Purpose of the role

Are you passionate about providing grants to ground-breaking environmental charities around the world? This role offers the chance to develop and manage a portfolio of grants dedicated to this subject area. The broad themes of the programme are: the regulation and reduction of harmful chemicals and pollution; Protecting human health and biodiversity in environmental planning (including though promoting good environmental governance) and regulating harmful impacts of business and development projects. The Environment programme has a budget of approximately £7m in 2024.

Relationships and reporting lines

The Programme Officer will report to the Environment Programme Manager and will work closely with members of the Environment programme team, as well as the Executive and Deputy Executive Directors on matters of strategy. Additional key relationships include interaction with the Trustees, as well as collaboration with the Trust’s other programme officers and operations staff.

Main duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to manage all stages of the grant making process, from invitation to application, award and reporting.

Programme Officer Duties:

• Making a contribution to the vision for and strategic direction of the Trust’s environmental grant-making portfolio;
• Identifying potential grant applicants by researching organisations in fields of interest to the Trust, networking and attending relevant events;
• Reviewing submitted applications, interviewing potential grantees, undertaking due diligence and preparing analytical reports and recommendations for Trustees;
• Reviewing reports submitted by grantees, evaluating and reporting on the impact of grants and signing off on grant payments;
• Managing the grant making pipeline to ensure efficiency of processes and an appropriate balance of recommendations across the Trust’s grant making meetings;
• Maintaining relationships and regular communication with grantees, including site visits and attendance at grantee events;
• Keeping informed of relevant developments including civil society activity, the regulatory environment and academic literature;
• Developing relationships with other donors and stakeholders in the field; and
• Representing the Trust externally at national and international conferences.

Other Duties:

• Carrying out similar duties for other programme areas as needed; 
• Conducting research into particular thematic or funding related issues relevant for the Trust as needed;
• Such other duties as the Trust may reasonably require.

QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with Greenpeace UK in their search for a strategic leader to oversee its Key Relationships Team, actively engage with Greenpeace’s organisational leadership – contributing to key initiatives around inclusivity, anti-racism, and broader accountability – and lead the UK’s 2025 contribution to the global capital campaign. This role ofers the chance to make a significant impact by leading a high-performing team and playing a key role in Greenpeace’s overall leadership.

You will lead a talented Key Relationships Team of twelve, responsible for raising nearly £15.5 million annually from major donors, legacies, and mid-level giving. Your leadership will maintain the team’s strong performance while driving growth, including the UK’s contribution towards Greenpeace’s global capital campaign in 2025.

The capital campaign is a global effort to raise €100 million by 2028, funding the construction of a new ship and the environmental campaigns it will support. For 2025, the UK’s target is to secure £4 million, split equally between the ship’s construction and supporting key environmental campaigns.

As a strategic leader, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Greenpeace UK and internationally, playing a key role in driving organisational fundraising performance, cultural initiatives, and Greenpeace’s overall strategic direction.

As Deputy Fundraising Director, Key Relationships, you will: 

• Collaborate with senior leadership across Greenpeace UK and International to align on key strategies and deliver shared outcomes.
• Lead a high-performing team responsible for raising £15.5 million from major gifts, legacies, and mid-level giving.
• Guide the Key Relationship team’s UK contribution to Greenpeace’s €100 million global capital campaign, raising £4 million in 2025.
• Support the team in developing and managing current and prospective relationships with high-value donors.

Person specification:

ESSENTIAL:

• Extensive experience of establishing and sustaining relationships with senior-level external stakeholders and/or funders.
• Cross-organisational collaboration experience, with a proven ability to work effectively with senior internal stakeholders, driving collaboration and strategic alignment.
• A strategic leader with experience overseeing high-value income streams.
• Expertise in relationship fundraising in the charity/NFP sector and a proven track record of delivering six-figure income from high-value donors.
• Demonstrable experience of leading, managing, motivating, and inspiring high-performing teams, including managing managers.
• Strong budget management skills and experience delivering against financial targets.
• A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism, with a willingness to continually learn and foster a positive and inclusive culture.

