Official Job Title: Early Literacy Interventionist

40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

We are seeking a part-time Early Literacy Interventionist (ELI), based at Galleywall Primary School in Southwark, South London. This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

For your caseload of target children, you will conduct an initial baseline assessment and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

The Education and Impact Manager will project manage our work across subject areas (social, democratic and legal education) and across educational phases (mainly primary and secondary). In addition, this role will lead our evaluation processes so we can evidence the impact and outcomes of our work against our theory of change.

• Review and develop our educational resources and training offer
• Project manage the delivery of new and updated materials/training and liaise with our internal team as well as external partners in their effective delivery and dissemination
• Oversee their implementation in different settings, writing some personally and using freelance contributors and/or corporate volunteers
• Create and implement an impact measurement framework that feeds into our theory of change and that meets that reporting requirements of our funders and partners

Skills and experience:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a track record of success, who can demonstrate excellent understanding of policy-making and legislative change in an unpredictable environment. They will have significant previous experience of working in a policy role, ideally within a life-sciences or a veterinary or human medicine setting.

Experience of working with central government departments along with an understanding of parliamentary processes are preferable for the role. Equally important is the ability to analyse and critique information, formulate evidence-based solutions and accurately convey proposals to influence outcomes.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with strong written and verbal skills. They will be able to demonstrate effective engagement skills across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the membership. Diplomacy and political awareness will be essential to ensure successful outcomes. Experience of PR and reputation management as part of the policy-making agenda is desirable.

The candidate must be flexible to work outside of normal office hours depending on the demands of the role which are often driven by the external environment and national events. The role is hybrid, incorporating working from home with travelling to meetings in or around London as required.  Therefore, to facilitate the needs of the role and the organisation, ideally candidates would be located in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire.

About the BSAVA:

The BSAVA is a professional membership association which exists to advance care for companion animals. Hybrid working

This is a hybrid role. You will be working from home and join Team Together Days in a co-working space in London 2-3 individual days each month. These days are considered commuting days. Job purpose

This is a pivotal role created to support an ambitious £80m fundraising appeal that will culminate in the creation of the new Royal Free London Cancer Centre.

The RFL, is one of the busiest cancer services in London, combining local care for a population of 2.5m with specialist services relied on by patients from all over the UK and beyond. By 2030, the number of people diagnosed with cancer in north central London is forecast to increase by 42% to 66,000 as the population ages.

The RFL urgently needs to increase its diagnostic, treatment, research and development capacity to meet the needs of our patients. In response, the Royal Free Charity is preparing a major fundraising appeal to support:

•  the capital costs for the construction and equipping of a dedicated centre
• the delivery of cancer-related support services.

The campaign communications manager will support the activities of our fundraising directorate in the private phase (Autumn 2024 onwards) and the launch of the public phase of our appeal in early 2026.

The postholder will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to engage philanthropists, existing supporters, grateful patients, stakeholders and the public. It promises to be a varied and rewarding role in a small but highly collaborative and friendly team.

The role will report to our head of communications and work closely with the campaign director and colleagues in our fundraising directorate and with key clinical leads in the RFL.  

The role is ideally suited to someone who is comfortable working across strategic planning and operational delivery, relishing the opportunity to translate plans into activity.

Engagement and communications department

The communications team is responsible for keeping our supporters and local residents informed about the difference we make to the patients and staff of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

We celebrate achievements and promote the charity and its successes to the world. We manage our digital presence through a range of channels including our website, our social media platforms and email marketing.

The objectives of the post are to: 

• develop and deliver the overarching communications and engagement plan for the cancer campaign
• work with the campaign director and colleagues in our fundraising directorate to support the development and delivery of donor-specific communication plans
• work with the campaign chair and campaign board members to promote the campaign in sectors where they are seeking to raise significant funds i.e. tech, finance, banking, media etc
• work with the campaign director and relevant agency to produce campaign materials and ensure the patient voice is represented in the appeal
• embed and champion the campaign brand to ensure consistency across all communications
• develop and maintain a campaign web presence, ensuring it is regularly updated with relevant content

About the role:

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.
• Manage daily advice line operations, including work on cases, data and continuous improvement.
• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.

