About the role:

 

You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. You will be undertaking all initial assessments and processing these on the database and allocating these to each Keyworker. The Keyworkers will provide one to one community support to women with a variety of needs simultaneously and will be co-located with partner organisations in their region. You will be expected to travel to Advance’s Head office in London for any organisational meetings and training, as and when required.

The Triage Worker sits within the Triage Team in the pilot area, working alongside the Triage IDVA. The Triage Worker will focus on all aspects of the case relating to the Perpetrator in cases where the perpetrator has been referred to the team for an assessment of suitability for a Positive Requirement during an application for a DAPO.  

Respect is a pioneering UK domestic abuse charity, leading the development of safe, effective work with perpetrators, with young people who are abusive and with male victims. Respect supports frontline organisations across the UK, so that together we can end domestic abuse. Respect has seen rapid growth over the last few years, and we now have 50+ staff and have ambitious plans for further growth and influence. This role is based within the Drive Partnership and is part of the pilot for the roll out of the positive requirement element of the DAPO’s.

In this role, you will support FLEX’s policy and advocacy work to secure access to rights for all workers in the UK and prevent labour exploitation. The Science Council is looking for two people to help it raise the profile and prestige of science-based apprenticeships and increase the status of scientific technicians through professional registration.

The Science Council has delivered the groundbreaking Technical Pathways project since 2020 and has recently secured continued funding from the Gatsby Foundation to the end of 2026. A key objective of the project is to make it easier for apprentices to achieve professional registration and raise the profile of science apprenticeships.

Summary of role and key benefits

Two positions are available, each of 0.4 FTE (2 days/week equivalent). The working pattern will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidates. Flexible working and secondments will be considered.

- Fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026.
- Salary £47,000 pro rata (i.e. £18,800 for 2 days/week).
- 5% employer pension contribution.
- 25 days annual leave and public holidays pro rata (i.e. paid leave of 70 + 22.4 hours per annum) plus Science Council closure days between Christmas and New Year in addition to pro rata leave.
- Hybrid working pattern; mainly home-based, minimum of 1 Thursday per month in Science Council shared office locations in central London, with some travel and/or additional visits required for stakeholder meetings and events.

Your role

You will contribute to an increase in the uptake of science-based apprenticeships across the UK by linking apprenticeships to professional body membership and professional registration. You will work closely and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including scientific professional bodies, apprenticeship training providers, endpoint assessment organisations and science-based employers.

You will spend much of your time meeting people (in person and online). You will need to establish and develop a broad range of relationships, often with senior leaders and decision makers. You will be a credible, diplomatic and engaging external contact for the Technical Pathways project and the Science Council. Who we’re looking for

Most of all, we’re interested in hearing from people with a commitment to technical education and the access it provides to the scientific professions, particularly for people from under-represented groups. You should have direct experience of supporting apprenticeships, either in a training provider, endpoint assessment organisation, science-based employer or a professional body. You should understand the mechanisms and requirements of apprenticeships. This will give you the credibility to form effective relationships with the groups you’ll be working with.

You should also have a reasonably good understanding of the wider landscape of technical education, including recent policy trends, and of scientific professional bodies and professional registration.

We’re looking for experienced candidates who can work with a significant degree of autonomy. While you’ll get plenty of support from the Science Council team, you’ll need to take the initiative in both addressing unforeseen challenges and setting day-to-day tasks to achieve your goals.

As the Multi-Crime Team Leader you will:

What you’ll be doing

You will start with offering IT support to all our People, and providing organisational support to our IT team. Your domain will span our London HQ and the distributed network of staff, celebrants, consultants, and volunteers who keep our organisation running.

You will meet daily with the Director of IT to triage and keep track of the support needs, including larger projects. You will take ownership of our issue tracking systems (we use Jira and Notion, unless you can convince us otherwise) and keep them organised and current.

You will be the first point of contact for support issues. You will handle the first level of support yourself for standard issues: resetting passwords, and similar. After you’ve settled in, we will skill you up on our CRM tools, website, and other areas - so that you can support the highest priority areas. We will work with you based on your strengths, interests, and career development needs.

You will help manage inventory, and help with budgeting. You will also help with writing documentation. Later on, you will determine training needs across the organisation and assist in providing training sessions.

You will be in our London office at least 2 days a week, looking after the office IT environment by keeping it organised, tidy, and documented. You will be handling some of the physical infrastructure for the office network too. You don’t need high-level networking skills, but you need to understand the concepts of routers/switches/wireless access points - and be able to do basic troubleshooting on standard network issues. If you don’t have a Network+ qualification or similar (not a requirement), we’ll get you working towards one right away.

Advice and Information Helpline Worker (Mental Health)

Erdington, Birmingham

£24,809 per annum (full time), £12,405 per annum (pro rata for part time roles)

The Helpline is open 7 days per week hours 9 am to 11 pm.  Candidates must be available to cover shift patterns across days, evenings and weekends. 

Our client is a leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

As a Helpline Worker, you will be providing support for those experiencing mental health difficulties through the helpline service. The helpline supports people living in the Birmingham and Solihull area.