DESIRABLE:

• Capital campaign experience would be advantageous.
• Track record of securing seven-figure donations.
• Experience of overseeing legacy functions – public facing campaigns, prospecting, stewardship and administration.
• Ability and willingness to travel overseas for short periods, with occasional unsocial hours as required.
• Experience of overseeing a celebrity and key influencer function.

We have two exciting opportunities for two Qualified and/ or Trainee Multidisciplinary Advocates to join our established and friendly Advocacy Team. Both positions are permanent, requiring commitment on weekdays between the hours of 9 and 5. Main Purpose and Scope of the job

To support the Head of People with the provision of consistent and reliable Human Resources support in relation to policies and practices and with the practical application of employment law.

You will actively engage with managers to bring employee relation issues to resolution and proactively monitor trends and themes across the organisation. and will play a key part in the employee lifecycle with emphasis on recruitment processes, attraction and retention.

​You will provide coaching and support to line managers in relation to all aspects of early or informal employee relations including but not limited to; Probation, performance management and capability processes, grievance and disciplinary investigations. You will Actively provide guidance to staff and managers through employee relation processes seeking early resolutions and restorative conversations in the first instance. Actively take the lead on formal employee relation case work such as grievances, suspensions, investigations and present at hearings.

Reporting and monitoring of sickness/absence levels, advising line managers to ensure a consistent approach is taken to reduce absenteeism.  Oversee all Stage 1,2 and 3 absence meetings and OH reports where required.

Be integral to all organisational change developments including recommendations for change, structure and job design.  Ensure organisational change is managed sensitively and in line with policy and employment law. Assist on organisational restructures and TUPE regulations in times of expansion and growth.

Actively contribute to policy development in line with employment law and best practice.

About this job

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Safeguarding professional, with a strong interest in protecting adults at risk and children from harm, within the wider Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Community?

Based within our Helpline Services team, you’ll have responsibility for:

• Responding to concerns reported by staff and volunteers
• Leading the coordination of responding to safeguarding concerns
• Dealing with safeguarding issues (as they arise) and liaising with statutory services as needed
• Giving advice and support to colleagues and our volunteers in relation to safeguarding and disclosure checking
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the society
• Liaising with external safeguarding agencies
• Embedding organisational safeguarding policies, procedures and practices across the society

You’ll have experience of working in a safeguarding customer-facing environment within the Charity or Public Service sectors. You’ll have proficient administrative and IT skills with the ability to work accurately, consistently and independently. You’ll ideally have had experience in supporting vulnerable people in person, over the phone and or online.

An understanding of safeguarding within the Charity and Public Service sectors is essential.

Location: Role may involve some working from home on occasion, but majority of the hours will be supporting volunteers in our office in Anerley, plus attending face to face meetings and events in Bromley Borough and occasionally in London. 

Hours: 14 hours per week (part-time), around volunteer availability and access needs.

Salary: £27,000 per year pro rata to 14 hours per week

• Support volunteers to successfully undertake a programme of induction training, agree ongoing task plans for each volunteer to monitor progress, carry out regular one to one meetinghs with volunteers and providing practical support for volunteers to deliver specific tasks and mini projects.
• Co-ordinate regular volunteer team meetings, review volunteer management policies and procedures, take a lead on initiatives such as volunteers week events and volunteer fayres and keep up-to-date records about volunteers and individual progress.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Project Indigo, an LGBTQIA+ youth project run out of Off Centre at Family Action that fosters a safe space and sense of community amongst LGBTQIA+ young people in Hackney.  We support young people aged 16 to 25 through offering them a weekly facilitated social space and 1-to-1 support and advice sessions.  Having run for almost a decade, Project Indigo is well known in Hackney, and works alongside local LGBTQIA+ projects, as well as mental health and youth services.  Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to address the barriers they face in accessing training and development opportunities.

We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQIA+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQIA+ people in the local community.  You will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who registered with a City and Hackney GP.  These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings, targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH), and an Information and Advice provision.

