Purpose Statement

The postholder will be a key member of the central administration team of the Rank Foundation. 

Key Accountabilities

Secretariat support to governance committees:

- Drafting agendas, production and dissemination of papers for Committees and Board meetings to trustees

- Attendance to governance meetings, minute taking, and following up on actions

- Organising RFL annual governance schedule of meetings

- Liaising and acting as point of contact for trustees

- Arranging meetings for Execs and Trustees

- Drafting and issuing comms as needed by the Chair, Trustees and Execs

- Maintaining governance records and register of trustees’ interests up-to date

- Assisting with audit queries as and when required

- Managing the periodic review of Committees’ Terms of References

- Planning induction programme of new trustees

- Undertaking regular reviews of policies, staff handbook, trustee hanbook and ensuring currency and developing new ones as required

- Supporting with implementation of  EDI strategy and the Foundation’s vision

- Occasional out of office hours meeting attendance as/ when required

HR

- Facilitating recruitment activities including posting and monitoring job ads, shortlisting of candidates, recommending list for interview and liaising with candidates

- Onboarding of resources: references, right to work checks, drafting of contracts and offer letters, planning of induction programme, sourcing of IT kit/required equipment, arranging IT induction

- Offboarding of resources: ensuring resources are removed access to SharePoint, emails and laptop wiped. Monitoring of dormant inboxes.

- Management and administration of Breathe (HR Platform)

We are seeking to recruit a Communications Manager to lead on the development and delivery of PILC’s communications strategy with an aim to grow the organisation’s profile, increase the reach and influence of our work and develop supporter engagement.  

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Communications Manager to help us increase the impact of our work through cross-channel communications and grow the organisation’s profile to match the quality of the legal work we conduct. You will be joining at an exciting time when there is already some infrastructure in place but plenty of opportunity to make your mark on the development of our organisational approach to communications. You will work closely with the Director to develop and implement a cross-organisational communications strategy to extend our reach, brand awareness and increase donations. You will join a dedicated staff team who are all passionate about building power with working class and marginalised communities. You will be expected to work closely with staff across the organisation, supporters and the communities we serve, co-ordinating and delivering effective organisation wide communications. A demonstrable interest in social justice campaigning is essential.

About You

 We are looking for an experienced and creative communications all-rounder with a track record of implementing communications strategies for social change. You’ll be an effective project manager, able to work proactively and collaboratively with staff across the organisation to showcase the vital work colleagues in the litigation team conduct out of the spotlight. You will be confident in working with a variety of stakeholders, including journalists, lawyers and marginalised communities. You will be proactive, able to build and maintain relationships, develop effective cross-channel communications and manage a varied workload. You will be both able and happy to turn your hand to strategic thinking alongside day-to-day delivery, such as copy-editing news pieces for our website or writing press releases. You’ll be engaged with social justice campaigning and social media with an ability to identify and take advantage of relevant communications opportunities.

The Role

This role is all about people – connecting with church leaders and other individuals within church communities, sharing your passion for freedom of religion or belief through sermons, presentations and conversations to inspire others to take action. You’ll be a natural networker and someone entrepreneurial who takes initiative and comes up with your own ideas for how best to reach busy church leaders and congregations. You will be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively.

• Proactively source speaking engagements in churches across the UK and fulfil these engagements, both by deploying a network of staff and volunteer speakers and by speaking yourself.

Main duties & Responsibilities

Securing New Corporate Partnership Business

·To support in the creation of a new corporate fundraising strategy and subsequently implement this

·Develop resources, pitch decks and communications to attract new partnerships

·Identify, research and approach a pipeline of potential corporate partners, including those with existing links to employees, volunteers, trustees and members.

·Confidently pitch and write proposals to potential corporate partners, tailoring style and approach according to their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities

·Research and attend networking events and activities to support new income opportunities

Corporate Partnership Account Management

·Account-manage a portfolio of corporate partnerships, e.g. charity of the year, company sponsorship, staff fundraising, etc, ensuring mutually agreed partnership journeys are clearly planned and well executed

·Provide excellent stewardship of all current relationships including marketing and fundraising initiatives throughout the year

·Work closely with the Marketing lead to create innovative marketing plans for corporate partners to demonstrate Return on Investment

·Produce reports and presentations including activities and reach to convey the impact of partnerships

 Working with the wider team to deliver income targets

·Work closely and collaboratively with the wider Income Generation and Support teams to deliver professional and on brand communications to partners

The Role 

As our Fundraising Manager, you will take on a key role, creating the income we need to undertake our vital work supporting disabled people. 

We are looking to further develop and diversify our income streams beyond Trusts and foundation and focus on increasing donations from individuals with an interest in our cause. 

Growing our individual supporter base, you will recruit new supporters and build on the excellent foundations laid by our outgoing Community Fundraiser to raise our profile amongst our neighbours. 