The support offered will include (but is not exclusive to), receiving calls, emails and webchat from people who may be experiencing crisis, people looking for more general assistance and information about services, carers looking for advice and services, and other community support services. You will provide appropriate referrals and signposting information about their services and external partner agencies.

You will be working in a community focused way to ensure that statutory and local organisations are aware of the provision, ensuring that you retain close and effective links with them as well as keeping up to date with any pertinent changes to local provision. 

The helpline is a 7 day a week service from 9am -11pm. Under the direction of the service manager, you will support the running of the service in line with contractual requirements, their Vision and Values, their operating Policy and Procedures, and any relevant legal requirements. 

You will have at least 6 months’ experience in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work with strong values and work within a recovery approach.

To join as our Living  Collection Keeper you will have a wide range of knowledge and experience working with animals within a collection, have a proven track record of working within a team, a drive to learn, communicate and succeed. Previous experience of general maintenance, horticultural work and a driving license is essential for the role.

This role is ideal for anyone with experience in volunteering or having previously worked in a similar role.

As a Living Collections Keeper you'll receive a wide range of training and hands-on experience, supporting you to develop your skills whilst increasing your knowledge of various specialisations over time.

What will you be doing?

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Communications and Fundraising, this is a fantastic opportunity to establish and strengthen Hft’s relationship with politicians, policymakers. As Policy and Public Affairs Officer you will monitor parliamentary activity, consultations and policy developments to inform Hft’s campaign and communications activity.

The role is varied, often working with multiple and complex priorities, using the insight gained through public insight to inform integrated campaigns that raise awareness of the critical issues and the needs of people with learning disabilities.

You will be confident at building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, with a core understanding of UK political systems and processes, and how public affairs and campaign tactics operates.

If you have the ability to identify the news angle in any story, provide strategic advice on key reputational and media issues, to influence our campaigns and help build our voice of authority, we would like to hear from you!

We are currently recruiting a Programme Assistant and Executive Assistant to manage a portfolio of grants and contribute to the implementation of the IAWP strategy. In addition, this Programme Assistant and Executive Assistant will support London-based Trustees by managing their schedules, arranging travel, and processing discretionary grants. The role of the Programme Assistant and Executive Assistant is essential in maintaining the seamless operations and success of our foundation.

Executive Assistant to London based Trustees (approximately 30%)

• Processing discretionary grants for Trustees by liaising with the organisations identified to receive grants, collecting necessary documentation, and coordinating with Oak grant management team
• Assisting the Trustees with external contacts, including prioritising correspondence and phone inquiries, drafting responses as necessary, and managing workflow emerging from these contacts
• Scheduling and coordinating Trustee appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries, including the preparation of background materials, arranging meetings and events, and ensuring appropriate follow-up of decisions and agreements
• Supporting Trustees in various boards and committees, including all aspects of preparation and follow-up

Support to the Issues Affecting Women Programme team (approximately 70%)

• Grant-making: Master grant-making tools, especially the grant management system (i.e. database) to facilitate team management of the grant-making process. Develop a deep understanding of the grant portfolio to support execution of the overall strategy.
• Communications: Work with the Communications Department to prepare and pull together material for presentations, briefings, and background material as required. Work with the team and director to manage a communications plan for the programme. This may include preparing and coordinating material and presentations for board meetings, events, meetings, and team calls. It may also include drafting and preparing communication updates, including programme newsletters.
• Scheduling: Manage the Director’s and team’s schedule and movements, including coordinating all activities, arranging meetings, and coordinating travel including applying for visas, and booking planes/trains/accommodation/developing an itinerary. Help track and support meeting deadlines.
• Team calendar: Maintain overall team calendar for planning purposes.
• Administration: Provide administrative support to the team (and office when requested): organise and maintain files, submit expenses, and log documents with response deadlines. Other administrative tasks as assigned.
• Meetings: Attend various meetings with internal and external parties; take notes and follow up on action points as required.
• Routine correspondence: Draft routine correspondence, including various programme reports and other briefings.
• Contracts and payments: Provide support in drafting contracts and payments, and liaise with third party providers on various issues. Maintain a roster of consultants and keep a record of staff satisfaction with work completed.
• Events planning: Coordinate team training activities and meetings including: organising invitations to participants and room set up (table, chairs, flipcharts, video equipment); providing video call information; ensuring presentations are in the right format; and organising lunches, booking restaurants, pick-ups, and other logistics. Provide other back-office support as needed.
• Recruitment: When recruitments take place, follow-up with candidates at all stages of the process in liaison with the HR team.

Other support tasks including:

• Performing reception duties by meeting and greeting visitors for the Trustees and the IAWP programme
• Advising staff visiting from other offices about arrangements for visiting London (e.g., hotels, restaurants, booking meeting rooms) for Trustees and IAWP related visits
• Setting up the office for newcomers in IAWP team: arranging desks, IT devices, and stationary etc
• Acting as back up to others in the London office for office management tasks (i.e., performing reception duties, liaising with office concierge, and setting up offices for newcomers, etc).

In addition to your main duties, you will be required to carry out such duties consistent with your position as required.

Position requirements

• University degree or equivalent experience
• Approx. 5 years in a comparable role
• Excellent organisational skills, high level of discretion, and attention to detail
• Advanced fluency / first-language level knowledge of English, additional languages a plus