Main Responsibilities:

· You will develop and lead Project Indigo’s new Peer Mentoring Programme.

· You will understand young mentors’ needs and goals, and provide high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process.

· You will develop a structure for the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, finding appropriate partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.

· You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQIA+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.

· You will be a confident communicator with proven experience of working in a supportive role with LGBTQIA+ young people[SR3]  and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQIA+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.

· You will be empathetic and maintain an understanding of the social issues impacting young LGBTQIA+ people.

· You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively.

· You will have an understanding of risk management, health and safety issues and the ability in accordance with local and organisational safeguarding policies.

Main Duties - Recruitment

• Identify resourcing requirements across the charity by liaising regularly with internal stakeholders to ensure resourcing needs are understood and met. Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their needs and enhance the recruitment process.
• Create inspiring, bespoke and innovative recruitment campaigns to attract candidates who align with our values using timely and cost effective processes that meet safer and inclusive recruitment practices
• Utilise all avenues to positively promote the organisation to increase visibility and make it easy for candidates to apply. This includes social media, job boards, networking, application processes and events.
• Organise and join interviews with Support Workers and other roles where required, continuously review approaches with the aim to improve the effectiveness of the current recruitment selection exercises
• Ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance through full, complete and timely administration of all recruitment documentation
• Manage and lead, in collaboration with the HR team, the end to end onboarding process ensuring excellent and welcoming candidate engagement during on-boarding. Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout  the on-boarding and induction processes, reducing “drop outs” and supporting retention 
• Working with senior managers to ensure the induction process truly supports new starters, in order to increase retention rates
• To utilise current trends, data and feedback on recruitment processes to drive continuous improvement

Main Duties - Development

• To be the main point of contact in regards to all learning and development matters. To work collaboratively with senior managers and the HR team to continually review our current training offer (internal and external) to ensure it is aligned to our industry and fit for purpose
• To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and to ensure our targets for the training year are met. Work with the HR team to utilise training metrics and feedback from staff to report on trends or improvements.
• Attend monthly training meetings to contribute ideas and recommendations to senior management in relation to developments within the L&D strategy
• To be the main point of contact with the development and delivery of the Apprenticeship framework. Supporting managers and participants through the program, to achieve development and coaching objectives
• Collaborate with Senior Managers and the HR team to assess training needs, to design and create succession plans and career pathways for all staff in the organisation

 Person Specification

• Previous experience of leading and managing safer recruitment campaigns ideally in this industry
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow safer recruitment processes
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally
• Excellent IT skills in Microsoft applications relevant to role
• Previous experience of a training and development role with marketing skills including the usage of social media
• An understanding of employment law relevant to recruitment and GDPR
• Able to work with a collaborative approach, with creative and innovative approaches, an excellent team player and positive role model

Transport for All is looking for a Senior Research Officer to lead and facilitate a range of comprehensive research initiatives with various partners, including government, universities and charities.

You will support our work on Justice in Practice: where disabled people’s lived experience is meaningfully embedded, appropriately compensated, and responded to in the transport sector and beyond. We have a bold plan for the next five years and need someone who can support the team to deliver in line with our values.

You will be part of a unique, disabled-led research and training team who are dedicated to removing barriers to transport for disabled people. This role is focused on responding to the lived experience of our diverse community and using research and training to drive change. You will also oversee research projects, such as the National Accessibility Transport Survey and support the impact of Transport for All through high-quality analysis and reporting.

Recent projects including collaborating with Sustrans on the Disabled Citizens Inquiry into Walking and Wheeling; facilitating product testing by disabled people of an external organisation’s app for planning barrier-free walking, wheeling and cycling routes; and grant-funded research into removing barriers to accessing transport concessionary schemes.

Design workshop content and materials that are informative, interactive, and engaging, incorporating a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches to recover from the trauma of witnessing or being a victim of crime Provide practical strategies and tools that trusted adults can apply in their interactions with children and young people to promote their emotional well-being. Develop and delivery training that raises the standards of work with young people for youth workers across our membership.
