As our digital communications and engagement manager, you’ll take an editorial role in ensuring our website is accessible and regularly updated with relevant and engaging content. You’ll lead on scheduling the send out of newsletter, advocacy, and fundraising emails to our mailing list and ensure they’re as engaging as they can be. And you’ll use our software to create digital tools allowing our supporters to take meaningful action.
Whether it’s donating to our cause or emailing local politicians, you’ll be the person who inspires people to take action on climate.
In our small comms team, there is a lot of crossover between roles, so you will also occasionally be asked to pitch into other functions across the team such as social media and press, and take joint responsibility for some of our administrative work. But don’t worry, we can train you up on this!
Working with others in the Possible team, you’ll take a proactive approach to deepening engagement among our existing supporters, and attracting new people to our campaigns through our website and digital tools. You’ll also be invited to contribute to general marketing, media, outreach, fundraising and campaign strategy. And everyone at Possible chips in to make the tea, take out the bins and do the washing up, or the virtual equivalent, so there’s that too.
Our core working days are Tuesdays and Wednesday, which means everyone works these days to make sure we have enough time to connect with each other. We usually work 9.30-5.30pm but staff can use flexitime to work the hours that work for them depending on the day, within reason i.e. 8-4pm or split shifts for the school run. Our all team meetings mostly run 10-1pm and smaller team meetings are usually in the afternoon.

We have an opportunity for a Customer Specialist Manager - Housing to join our team in Newbury.

The role
As a Customer Specialist manager you'll be leading, motivating and empowering your team to deliver advice and outcomes to customers with complex housing issues. You'll ensure that the team provide prompt responses, looking for first time resolutions and taking ownership of cases from end to end.

What you'll need:

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer
Location: Hybrid working (2-3 days office based in King’s Cross Mon, Thurs and possibly Fri)
Hours: 37.5 (full time)

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Gateshead and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.
Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Book keeping & Finance processes
- Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
- Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
- Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
- Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
- Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
- Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
- Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.
Fundraising
- Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.
- Contributing to the wider teams fundraising efforts through networking, and involvement in fundraising and community events.
Reporting
- Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.
- Leading monthly budget reporting meetings for Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees, using analytical skills to highlight patterns or potential risks or problems arising.
- Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.
Payroll
- Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
- Setting up and running pension payments each month.
- Paying NI payments each month.
General administration
- Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
- Sending letters and emails as required.
- Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
- Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL

YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 100 animal protection organisations across 75 countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specialising in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.
The Humane League is seeking a tenacious, determined, and well-organised individual with the drive to create progressive change for millions of farmed animals. The Temporary OWA Europe Regional Lead (Maternity Cover) is responsible for carrying out all aspects of our coalition’s work in Europe. This includes strengthening the OWA’s presence in Europe, developing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with OWA and partner organisations, empowering groups to coordinate regional campaigns, overseeing grants made in the region, and supporting groups in advancing institutional campaign work in their countries. Many Europe-based OWA groups are focused on the European Chicken Commitment (ECC) and broiler chicken welfare, although some remain focused on securing cage-free commitments.
As Temporary OWA Europe Regional Lead, you will be part of the OWA Member Support team, a small, high-impact team that specialises in coalition and capacity building. The team fits within the Global Programs department at The Humane League. The department has a strong understanding of corporate outreach and campaigning for improved corporate policies by multinational food businesses, and we leverage that knowledge to strengthen the global animal protection movement through the OWA. The Temporary OWA Europe Regional Lead role reports to the Director of the Open Wing Alliance.
This is a temporary, full-time, remote position requiring international travel, equivalent to approximately 3-4 week-long trips per year. This is a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave for up to 15 months. Employment is expected to begin on approximately October 7, 2024 and end on approximately December 31, 2025. The duration of employment may be extended or shortened at The Humane League’s discretion. The Humane League is not the employer of record (EOR) for this position; the successful candidate will enter an employment agreement with a local EOR with whom The Humane League partners.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategy

Lead, manage, and develop all OWA membership activity across Europe.

Work closely with OWA members to coordinate on corporate outreach and campaign targets and actions.

Develop the internal OWA strategy, informed by research, current events, and collaboration with other organisations. Research and stay abreast of developments in corporate relations strategy.

Observe and work with other organisations to learn new approaches, and share or coordinate strategies with Europe-based OWA groups.

Contribute to the OWA Europe grants program, including supporting and monitoring the efficacy of grantees.
Communication

