Soteria London is a Community Interest Company (CIC) whose mission is to create compassionate alternatives for individuals experiencing crisis and distress, especially for those experiencing altered states, often called psychosis,  and their families and social networks. We are part of a larger network in the UK and abroad, which promotes the Soteria model of personal relationships, interactive activities and communities with the minimal use of psychiatric medication within a comfortable “living community” as opposed to a conventional psychiatric setting.

We are looking for a  part-time Community Development Worker to help grow supportive communities for people experiencing altered states, often called psychosis, and their families and social networks. in North London with a specific focus on Haringey/Camden/Islington. The role will focus on mapping and building neighbourhood communities that offer kinder alternatives to mainstream services,  and will involve working closely with individuals, their families and social networks.

We are planning to submit a bid in April 2025 for a 24/7 Community Mental Health Pilot as set out in the NHS England invitation and the Community Development Worker will play a key role in growing partnerships and facilitating the community led development of this bid. The successful candidate will employ compassionate, empowering, and community-centred social justice approaches that address racial, gender, and class inequities.

The freelance role include:

● Creating inclusive communities of support, that value diversity and cultural sensitivity, to support people in crisis and distress, especially people experiencing altered states, often called psychosis, and their families and social networks, with a focus on Haringey/Camden/Islington

● Building new and strengthening existing relationships with like-minded individuals and organisations

● Setting up a Soteria supportive central hub or community space to facilitate activities and collaborations

● Help people find their voice through creative, artistic and well-being and somatic initiatives, such as our "Soteria in the Pub" program and body work sessions.

● Promoting collaborative learning through events and sharing sessions to explore and reflect on existing and historical compassionate, empowering and community focused approaches to supporting people in crisis and distress and their families and networks, to identify what may work in our local communities in Haringey/Camden/Islington

● Exploring options for piloting support to individuals and their families and networks in their own homes - a ‘Soteria at Home’ approach

● Developing and gathering feedback on a pilot approach to supporting  individuals who wish to reduce or cease their medications.

● Identifying the learning and training needs for the proposed areas of work that have come through our collaborative piloting, learning and reflection. These include the requirements for operating a Soteria House and a Soteria at Home approach; exploring and developing various forms of peer support, including models like Hearing Voices, Open Dialogue, and Intentional Peer Support.

● Drawing on the activities above to develop a bid for an exciting NHS England 24/7 Community Mental Health pilot project where people are in control of their own care, as well as exploring other possible funding options for our proposed areas of work

As part of our work, we provide comprehensive support services for victims and survivors of Domestic Abuse (DA) in Hillingdon. Our Specialist DA service offers personalised one-to-one support through dedicated Caseworkers. These Caseworkers conduct assessments to establish risk and well-being levels using the DASH SafeLives checklist and Empowerment Star assessment. They collaborate with the service user to develop a personalised safety plan, offering critical safety advice, assistance with accessing accommodation, referrals for legal advice, and connections to other statutory agencies, including the local authority, police, MARAC team, and mental health services. The role of the Caseworker is to inform women of their rights and options, empowering them to make informed decisions. This includes providing practical advice, dispelling myths, developing action plans, and offering longer-term support post-separation. The successful candidate will also be required to support the delivery of our Pathways to Healing DA recovery programme.

Key responsibilities

Delivering services to children and young people

Job Purpose  

To develop and manage your own portfolio of existing trusts, community and individual donors, and research and prioritise new opportunities ensuring high quality stewardship to secure ongoing support. This role will focus on producing high-quality applications and reports to funders and by providing excellent account management and cross-team collaboration.     

Responsibilities  

Trust Fundraising  

• Develop, manage, and maintain a trust fundraising portfolio with a clear, scheduled pipeline of funding applications, coordinating opportunities and team resources to meet targets. 

• Cultivate strong working relationships with current and new trust and foundations, proactively seeking meetings. 

• Collaborate with colleagues to create compelling proposals and reports. 

• Work with monitoring and finance colleagues to inform impact and budgetary needs, ensuring timely reporting to donors in line with their grant conditions. 

• Build resilient, long-term relationships with identified supporters, keeping them well-informed about events, campaigns, projects, and the charity itself, to foster a strong sense of belonging to Village Water. 

• Use multiple research methods and communication channels to build and manage a prospective donor pipeline. 

• Research and write applications to grant-making trusts, targeting an amount in line with Village Water's annual budget, with an emphasis on securing unrestricted funds where possible. 

• Maintain legacy communications and promote legacy options to our long-standing supporters. 

• Ensure all information on your portfolio of donors is well stewarded, recorded, and actioned in Village Water's database.

Skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable success in securing grants, including awards between £20-£100k.

• Proven experience in writing compelling cases for support and supporter updates that inspire and persuade donors. 

• Ability to develop, analyse, and interpret budgets and financial information. 

• Strong database skills, including experience in fundraising performance analysis.