You will provide outstanding relationship management and donor care to supporters, ensuring they are recognised and thanked for their contribution. Additionally, you will develop and deliver fundraising operational plans, helping to create fundraising materials that encourage and support fundraising potential.

About You

To be considered as our Fundraising Manager, you will need: 

• Experience increasing fundraising income from individuals and achieving income targets 
• Experience of the effective stewardship of charity donors 
• Project planning and management experience 
• Experience managing and hitting budgets 
• Knowledge of fundraising good practice 
• An excellent understanding of donor stewardship and relationship management

These roles are HANDS ON! You will be required to sort donations and prepare clothing for sale which will include tagging and pricing items before placing them on the shop floor.

UK-based for employment purposes, the post holder will primarily work from home.  The post will require some in-person meetings in the UK, and some international travel.

7. Accountability

The post holder will report to the Director of Advocacy, who in turn reports to the ICAM Director.  The post holder may directly line-manage social media volunteers.

Salary: 40,000-45,000 per year

Hours: Full-time (negotiable) and flexible hours.

Annual leave: 25 days paid holiday plus 8 bank and public holidays as paid leave days each year.

Position Overview: As the Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our fundraising efforts to support our mission. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve annual revenue targets, focusing on major gifts, fundraising campaigns and corporate partnerships.

Cultivate and Manage Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders to enhance their engagement with our mission. Develop and implement donor stewardship programmes.

Grant & Trusts Bid Writing: Lead grant and trust fundraising efforts by researching opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, ensuring compliance, and fostering relationships with funders to secure vital financial support for the charity's mission and programmes.

Innovative Campaigns: Lead the development of creative and effective fundraising campaigns to engage existing donors and attract new supporters. Utilise digital platforms and social media to enhance fundraising efforts.

Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team, head of programme delivery, and communications staff to align fundraising strategies with the overall organisational goals and messaging.

Budget Oversight: Manage the fundraising budget efficiently, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve maximum impact.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in fundraising, with a focus on major gifts, corporate partnerships, and grant writing.

Background

In April 2022 Fight for Peace became one of 120 Sport England Systems Partners. The aim is to deliver system-wide change against Sport England’s 10-year strategy, Uniting the Movement, to level up access to sport and physical activity across the country. One of the goals of this programme is to increase the engagement of under-represented and under-served groups in sports and physical activity.

Fight for Peace believes that it can be done through championing clubs and coaches as assets for social change, and championing the skills of coaches. Fight for Peace has created an online course for coaches to help achieve this, called Life Champions.

About the Life Champions Course

The Fight for Peace Life Champions course is an online course for sports coaches who want to learn how to use their sport as a tool for youth development. It is designed to help coaches expand their impact to include supporting the personal development of young people. The course will increase their confidence (through increasing awareness, knowledge, and skills) to help young people develop key skills that will support them in sport and in life beyond the sport. Coaches will learn about the values and behaviours of a Life Champions coach, build an understanding of how to create a Life Champions environment, think about equality, diversity and inclusion, and develop practical ideas to support young people to develop Life Champions skills.

Sport for Development Partnerships Manager Responsibilities include:

● Developing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the sports sector to promote the Life Champions course i.e. NGBs, Sport England, Sport for Development organisations etc

● Creating and implementing a communications strategy with support from key staff members

● Overseeing the development of any promotional materials.

● Creating strong connections and working relationships with our Alliance partners

● Strengthening the credibility of Life Champions i.e. through a collection of endorsements from key figures

● Create and maintain an online support system for participants who are in flight or have completed the Life Champions course.

● Liaise with UK Coaching for quarterly reports and any technical issues regarding participant access

● Organise events for Life Champions coaches

● Spearhead the positioning of Life Champions as a sport-for-development professional standard

● Ensure Fight for Peace is implementing Life Champions methodology in liaison with Sports Development Manager

● Work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager to ensure relevant data is collated and analysed in a timely manner.

Person Specification (Essential)

● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sport Management, Management or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus

● Have demonstrated interest or background in sports in particular sports for development initiatives

● Proven experience as a Project Manager or in a similar role.

● Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall

● Strong leadership and team management abilities.

● Proven ability to quickly learn new software

We are seeking an experienced Campaign Mobilisation Manager to design and deliver high impact campaigns, manage and grow our network of campaigners, and centre the voices of people with lived experience of financial insecurity.

This is an exciting opportunity in our growing Policy & Influencing team to establish a robust campaigning function for Turn2us, with a strong focus on system change and the impact of stigma.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mission to challenge the systems and perceptions that cause financial insecurity. You will bring experience of developing and delivering high impact and creative influencing campaign strategies with a focus on centring the voices of people with lived experience. 

We want to hear from applicants with a strong understanding of how policy, public affairs and campaigning interact to create social change, and the digital skills to build and grow an online network of campaign supporters.

We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.
