As a senior fundraising team member, you will take a strategic approach to leading the development and management of our Major Donor, Trusts and Legacy programmes to maximise income and meet annual targets.  You will be accustomed to dealing with senior level figures in the corporate world and in managing the highest-level relationships between the Trust, the Charity, Trusts, legators and significant donors.

We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to guests who access Sufra’s Food Bank, Community Kitchen and the Community Wellbeing Project. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, wellbeing, money management and access to training and employment services. The post-holder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers.

The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

Location: Based onsite either Crisis Skylight Merseyside, 96 Kent Street, L1 5BD and partner agencies on a rota basis.

Hours: 35 per week between the hours of 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday on a rota basis

About the role 

As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will: 

• Welcome them to the service on site and at partner agencies,

• Listen carefully and non-judgementally to their story,

• Complete thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments using a trauma informed approach,

• Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness.

• Help them formulate a holistic plan and help them take the initial steps, where necessary. 

• Hold a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• Experience of working successfully with disadvantaged/or socially excluded groups and individuals, utilising a psychologically informed approach. 

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring accessible, welcoming, and safe ‘front of house’ environment in a busy service. 

• Experience of assessing presenting needs, and an understanding of strengths-based assessments. You will have empathy and understanding of the barriers to accessing services. 

• Ability to manage successful relationships with external agencies and relevant service providers and successfully advocate on members behalf. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills used to ensure accurate record keeping on a variety of Case Management Systems/Databases. 

• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to successfully manage a busy and diverse workload. 

• The ability to use your own initiative to contribute to the effective running of the service and to work flexibly as part of a team.

• Homelessness, housing, mental health, harm reduction services.

The Head of Fundraising is an exciting new role developed for the Society to increase fundraising and develop additional income streams to enhance the sustainability of the Society. They will help deliver the Transformation Plan, an exciting new project for Scotland’s oldest learned antiquarian Society to help deliver the Society’s vision: “Scotland’s past is for everyone to research, share, enjoy and protect, home and abroad”.

The Transformation Plan includes the acquisition and redevelopment of a B-listed building in central Edinburgh to co-create the most inclusive, low-carbon and heritage-rich space to work, visit and participate. This will become a heritage hub for Scotland’s past, helping to bring heritage alive for a wide range of public audiences. This role will provide the necessary vision, leadership, and fundraising skills which will enable the Society to achieve its fundraising targets and enhance its development program.

They will be an effective fundraiser and key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision.

Initially on a 2.5-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding, the post will work as part of the senior management team and liaise directly with staff, Councillors (trustees), members (known as Fellows) and other organisations and individuals to ensure the successful delivery of their responsibilities.

The post will have the following immediate priorities:

· Helping develop and submit a major stage one Development Phase National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) grant application in collaboration with the Director and others, creating an engaging and successful proposal and case for support (part of an overall c£6m Transformation Plan project)

· Development and delivery of a major fundraising campaign based on personal giving, grant applications and other fundraising activities

· Working with staff and Councillors to develop the required transformation of the Society to deliver maximum public benefit in line with the Society’s vision and mission

· Line managing staff as required

Main Responsibilities

Strategy and planning

· Development and delivery of a fundraising campaign (including grant funding, individual and organisational donations, and other fundraising activities) for a c£6m project, setting targets in collaboration with the Director and meeting them, creating engaging and successful proposals and cases for support

· Lead the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective strategies to achieve income targets across a range of revenue streams

· In cooperation with the Director, lead the development of a long-term fundraising strategy to achieve agreed long term Society goals and vision

· Identify new potential income streams and produce strategies to access these funds

Fundraising

· Build and manage an effective fundraising team (across the Society staff and volunteers as required) that delivers fundraising income meeting set targets

· Oversee the management of a grant and trust income programme, supporting staff as necessary and ensuring production of effective, high-quality proposals and reports

· Oversee the management of an individual giving programme, supporting staff as necessary and ensuring production of effective, high-quality donor development and reports

· Develop and maintain effective supporter journeys for the development of relationships and retention

Senior Management

The Head of Fundraising is a member of the Society’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and as such the post-holder will be expected to play a proactive role in the management of the Society including:

· Organisational strategic planning and development

· Income and expenditure budget planning and management

· Advising members of SMT on the availability of funds and the viability of obtaining funds to support initiatives

· Contribute to leadership decisions on all aspects of policy, development and organisation

· Playing a significant role in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of Society strategy and action plans

· To participate as an active member of the SMT, attending meetings and producing reports as required

· Attending Finance, Audit and Risk Committee meetings to report and give advice on fundraising matters

· Attending and participating in Council (trustee meetings) and producing reports as required