Essential criteria includes:

• Substantial working knowledge of advice service delivery frameworks.

Migrants Organise is a national platform where refugees, migrants and allies organise for dignity and justice in solidarity fe for all. We are looking for an Organiser who believes in freedom and justice for all and the universal right to health, with the skills, initiative and interest to work with the team to continue to grow the Patients Not Passports campaign in a changing political environment and the ability to facilitate power building, action in pursuit of long-term structural change. 

The Access to Healthcare Organiser will help shape Migrants Organise’s strategy to grow an organised refugee and migrant solidarity movement as part of the Patients Not Passports campaign, alongside our partners at Medact, in order to bring about systemic change to end the hostile and racist immigration enforcement system in the NHS. The Organiser's work will include identifying, recruiting and supporting people charged or denied healthcare and facilitating their participation in the Patients Not Passports campaign, as well as supporting migrant movement builders to organise, lead and deliver organised and effective social justice actions locally, regionally and nationally alongside supporters and allies. 

Working for a small , resident led , community organisation your role will be to develop and deliver a range of projects and activities for local residents . You will have experience of similar work in a community setting and be responsible for managing an existing portfolio of projects and staff . You will work to develop partnerships with a range of local organisations , both statutory and voluntary , with a view to deleloping new projects and representing resident's interests . About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive and well organised administrator to develop their skills as part of the Quality and Standards team delivering administrational and engagement support for the teams’ key objectives in the raising of standards with quality assurance process to ensure projects, activities, products, platforms and services are organised and executed to a high standard. The successful applicant will have excellent administrative skills with a high level of emotional intelligence alongside relevant experience in a fast-paced environment, underpinned by a ‘can do’ work ethic and high level of probity. The successful applicant will also have a passion for supporting programmes for young people to accelerate their personal and professional development.

Role Purpose

To provide highly efficient administrative support and be proactive within the Standards Department with exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and a strong teamwork ethic.
The purpose of this role is to provide high-level general administration for the Quality and Standards team who is responsible for raising standards through the learning lab educator platform, using benchmarking resource products, to empower young people and champion future skills.

Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Administrative support to raise standards - Learning Lab:
• Support the engagement plan activities for educators to use the online learning platform and to access educational benchmarked resources.
• To aid the Digital Skills Development Manager to support the creation of editorial and marketing scripts.

2. Administrative support to empower young people - Benchmarking Resources and National Standards:
• To assist the Quality and Standards Manager to develop teaching tools for educators in colleges and training providers.
• Effectively support the co-ordination of resources (including agencies, suppliers, volunteers, and partners) so that all project elements are delivered to acceptable standards and meet the required outcomes.

3. Support to champion future skills – Competition portfolio reviews and audit:

• Producing and distributing accurate records of meetings. Acting as secretariat for meetings that are either in person or virtual that will include setting up meetings using Zoom or Teams, minute taking, and recording actions.

4. Operational Impact:

• Administration and co-ordination of activities in line with the project operational plan
• Develop, co-ordinate and maintain appropriate systems and processes, tracking and reporting on activity.

5. To work with internal or external stakeholders at all:

• Liaising with educator partners to ensure key quality assurance documentation is submitted to deadlines and collated on the appropriate systems.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

Refuge Manager 

Salary: £40,221, 5 days a week

The Refuge Manager post is instrumental in the delivery of care, a safe environment and a comprehensive package ofservices that meet the needs of the MENA women at risk of VAWG in our refuges. The post holder will be responsible formanaging IKWRO’s refuges and providing advice, advocacy, and casework support. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of IKWRO’s service users in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.
