About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to join the friendly CharityComms team to help us plan, organise and deliver communications and engagement outputs that support the needs of members, and drive organisational development.

A core part of the job will be overseeing the CharityComms’ social media work, by managing our channels, creating content, and delivering on our social media strategy to engage people and increase our brand profile.

Other key tasks include content creation and commissioning projects for our website, and having a supporting role in other general communications, engagement and marketing activity and administration as needed. This is a great opportunity for a strategic thinker with a passion for creative, impactful communications, who is ready to demonstrate their initiative.

Location 

Remote, with the option of occasional working in our central London office, and as needed for in-person events (full travel costs will be covered for any in-person events).

CharityComms is a thriving membership network of communications professionals working in UK charities. Our amazing community is made up of more than 750 charities, adding up to almost 12,000 people. 

We work with our members and the wider communications community to raise the standard of charity communications, to enable them to deliver their world-changing missions more effectively. From our range of services and events to our best practice guides, reports, support for professional development and web and social media content, we represent, support, inspire, connect and inform our members and the wider charity communications community.

Purpose of the role 

You will be working with the Communications and Engagement team to promote CharityComms and what we offer, through the creation and development of effective and engaging content, and community and stakeholder engagement. 

Communications and content are at the heart of this role, and we’re looking for someone with demonstratable experience in strategic, content-based projects, including commissioning and editing content from external stakeholders, social media management and content creation, and community management. 

Social media management and community engagement 

You will own the social media management of our channels, maximising their performance and supporting stakeholder engagement with our work. You will:

• Deliver and adapt a creative and engaging social content strategy with the Communications and Engagement Manager that meets our wider business aims and objectives. 
• Craft key organisational messaging into engaging social media content and posts to generate conversations. 
• Be responsible for creating, scheduling and managing social content using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our management tool, Sprout Social. 
• Responsible for maintaining upkeep of social analytics reporting, as directed by the Communications and Engagement Manager, to ensure activity supports wider marketing, communications and engagement strategies. 
• Continuously improve our social media presence and brand profile, including recommending and piloting new approaches to content and channel development to increase community engagement and meet targets. 
• Manage and monitor forum and social media groups and act as facilitator of conversations where needed, working closely with relevant colleagues and stakeholders. 
• Grow and deliver ways to increase engagement with new and existing audiences, including regular engagement activity on member’s posts (sharing, liking) and ensuring our member network is up to date within these channels. 

Content commissioning and creation 

Working proactively and collaboratively with the Communications and Engagement Manager to deliver our content plans. You will:

• Deliver and adapt our communications and engagement strategy to meet our objectives.
• Play an active role in content creation and marketing activity – including designing, producing and editing creative content i.e. graphics, photography, videos. 
• Develop, coordinate and update long-form pieces for our website, i.e. best practice guides and templates. 
• Have remit to commission content projects – using own initiative to develop initial pitches relevant to charity communicators and oversee the commissioning process. 
• Work with external providers where necessary to develop resources and creative materials where required. 
• Stay up to date with current communications, marketing and content trends, to advise the wider CharityComms team on best practice regarding content and campaigns, including accessibility. 

Website and email comms 

Working collaboratively with teams where needed or taking key roles to:

• Edit, upload, and publish content on the CharityComms website as directed. 
• Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to continuously deliver on website strategy activities.
• Work alongside the Communications and Engagement Manager to deliver eNews campaigns. This could include commissioning, writing, research, proof-reading, scheduling, maintaining lists and reporting on performance as needed. 
• Actively provide feedback to the Communications and Engagement Manager and Head of Membership and Insight on planned activities and make recommendations for improvements. 

Other activities 

• Ability and confidence to deputise for the Communications and Engagement Manager where necessary.
• Analyse data for reporting and make recommendations.
• Work across the organisation to support communications and marketing activity to ensure consistent messaging, tone and content. 
• Provide communications support across key organisational projects, and on any other activity, as reasonably requested, that will generate social and/or financial return on investment for CharityComms. 
• Support the admin of the comms inbox, responding appropriately to requests or flagging for colleagues.
• Keep up to date with sector news, events and activities. 
• Attend CharityComms and sector events, where appropriate, either in-person or online.

