The Head of Operations (England) is a key member of the Senior Management Team and you will have strategic and operational management responsibility for the development of our programmes of work in England. Over four million people live in England’s coalfields, located in six regions (North East, North West, Yorkshire, East Midlands, West Midlands and Kent) and this role requires drive, determination and creativity to ensure our teams deliver and maximise the resources we have for the benefit of our communities.  You will work collaboratively with colleagues and create a shared collective responsibility for ensuring the CRT achieves its strategic missions and ambitious targets outlined in its new strategy 2024 to 2029 – Building Community Wealth.  By working as part of a team across the whole organisation, you will ensure there is a consistent approach to quality, branding and communication with key stakeholder groups.

The role is responsible to the Chief Executive and for contributing to the effective day-to-day running of the CRT, ensuring we demonstrate good governance and fulfil our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Having begun as a two-person part time project with the modest goal to development of some resources to support listening practices, the School for Synodality has grown to become a hub of encouragement and support around synodal practices within the Church in England and Wales and an important voice in the international conversation about the implementation of synodality. This growth has necessitated stronger working partnerships, growing our capacity and systems. To ensure the limited capacity of our directors is best utilised we’re looking for an operations manager to join are team to support smooth running of the project and development of its vision. 

The School for Synodality Operations Manager will be central to the operational and administrative functions of the School for Synodality, including overseeing the work of the Administrator and Communications Specialist and supporting projects and partnerships with diocese, local church communities and other stakeholders across the Church. The role requires someone who understands the Catholic Church and is committed to fostering collaboration for the vision of the School for Synodality. 

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in a remote, flexible context and working alongside part time staff and volunteers with limited capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the team: Providing high-quality guidance, advice, and leadership to frontline care and support staff.
• Day-to-day operations: Overseeing the service in collaboration with the Service Manager, ensuring the delivery of trauma-informed and recovery-focused support to residents.
• Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners, including the community rehabilitation team within the mental health trust.
• Service promotion: Representing the service and providing outreach-based provision to engage with stakeholders.
• Health and safety: Conducting health and safety checks, internal audits, and ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
• Document preparation: Preparing documents for external meetings
• Incident management: Advising on and responding to incidents as they arise.
• Service leadership: Managing the service in the absence of the Service Manager, ensuring continuity and high standards of care.

We’re looking to recruit a Teaching Community Manager to join our education team, harnessing the power of education to help shape a positive and sustainable future for our planet.

We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, giving children the opportunity to engage at school and break the cycle of poverty. 

In our nearly seven years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We are now looking to appoint, for the first time, a dedicated Fundraising Events Manager to work within our small and dynamic Fundraising & Supporter Engagement team. We Are Survivors are looking for an experienced therapeutic manager to come and join our Community Team to help us support survivors and their supporters across Greater Manchester.

Your responsibilities will include the administration of our corporate membership scheme, ensuring the accurate recording of income and information, and maintaining our internal database to the highest standards. You will also be responsible for producing high-quality and compelling communications to raise the profile of the charity and inspire current and prospective members.

While experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management is beneficial, we are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and customer service skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.

The Kenelm Youth Trust is seeking a Retreat Centre Director to head up both the Alton Castle and Soli residential centres based in Alton, Staffordshire. You will be required to live on site in order to fulfil role requirements.

Wigan & Leigh Hospice is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our Business Development team.

The hospice is a charity which is firmly embedded in its community and relies on the support of that community to keeps its services running. Often people are surprised that hospices rely so heavily on donations to deliver such essential services, but every day we need to raise £12,000 just to keep the hospice running.

As Marketing & Communications Manager you will play a key role in raising the profile of the hospice, helping our community to better understand the services we offer. You will manage all of the hospice’s internal and external communications channels, finding creative ways to engage patients and their families, supporters, staff and volunteers.

The role is available 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (Friday 4pm finish), on a salary of £36,888 - £38,928 per annum. Flexible working requests will be considered.

There will be a requirement for flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Wigan & Leigh Hospice is a CQC Outstanding Hospice supporting the population of the borough of Wigan with specialist palliative and end of life care. Around 1400 people are supported by the hospice each year, with a further 600 people accessing counselling and bereavement services.

The care is tailored to the needs of each individual patient, with some delivered in the patient’s home or usual place of residence, and some in our 14-bed Inpatient Unit in Hindley.

The Project Manager will have the ability to enthuse and inspire businesses to take action to meet the needs of communities across Norwich. 

The Project Manager will be a highly motivated, approachable self-starter who is able to enthuse a range of stakeholders with the ability to spot opportunities and act on them.  Working in communities in Norwich to deliver and manage a range of projects in line with the objectives established by the Norwich Pride of Place Board, you will report to the Pride of Place Board on activities and interventions and demonstrate the impact the Programme is making in communities.

Salary is on the BITC professional level 5 - minimum of £16,757 per annum (i.e. 0.6 FTE of £27,945 per annum)

Shannon Trust Reading Strategy Coordinator HMP Stoke Heath

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing illiteracy amongst people in prison?

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) and G4S to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons.  We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Stoke Heath. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Stoke Heath, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role is subject to contract award and will be prison-based.
