Reporting to: Area Manager

Location of work: Flexible. This post holder will be based at home but daily travel to schools or other establishments within your allocated local area will be required including some early morning breakfast visits. The role will require irregular travel throughout the UK with minimal overnight stays. 

Contract type:  4 days / 28 hours per week term time only, although flexible hours may be considered. This role will involve early morning breakfast visits to schools or other establishments which you will need to be able to attend. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work

Salary: £31,500 FTE (Pro rata to £22,050)

BACKGROUND 

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. Providing breakfast ensures that children start their school day with the energy and nutrition they need to be able to make the most of their morning lessons.  Magic Breakfast also undertakes research, and campaigns for long-term solutions to end hunger as a barrier to learning.  

This is an exciting time at Magic Breakfast, as we have expanded our team to meet the challenge of ending morning hunger for now, and for good.

JOB PURPOSE 

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The Service Delivery team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of our breakfast provision. As Engagement Partner, you will work with relevant partners (schools, local authorities, parents, parent councils) to ensure that breakfast provision is optimized, encouraging reach and providing education on relevant topics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Pipeline development and cultivation:   

• To develop a relationship with the supported schools in their respective area, to enable, preserve, embed, enhance and extend stigma and barrier free breakfast pron.

• To educating and engage with the wider school community, including teachers, parents and children and young people on the importance of breakfast and implications of hunger as a barrier learning through various means including assemblies, staff meetings, online events and regional events throughout the academic year.

• To engage with the wider community to advocate for the importance of breakfast, the work that we are doing in existing schools and to support our campaigning and advocacy strategy and plans.

• To develop brand awareness in schools and local communities in line with our marketing strategy

• To support the recruitment of new schools with launching new breakfast provisions, adapting to the requirements of the school and children and young people, and advising on best practise

• To support any media requests as directed through the Policy & Engagement team

• To capture and report on “storytelling” to enable the organisation to utilise qualitative data to support external communication

• To explore, share and deliver on new engagement ideas across the department and organisation

• To enable, support and feedback on new ways of working, trials and innovations

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

Skills and abilities  

• Possess excellent communication skills, organisational skills and stakeholder management capabilities.

• High level of competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages and Salesforce or a similar CRM

• Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of the charity and education sector along with a commercial awareness.

• Good use of judgement in terms of when to escalate and when to delegate.  

• Confidence in using Microsoft Word IT packages.  

Knowledge and experience  

• Engagement with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, delivering presentations, assemblies, engagement events, both in person and online.

• Experience of customer support and an understanding and experience of influencing and making the case for change.

The role is based in St Helens and the co-ordinator will be expected to work at sites across the town and the surrounding area. The role involves planning, organising and running a range of activities, outings and events at different sites. Excellent administration, planning and time management skills are required.

You will visit people who are living with dementia and their carers and offer a person-centred approach to signpost them to activities and support that is available in the area. You will work closely with the Trust’s Welfare Officers, Admiral Nurse and external agencies.

You will be expected to identify areas for development within the service and to have a good knowledge of dementia services.

You will carry out regular reviews of the service to ensure it meets the needs of the people the service supports.

The role will involve recruiting, supporting and training volunteers to assist with activities.

You will manage expenditure within an agreed budget.

Key requirements for the role

· Applicants should hold or be willing to work towards the Certificate in Dementia Care or Awareness in Dementia at a            minimum of level 2. NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care would be an advantage.

· Applicants should have a minimum of 12 month’s experience of working with individuals with dementia.

· Ability to use Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.

· A full clean driving licence and use of own car is essential. Expenses will be paid for business mileage.

· An enhanced DBS check.

About the Role 

Sense is recruiting for a Senior Database Officer to join our fantastic team in King’s Cross, London. This is a permanent, hybrid role, working one day a week in the office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in meeting the department’s complex and varied data requirements.  This is a high-energy varied role and the post holder will be expected to manage and push forward multiple work activities simultaneously. This is an exciting time to be joining the team as we work towards moving over to Microsoft dynamics in March 2025 and the successful candidate will have a hand in shaping this work and support with the transition.