About the Service User Network (SUN)

The SUN is an open access model of community-based facilitated group peer support for people experiencing complex emotional needs associated with complex trauma and/or a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’. The SUN aims to help people develop effective ways of coping, reduce emergencies and improve access to appropriate services.

Those accessing the SUN may or may not have a formal diagnosis of personality disorder. Group members will have experienced longstanding emotional difficulties, isolation and may demonstrate patterns of behaviour that may not be helpful in the longer term.

About the Role

Fundamental to creating empowerment and engagement in the SUN Project is the therapeutic community principle, that the effectiveness of the service depends upon engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the SUN model of peer support.

SUN Facilitators will have their own lived experience of complex emotional needs associated with a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’ and will be able to demonstrate their recovery journey. They will work closely with mental health practitioners from ELFT (East London NHS Foundation Trust) to deliver regular Service User Network (SUN) groups in different community-based locations in Bedford, Central Bedfordshire or Luton. Full training in the SUN model, and weekly supervision by a Psychotherapist / Psychologist, will be provided for all team members.

Facilitators will work to develop and support the therapeutic community principle of the SUN model and the effectiveness of the service through engaging group members in the task of running, delivery, development, and evaluation of the service. The utilisation of SUN members’ own resources and expertise is integral to the model of peer support upon which the SUN groups are based.

SUN facilitators will have regular supervision and support in this role along with appropriate training.

Reporting to the Senior Nature Recovery Manager (North Hampshire) and functioning as a key member of the North Hampshire Area Team, this post is responsible for the habitat management of five MoD sites in the northeast of the County which form part of the Thames Basin Heaths, and the nationally important Greywell Moors near Hook. This portfolio of sites includes a diverse mixture of heathland and Fen habitats; all of which are being managed or restored to favourable condition with support from the team and in partnership with organisations such as the MoD, NE, EA, external graziers and our inhouse grazing team. 

The suite of sites includes a significant acreage of the MOD training estate, which is comprised of internationally important lowland heath; there are also an exciting range of fen, woodland, wood pasture, also neutral and acid grasslands within the wider Northern estate. 

The Reserve Officer (North Hampshire) will deliver Countryside Stewardship Scheme and other work plan objectives, working with fellow staff, volunteers, contractors, project partners and the grazing team to implement habitat management activities. Estate management will also include the maintenance of reserve infrastructure and gathering ecological data through working with partners and carrying out surveying when required. 

Alongside the practical and administrative delivery associated with reserve management and general estate management tasks; this role will also be working closely with the wider team to ensure the northern estate and its staff are being as effective as possible, while maintaining a close and supportive relationship with our grazing team.

Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.

The post holder will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools, colleges & universities, places of worship, youth service provisions & local community venues. About the Department

The Legal, Safeguarding and Donor Compliance (LSDC) team is made up of 12 individuals from a range of countries including 4 based in Africa and works across  MSI’s locations. It  has a broad role both in the UK and in dealing with the legal and administrative complexities of providing sexual and reproductive healthcare across  Africa and Asia. It runs MSI’s anti-fraud, safeguarding, data privacy and carbon reduction processes, and deals with global government and other large donor funding requirements.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference and play a vital role within the Fundraising team at MHA. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the individual giving programme in line with the wider strategic objectives.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Bedford Mental Health Prevention service for adults which aims to improve people’s mental wellbeing, raise aspirations and enhance confidence.

As Service Coordinator you will be responsible for implementing working recovery models and coordinating the operational plans for the service to ensure that people are able to manage their mental health, move through their recovery journeys and achieve positive outcomes.

Along with coordinating service delivery to meet its aims, objectives and Key Performance Indicators, you will also line manage the service Recovery Workers and lead on recruitment, onboarding and management of volunteers in the service.

Additionally you will conduct assessments of individual’s suitability for the service, leading on more complex cases and guiding people through the range of available interventions that can support them to achieve the outcomes that matter to them.

In addition to managing the day-to-day delivery of the service you will also contribute to the direct provision of the service by leading and facilitating group sessions where needed and by offering informal 1-2-1 mental health and wellbeing support that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps, be isolated and ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.

You will lead opportunities to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and to build links with local organisations and agencies.