Person Specification

The Head of Fundraising will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from statutory sources, foundations, trusts and major donors. They will be a key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision. As such they will need the following:

Requirements - essential

· At least three years’ experience in a similar role

· Demonstrable record of major capital fundraising leadership and delivery, ideally within a charitable organisation but others will be considered

· A track record of successful fundraising, including sizeable NLHF applications

· Experience of utilising the strength of an organisational brand for charity/business development

· Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets

· Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor relationships including developing and managing individual donors and development of legacy giving

· Experience of developing and implementing strategic and business plans

· Strong leadership skills

· Track record of bringing innovative creative thinking and fresh ideas to an organisation and/or its services

· Knowledge of the fundraising environment including regulations around due diligence and compliance

This post is an initial 2.5-year (30 month) full-time contract which will be extendible subject to funding. There will be a short probationary period during which time your skills and suitability for the position will be assessed. Development of fundraising for the Transformation Plan will be the immediate priority. A lot of work has already been undertaken by the Society in preparing for an NLHF application as part of this, but the skill and experience of this post will ensure it has the maximum chance of success. This will include liaising with others, including NLHF staff and our consultants, the More Partnership.

The tasks and role will develop in line with the requirements in that application and the implementation of the Transformation Plan and will be reviewed after the submission of the initial NLHF bid. However, the core responsibilities will remain the development and delivery of successful fundraising strategies, increasing income to the Society.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead ASSIST Sheffield’s experienced and diverse volunteer teams and staff in delivering high-quality housing and accommodation provision to people who are experiencing destitution as a result of being refused asylum in the UK. The post holder will join a small leadership team, collectively holding responsibility for the work of the organisation.

This post will also lead the expansion and development of ASSIST’s accommodation portfolio, including income-generating activities such as the provision of safe and secure housing to people with refugee status.

You will be joining the charity in an exciting period as we are embarking on setting ASSIST's new five year strategy in a collaborative process that your role will directly feed into and will be guided by input from our service users.

You will be managing or delivering housing projects and services, including identifying and procuring suitable properties, and be familiar with relevant standards and regulations.

We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

The Information, Advice and Guidance worker is situated in the advocacy team to provide information on maintaining good mental health. The role will include triage provision in helping to assess needs e.g., reducing suicide risk and refer beneficiaries to appropriate and more importantly immediate support either at MhIST or externally. Typically, interventions will be short and usually, but not always, once off in nature.

Usually you will be working with people who have relatively low needs but you will be able to assist people with higher or complex needs to access services which are appropriate for them.

The support we envisage will typically be things like:

· Helping people to access the most appropriate service for their needs.

· Providing advice to help prevent the worsening of symptoms.

· Basic welfare benefits and other financial information

· Making sense of forms and paperwork

· Providing information about available services in the local area

Position: Grant Partnerships Coordinator

Location: Bolton/hybrid (two days a week in the Bolton office combined with home-working and travel across the Youth Zone network as required)

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 (dependent upon experience)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week) however would consider part-time working 4 days per week.

About the Role

Over the last two years the organisation has developed some outstanding national partnerships. This is a newly created position designed to maximise the potential of national partnerships by joining the successful Grant Partnerships Team and collaborating with teams in volunteering, impact, and storytelling.

We need you because the team are busy helping to give life changing opportunities to young people across the country. With seven large-scale youth centres (Youth Zones) set to join their existing network of 15, the organisation will soon be reaching more young people than ever before. Grant Partnerships with national partners has been instrumental in making expansion and ongoing support possible. As the organisation embarks on a new three-year strategy and is ready to take collaborations with national partners to new heights. This is where you come in!

So what will you be doing?

With support from the Head of Grant Partnerships, you will collaborate with colleagues, Youth Zones and partners to ensure vibrant relations between national funders and the charity. Operationally you will achieve this by supporting the stewardship pipeline system to ensure national partners feel connected to the everyday impact and stories that their support brings. You will also develop your own portfolio of national funding prospects and opportunities that may also include ‘Charity of the Year’ and fundraising events.

Success will be defined by how ‘above and beyond the grant terms’ engagement is with national partners and how they recognise themselves as an active part of the difference the team are making to over 55,000 young people.

About You

You are an excellent communicator who can craft persuasive written proposals and present complex information in a clear, impactful way. You have also got a knack for building strong relationships, both in person and through written communication, and you thrive when moving things forward working with multiple stakeholders. If you’re proactive and curious and looking to develop your career in fundraising and donor stewardship this is the role for you.

The Head of Finance is a pivotal role for the Trust, providing leadership in financial management and planning. You’ll also play a leading role in strategy and policy setting as part of the Senior Management Team and will lead a small team of staff and volunteers.
