We're seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our TST Move-On team as a Move On Caseworker. In this role you will be supporting clients on the TST RSI programme who are ready to move on and live independently by assisting them to access the best properties for their needs, preparing them for move on and ensuring a smooth transition to the new home.

Every day will be different, drawing on your wide range of skills to empower clients with the tools they need to secure and sustain their move on property.

About the role:

As a Move-On Team Caseworker you will be responsible for helping the team in the development of new housing pathways for our clients, increasing the volume of properties being made available to our services clients, as well as sustaining and developing the relationships already in place with Housing Providers and landlords. You will work with clients to prepare them to access, secure and sustain their new home when they are ready to move on. This includes supporting clients with registrations, bidding, viewings, sign-ups and all aspects of their move.

In your role, you will undertake assessments to identify the readiness of our clients to access independent accommodation and to help them resettle into their new tenancies, which will include practical elements of independent living such as paying rent, setting up and managing utilities, liaising with landlords and other agencies. Additionally, you will support and advise TST colleagues on move-on options and in working with clients to be move-on ready.

• Can work effectively with people who have lived experience of homelessness, substance use and mental / physical health concerns.
• Able to undertake assessments and work with a person centred approach to empower clients and engage with them in achieving agreed goals.

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Academic Dean, the Head of Applied Theology will be responsible for the development, delivery and management of the Vocational and HE Programmes for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Formation, in addition to other programmes developed under this faculty, maintaining a standard of excellence across the full range of service and product delivery.

MA Spiritual Formation Programme Key Tasks

- To be responsible for the structure, delivery and management of the Spiritual Formation programme. Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Spiritual Formation Programme, reviewing, maintaining and developing the programme;
- Act as link tutor to the Universities in accordance with their guidance on Link Tutor responsibilities;
- Maintain the integrity and ethos of the Waverley Integrative Framework o Assist Waverley Abbey College as required in its annual budget process, keeping spending commitments in line with Waverley Abbey College’s agreed budget;
- Establish and maintain fair systems for student assessments, including:
- Initial selection of students, taking due account of standards and admission procedures;
- Maintaining standards in grading; and
- Ensuring tutorial support and oversight of students’ personal development.
- To support, encourage, develop and manage the tutorial team for Spiritual Formation, assisting tutors to deliver courses to the highest standard. Responsibilities include:
- selection of Module Leaders and team tutors, in consultation with the Academic Dean & Vice Principal;
- selection of other associates (visiting lecturers, retreat leaders); and
- continued oversight of tutors and associates, including team-building and individual appraisal and feedback;
- To be responsible for the welfare, spiritual well-being and psychological safety of the Spiritual Formation Programme students, within the parameters of the course. Responsibilities include:
- dealing with student complaints and grievances, and handling any cases of academic misconduct, in line with Waverley Abbey College policies and procedures;
- To continue personal professional development through professional conferences, further education and training, etc.
- Attendance at Waverley Abbey College Team meetings, Academic Boards, Programme Boards, Exam Boards and events such as Open Days and Graduation Days;
- Liaison with the Association of Waverley Abbey Minister’s (AWAM) to signpost students for affiliation;

Operations

On-site at Glass Door Night shelter venues in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham or Wandsworth

20 October 2024 to late April 2025 

Shifts from 6:45pm or 9:45pm to 7.15am (plus additional time if allocated driver). Hours and days of work will vary according to the needs of the service.

We are looking to recruit exceptional individuals with an open, collaborative style and a practical, can-do approach to provide a vital nightly service for our guests as Overnight Project Workers.

While experience of working within the homelessness sector or with similarly vulnerable people would be desirable, an understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness and working in a compassionate and flexible manner is more important and essential.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that will include weekends and public holidays. Due to the vulnerable group you will be working with, you will be asked to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding measures prior to appointment.

Please note:

Some of our Overnight Project Workers are required to have a driving licence and be able to drive a manual vehicle.

However, this post also is still suitable for those that want a non-driving role.

On each shift, one of the two Overnight Project Workers will be an allocated driver and is expected to drive the van back to its local base in Fulham or Wandsworth, depending on the shelter circuit. The allocated driver for the shift will receive an additional hour of pay for this task.

What you will do as part of our team

The Overnight Project Worker is responsible for the following:

Job spec

• Maintaining a friendly, supportive environment and cultivating positive relationships with guests, colleagues, and volunteers.
• Following best practice procedures for the security and safety of the guests and volunteers.
• Diffusing difficult or dangerous situations and summon assistance when necessary. Training will be provided. Writing regular shift reports using the In-Form client relationship platform.
• Carrying out regular checks around the shelter, checking conditions of all areas.
• Ensuring that the van is loaded correctly with shelter provisions and that no Glass Door belongings are left on site.
• Adhering to Glass Door’s operational and health & safety policies in all aspects of your work. Maintaining clear lines of communication with your colleagues including the Night Shelter Manager, Caseworkers, and the Operations Manager.
• Ensuring cleaning protocols are followed and implemented.
• Undertaking any other duties to aid the good running of the project, as required by the Shelter Manager or Operations Manager.
• Accurately reporting observations, interactions, concerns and actions with guests to their caseworker using written reports.
• Setting up and help serve a simple breakfast for guests in the morning
• Ensuring all guests are woken from 6am onwards and leave the building by 7am
• Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.

On occasions you will also be expected to attend training, team meetings and other activities as required. The allocated driver is expected to drive the van back to its allocated base at the end of the shift to which an additional hour of pay applies for this task.

Administrator

Hours: 35 hours per week (full time) / or 0.8 FTE (part time)

About the role: 

This is a varied role providing vital support to NACCOM and its members. The role includes but not limited to operational duties such as the day-to-day running of the general (remote) office, updating software systems, minute taking for regular meetings, financial administration tasks.  As well as network development administration support including new membership application administration and providing administrative support for our member events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Description

The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Essex and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information. 

The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support.  You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

• To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.

• To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone. 

• To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.

• To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.

• To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.

• To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.