You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them. SUN facilitators will have regular supervision and support in this role along with appropriate training.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to report into the Data Manager for IPS Grow. One of IPS Grow’s key responsibilities is enabling the collection and analysis of consistent data from providers to provide a holistic picture of how the IPS model is performing and support evidence-based strategic decision-making at local, regional and national levels. This includes managing the IPS Grow Reporting Tool – the national performance management tool for mental health and drug & alcohol teams in the country.

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by Social Finance in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). A core element of the programme is the expert assistance provided by a team of IPS experts, known as IPS Grow Leads, to support providers to improve their fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes for their clients.

As a Data Analyst, you will be pivotal in running the IPS Grow Reporting Tool and helping define, build, streamline and distribute reports and dashboards, combining different sets of data from different systems and tools to show the full end to end picture of the IPS world.

Whilst IPS Grow operates distinctly from Social Finance, the Data function has solid links with, and your work will be supported by, peers and managers in the Social Finance Data and Digital Team.

Responsibilities

• Report development: Designing, developing, and maintaining interactive and insightful Power BI reports tailored to meet the specific needs of a diverse range of health and government stakeholders, such as NHSE, DWP and OHID.

• Data integration: Collaborating with client and specialist teams in Social Finance to gather, transform, and integrate data from various sources, including planning systems and engineering data sources.

• Performance optimisation: Supporting the Data Manager and the Technical Team with identifying and implementing improvements to ensure that the user experience is positive and that client requirements are met and exceeded where possible.

• Creating visualisations: Leveraging Power BI capabilities to create visuals and incorporate analytics to provide deeper insights.

• Information governance: Establishing and enforcing information governance policies, including data validation, security and access controls to maintain data integrity and confidentiality.

• User training and support: Providing training and support to end-users, enabling them to effectively use Airtable and Power BI for data exploration and reporting.

About You

Essential skills and behavioural competencies

• Motivation to work on health and employment outcomes: Passion for improving health, wellbeing and opportunities for people and communities.

• Airtable and Power BI experience: Proven experience in using Airtable and Power BI to develop dashboards and reports, ideally using health, social care or other public sector data.

• Agile proficiency: An appreciation for Agile ways of working and knowledge of the agile software development lifecycle, including gathering and prioritising requirements and providing support after technology is launched.

• Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and a track record of accomplishing tasks with thoroughness, accuracy and reliability.

• Ethics: An interest in bringing ethics to work, thinking about how design decisions exacerbate or counter problems such as structural racism, algorithmic bias, or a tendance towards state surveillance of disadvantaged populations.

• Organisation skills: A high level of organisation and reliability, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and requests, prioritising them effectively and ensuring they are responded to in timely and accurate manner. A high level of trustworthiness, integrity, and empathy.

• Multi-disciplinary, flexible teamwork: Willingness to be flexible, receptive to feedback and continuous improvement while working with a multi-disciplinary team.

• Curiosity about software development: Ability and willingness to learn about software development and tools such as Python, Pandas, Git, CI/CD, PowerQuery, Django. This is not required of the role but you will be working closely with the software development team.

The following is desirable, but not essential:

• Knowledge of PowerQuery / SQL, the ability to query data sets.

• An interest in the IPS practice area and how you can make a difference.

• Able to manage with ambiguity.

• Understanding of information security to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., GDPR).

• Experience in Django.

Growing Younger Team Roles – Mission Enabler (Children)

The Diocese of Durham is seeking proactive, dynamic and pioneering individuals with a passion for reaching and discipling emerging generations to be part of our new Growing Younger team of Mission Enablers.

The Growing Younger team will work collaboratively and creatively to enable the delivery of the Growing Younger stream of the Diocesan Transformation programme, with a specific focus on building mission and discipleship pathways for 0-25s, growing missional chaplaincy in FE colleges and schools, and raising up new youth and children’s leaders.

The successful candidates will each have a focused area of work (children, youth, young adults) and will work both individually and collectively to support the development and implementation of local mission initiatives, spending a substantial proportion of their time in parishes and deaneries to raise local aspirations, grow local vision and strategy, increase local capacity and pioneer local mission.

Our ISVAs work with clients currently residing in any London borough, or if the abuse was committed in any London borough. Some travel to London will be expected.