The Media Assistant supports delivering communications, projects, and events based on
the wider CCX organisational vision for the Media Team. It is their role to work closely with
the communications specialist and other relevant stakeholders to ensure information is

Duties and Accountabilities

Principal
● Social - management of organisational business apps used to plan, schedule and
post social assets across CCX social channels; overseeing community management -
responding to any messages and supporting growth of our CCX community and
followers.
● Emails - collate information to create, schedule and deliver weekly/monthly emails;
monitor CCX inboxes and respond accordingly; update relevant external
communications teams and events pages

As a Money and Debt Coach (Omni-Channel: Telephone & Video), your primary role will be
to provide financial coaching and ensure that over-indebted clients receive tailored debt
advice through various channels. The role is based at Guy's Hospital - Great Maze Pond, London SE1 9RT

Scope of role

1. Providing tailored financial advice and support.
2. To maintain detailed case records.
3. Keep up to date with legislation, policies and procedures and undertake appropriate training.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accurate, effective and individually tailored advice
2. Deliver financial capability workshops at various NHS sites, promoting financialresilience and wellbeing.
3. Provide money coaching advice through various channels including face-to-face, video, and telephone sessions.
4. Complete assessments which lead to appropriate referral to an in house debt adviser
5. Interviewing those that access the service using sensitive listening andquestioning skills to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to

   set their own priorities.

6. Signposting/referring clients to internal and other agencies where required. Issuing foodbank vouchers.

Detailed case records

1. Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder.
2. Ensuring all case records and written up in a timely manner.
3. Monitor and report on client engagement and outcomes from advice sessions.
4. Familiarity with CRM systems and practices (Customer Relationship Management system).
5. Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions within the time limits, follow up to ensure resolution.

Up-to-date training

1. Completing a minimum of 16 hours of technical CPD accredited training orqualifying activity.

Learning Disability Caseworker

Mencap are recruiting for a Learning Disability Caseworker (LDC) to give advice on welfare benefits, housing, health and community care, to people with a learning disability, their families, carers and professionals working with them. 

The Learning Disability Caseworker role will be based at home, with occasional travel to casework venues and our Peterborough office. This role will be full time (37.5 hours) on a fixed term contract until March 2026. 

Mencap is committed to providing good quality information and advice casework, enabling people with a learning disability and their families to access critical service and support. The casework service is outcomes focused and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the positive impact that their casework has on individuals and families. 

Do you have the key skills for a Learning Disability Caseworker?

• Level 3 qualification in giving advice or an equivalent relevant qualification.

The Role

The post holder will provide administrative support to all aspects of National Voices work from a governance and operational perspective. Responsibilities include supporting our Board and committees, supporting our finances, human resources,  contract, grants and project management, and our governance.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about what an organisation needs to run well, but we are looking for someone who already has some experience of working in an administrative, operational or financial role. Working in a small organisation you will work closely with the senior leadership, trustees and a wide range of stakeholders. We can provide training on any of the more technical skills (book-keeping, annual reporting, HR) – we are looking for aptitude, a willingness to learn and an ability to confidently work with a range of systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Governance

Support administrating governance across the charity, working closely with our Director of Operations & Finance, Trustees, and senior management.

· Support our Audit and Risk Committee

· Support the CEO’s EA (Executive Assistant) in the organisation of our Annual General Meeting

· Work with the EA to the CEO to ensure an effective approach to managing the Board of Trustees, its meetings, policies and inductions

Financial management

The post holder will manage the day-to-day finances of our busy team, working closely with our by our Director of Finance and Operations. This will involve:

· Raise invoices and follow up on payment issues

· Support our day-to-day banking including setting up payments and undertaking bank reconciliations

· Process expenses, ensuring compliance with policy

Business systems and processes

Support the team by maintaining fit for purpose systems, premises, and processes for HR, project management and office management.

HR/Personnel

· Support the team with recruitment and onboarding of new staff

· Maintain and support the use of our HR platform capturing absence and compliance

Systems and premises

· Assist the EA with the management of the day-to-day relationship with our serviced office provider

· Support staff with using the office and facilities, including ordering stationary and refreshments, setting up passes, booking meeting rooms etc.

· Manage incoming mail

Events

· Support our events programme working closely with the EA to provide cover where needed, leading on some events and supporting across our entire events programme.

· Provide technical support to events and larger meetings

· Supporting the creation and editing of materials for events and presentations

· Be prepared to cover for full day events as and when necessary

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

As Global Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer, you will support PEAS country level MEL teams in fulfilling their learning objectives in relation to delivering our school improvement technical assistance programme to non-PEAS partner schools. The MEL Officer will be part of the Global Technical Team, and will contribute to the team’s primary objectives to boost the efficacy and impact of the organisation's initiatives across Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana.

We are looking for an individual with significant MEL experience, ideally in relation to education programmes in low resource settings of Uganda, Zambia, and/or Ghana. Experience in fulfilling institutional donor requirements is desirable, ideally to include USAID and/or FCDO.

You will be highly experienced in working with data, and have strong data analysis skills. Philanthropy Officer - Remote / Hybrid Working

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference through the playing a vital role in our Philanthropy Team. 
Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager this role is responsible for working alongside their line manager, wider team and operational colleagues to write and support applications to trusts and foundations for funding.

The role also plays a key role in the stewardship of our trust and foundation supporters, building strong and meaningful relationships with these organisations and individuals.  Whilst not a key focus of this role, the post holder may also be required to support the Philanthropy Team’s wider work including corporate and major donor approaches.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled trusts and foundations officer to play a key role in building on the successes of our trusts and foundations programme.  With passion for both writing and supporter stewardship you will be able to write persuasively and build meaningful relationships with those who support us. Working well as a team player you will work closely with both the wider Philanthropy Team and operational colleagues to support local applications as appropriate. 

You will have a track record of delivering efficiently and effectively. You focus on insight, stewardship and persuasive writing to get the right result for the organisation and building lasting and substantial relationships with funders. You will also be an effective communicator developing trusting relationships across the organisation and with our funders and supporters, taking everyone with you on the journey.