The main duties and responsibilities include: 

• Working with the Data Manager and all Supporter Engagement teams, the post holder will ensure data selections are delivered accurately, cleanly and on time working to an agreed process
• Proactively liaise with supporter facing teams to ensure clarity regarding upcoming selections and potential overlaps between audience groups
• Use this knowledge to champion the supporter’s interests during the planning and development phases of any and all campaigns
• Working with customer teams, produce accurate inclusion queries to extract data.
• Understand and maintain accurate suppression queries to ensure our compliance with both our legal responsibilities and the best practices expected by our supporters.
• Manipulate data exports to ensure consistent formatting and structures before releasing the selection to our internal stakeholders
• Perform quality control tasks on data selections to ensure accuracy before releasing the selection to our internal stakeholders

 
To succeed in this role, you will have: 

• Considerable experience of working with the Raiser’s Edge database with a demonstrable understanding of the single customer view
• Excellent understanding about how data can be used to drive a variety of disparate income streams with different audiences
• A track record of delivering multi segment data selections accurately and on time in a dynamic working environment
• A clear and demonstrable understanding of data protection regulations and other regulatory frameworks
• Sound understanding of direct marketing practices
• Experience of providing database training and documentation to users
• Excellent organisational skills with a logical and investigative approach to problem solving
• Excellent time management and co-ordination skills
• Experience manipulating and translating client requirements for data into a working technical framework with associated hierarchies and suppressions

About the role:

Volunteer Development Coordinator

Overview of Role:

The Marketing and Communications Officer will focus on producing high quality bilingual written and visual content across a range of media, including social media, web content, promotional emails, printed materials, press releases and feature articles.

Working within the marketing and communications team, you will be confident in translating CAT’s marketing and communications strategy and plan into written content for different platforms and publications. The role will provide support for the promotion of all areas of CAT’s work, including helping with online listings and other advertising, assisting with events at CAT and elsewhere.

You will have experience in copywriting and editing, with a demonstrable ability to adapt your copy to suit different platforms and audiences, as well as being a strong proofreader with a good eye for detail.

We often work to tight deadlines so you will be happy to work quickly and effectively to produce strong, impactful content in support of the marketing and communications strategy.

This is a key role in helping to support and promote CAT’s mission to inspire, inform and enable humanity to respond to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Duties specific to Marketing and Communications Officer

· Sourcing and production of high-quality content in support of communications and marketing plans.

· Working with the Digital Marketing Officer and Co-Heads of Marketing and Communications to plan out, write and edit social media content, including copy for multimedia formats.

· Plan and capture video and photo content from CAT’s activities for the purposes of promotion and communications.

· Support all aspects of CAT’s promotion, including attending events and fairs, placing adverts and updating online listings, and promotion through external mailing lists, flyers, posters and writing presentations.

· Regularly checking that on-site promotional materials are available and up-to-date.

The Experience Cloud Developer - TrustLaw will help to transform the TrustLaw Members’ Portal – developing features to take it from a simple platform, through which we connect high-impact NGOs and social enterprises with leading law firms and corporate legal teams, to an interactive ecosystem that also offers opportunities for learning, knowledge-sharing, innovation, networking and collaboration. 

The person in this role will design and develop the member-facing features housed in the TrustLaw Members’ Portal, including tools for members to apply, connect with each other, track the progress of their projects, view and engage with learning resources and reports, and easily access pro bono projects and support.

The person in this role will largely work independently to develop features, with some support/input from the Salesforce Administrator (who handles the TRF’s team-facing Salesforce instance) and Head of Design (who will provide design guidance and wireframes, as needed). 

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about using technology to improve a successful, global pro bono legal service that helps NGOs, social enterprises and lawyers drive social change. 

About the Role

As an Experience Cloud Developer at Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will:

• Work with the Head of Programmes, Portal Project Manager, and TrustLaw team to understand priorities and deliver on a road map for refining existing Members’ Portal features and developing new features.

• Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that meet the needs of TrustLaw’s members.

• Lead on all coding, integrations, and development work.

• Leverage out-of-the box Experience Cloud components and develop custom solutions for the TrustLaw Members’ Portal. Advise on how business requirements can be met with either point-and-click configuration or code and customization.

• Write and execute test plans, engage the TrustLaw team in testing, and ensure a high-quality solution is delivered.

• Work with the Head of Design, Head of UX and TrustLaw team to ensure the design, look, and feel of the Members’ Portal align with TRF brand standards and enable a positive user experience.

• Manage feature requests end-to-end from design to prototyping to QA to implementation

• Follow and understand new Experience Cloud product and technical capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions.

• Engage with TRF’s Product and Technology team to ensure development aligns with their technical standards and approaches, and that work is properly documented.

• Report to the Head of Technology in the Product and Technology team; have a dotted line to the Portal Project Manager in the TrustLaw team and work exclusively on the TrustLaw Portal project.

For example, the person in this role may focus on the following in their first three to six months:

• Enhance the look, design and functionality of current portal features, which were recently developed to a basic level by an external team via Experience Cloud. 

• Build connection and networking features for members

• Build and/or integrate new pages for TrustLaw members to 1) find upcoming events and 2) find/engage with learning resources, guides, and webinars

• Design and build an engaging impact dashboard for members to see the impact of their projects and refine the project results tracking tools in the portal

• Work with the Project Manager to sketch out the road map for Phase 2 portal development

About You

To be our Experience Cloud Developer, you will likely have:

• Have experience engaging with programmatic teams to translate business requirements into well-architected solutions

• Have experience building and refining community portals or features, ideally in the charity sector

• Be an experienced Salesforce developer with demonstrable skills and experience with Apex, Aura, JavaScript, Flows, Experience Cloud, and declarative Salesforce Lightning.

• Be comfortable with modern software development lifecycle standard methodologies including iterative and incremental development, delivering working software frequently with attention to technical excellence.

• Be familiar with advanced Apex programming concepts including core design patterns, limits and bulk patterns, efficient and reliable trigger handling, asynchronous operations and effective unit testing

• Have experience working on web apps, desktop apps, or mobile apps that require some design and UI work

• Have experience working independently without a large development team

• Have experience building out solutions based on requirements and acceptance criteria set by a business unit

• Strongly preferred to hold certifications in: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I, Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, Salesforce Certified Administrator, Experience Cloud Consultant I

• Nice-to-have certifications: Salesforce Platform Developer II

• Hold a Bsc in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience in a software development role.

Role duties and responsibilities:

Storytelling

• Working with colleagues across Alert’s programming, identify projects that demonstrate the impact of our work and the need for peacebuilding in the countries where we work.
• Coordinate the development of impact stories, photo essays, videos and other engaging methods of storytelling for use on our website, on social media, by the press and elsewhere.
• Write and edit impact stories, photo essays and video scripts, and draft occasional press releases and blogs.
• Create or edit simple video content
• Commission photographers, photojournalists and videographers to accompany and support country teams in developing stories of impact.
• Manage the dissemination plans for storytelling outputs, including via traditional media, and digital platforms including social media.
• Monitor media coverage of the organisation and compile a daily digest of key news stories relating to peace and conflict for sharing with staff.
• Assist the Head of Communications and Media with monitoring the media email account and media phone, including out-of-hours media calls.
• Maintaining and advising on consent for stories and imagery

Publications

• Project manage the production of high-quality publications for teams in London and our overseas offices, including process management and supplier relations.
• Liaise with external vendors, including editors, translators, graphic designers, printers and photographers.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure that all publications are completed and signed off in a timely manner.
• Plan and co-ordinate the delivery and launch of publications.
• Draft key messages about our publications for the website, social media, newsletters, press releases and other channels.
• Lead on the procurement of suppliers, including recruiting new ones and managing the contracting process.
• Assist with the financial management of publications production by monitoring and processing invoices.

Events coordination

• Lead on the delivery of external corporate events (in-person and online), especially for the launch of new research. Appropriate support, resources and workload would be considered.

Quality control and branding

• Ensure all communications outputs comply with our brand identity, house style and quality standards.

• Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of Alert’s influencing and communications strategies and work plans.