Youth Realities is an award-winning specialist charity supporting young survivors of abuse and violence aged 11-25, operating as one of the only services in the UK exclusively addressing adolescent relationship abuse through prevention, intervention and healing.
The Senior IDVA is a critical role that will sit within the wider IDVA team, managing a caseload of medium-high risk young women and girls (maxium seven at any one time), whilst holding leadership capacities as the charities Designated Safeguard Lead, overseeing IDVA case reviews and referrals into the service.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
1:1 SUPPORT
Youth Realities provides specialist 1:1 Support and Advocacy, delivered by a team of trained IDVAs, to young women, girls, non-binary and trans young women aged between 11-25. Young people engaged will present with a range of needs including experiences of intimate partner and relationship abuse, sexual violence/ abuse, criminal and sexual exploitation and other forms of intra and extra-familial harm.
IDVAs will engage young people in regular weekly, fortnightly or adhoc support including immediate crisis intervention, harm reduction, emotional wellbeing and long-term practical development. The support is offered for up to 18 months and young people can remain engaged with the charity beyond this point via various community activities.
Each IDVA supports up to 10 young people at any one time, and support can be delivered from a place of safety, including: Youth Realities community space (Barnet, NW9), other community locations (cafes, community centres), places of education or when deemed safe and necessary, the home of the young person.
As Senior IDVA and DSL, this role includes direct delivery and caseload safeguarding oversight, and capacity is restricted to an individual caseload of 7 young people at any one time.
YOUR ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Caseload management
To engage up to 7 young people in specialist, targeted 1:1 IDVA support to address existing or previous experiences of violence or abuse. This includes relationship building, session coordination, advocacy within required spaces such as education, health and justice, and completing robust safety plans, risk and need assessments as required.
Safeguarding
It is the responsibility of each IDVA to manage and be accountable for the individual safeguarding of those they are supporting, and it is expected that each IDVA will operate within all outlined guidance and policies set by Youth Realities when doing this. As Designated Safeguard Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and making the final decisions on all escalated safeguarding concerns, including: responses to immediate or imminent harm that exceed the remit or specialisms of individual IDVAs, making recommendations and final decisions of external safeguarding referrals, i.e to MASH or MARAC, if this is required, and supporting with the establishment of Individual Risk Assessments where needed.
You will be required to meet weekly with each individual IDVA, for a recommended time of 30 minutes, to discuss any updates to each case, including reviewing outstanding actions, checking the status of Individual Risk Assessments and Safety Plans each IDVA is responsible for establishing, and making decisions on case closures.
You will be required to represent Youth Realities as DSL in external conferences, meetings and events, such as VAWG Forums, Safeguarding Children Partnerships and Vulnerable Adolescent Risk Panels, as capacity permits.
You will be required to be available, whether in person or via phone, during the time of session delivery in case there is a safeguarding issue to address. This responsibility will be shared with the Deputy Safeguard Lead (DDSL) during periods of absence (annual leave, sickness etc.).
You will be requested to give feedback on policies, structures and processes regarding safeguarding in an advisory capacity, though will not hold responsibility for the establishment of such documentation.
Referrals
You will be the first point of contact for all referral agencies into the charity, and will be responsible for processing and allocating referrals into the 1:1 programme as and when they are received. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. Fundraising
- Work closely with the Director and Programme Director to oversee the review, development and delivery of our fundraising strategy.
- Undertake research to identify potential new sources of funding from a variety of sources.
- Support and where appropriate lead on the writing of funding applications for core and project funding.
- Develop written case for support documents (such as case studies, needs-based analysis) that can be used for a variety funding applications.

- Gather necessary information from university to be inputted into reports/evaluation.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work in collaboration with team at NewBridge to capture qualitative and quantitative data on audiences, participants and collaborators (including social impact reporting, equalities and diversity monitoring, environmental impact, and audience data).
- Lead on evaluation administration, including review and implementation of systems for recording data/feedback and completing data entry.
- Attend events and activity at NewBridge in order to support with monitoring and evaluation.
- Work with external evaluators where applicable – at present this includes working with Ortus Economic Research to evaluate our North East Combined Authority Skills for Growth project.

About the Service
‘Flourish’ is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.
Purpose of Post
- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
- Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with all key delivery partners across the system to ensure the service is responsive, inclusive and easy to access.
- To take allocated referrals from any agencies including the Community Navigators, Borough and District Councils, Herts Help, Housing Providers, Herts Welcomes Refugees, the Refugee Council and self-referrals including walk in contacts at any of the Mind wellbeing centres across the county.

- To create a safe space for the individual to be able to explore their feelings and improve their understanding around their mental health.

- Ensure all person centred risk assessments and support plans are completed.
- Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
- Support clients to build their emotional resilience, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
- To provide safeguarding intervention support. This will include responding to problems, which pose an immediate risk.
- To work alongside translators when required to provide a robust package of support for clients.
- To accompany clients to initial visits and appointments as necessary in order to ensure the sustained use of existing support services in the Borough.

- To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the National Housing Federation (NHF) for a Senior policy advisor to lead our policy and strategy work on housing finance.
The NHF is the voice of housing associations in England. We are the trade body to almost 600 housing associations, who have grown from philanthropic roots to provide 2.6 million homes to around 6 million people. You can find further information about the NHF on our website.
This role is a crucial and exciting one within our policy team and the wider organisation. You will use your policy and strategy skills to influence national housing policy on behalf of our housing association members. You will build on your existing finance and/or housing knowledge to quickly develop a strong understanding of housing associations and their finances, and will build strong relationships with Finance Directors across our membership. You will use their and your specialist knowledge to shape the policy environment so that housing associations can best deliver on their social purpose.
Whether this is making a persuasive and evidence-based case to the government for additional grant funding to build new homes or the details of social housing rent policy, or working with sector experts on the detail of accounting, pensions, tax or treasury policy, or meeting with civil servants, banks, lenders, ratings agencies, and other stakeholders on behalf of our members, this role is central to our work influencing national social housing policy.

Key elements of the role:
· Shape and lead our policy work on key strategic issues for housing associations around housing finance – advocating for solutions and mitigating risks that affect the delivery of housing associations’ social purpose;

· Represent the NHF to senior colleagues in government, members and external stakeholders with credibility, expertise and political judgement;

The successful candidate:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
· An ability to lead the development of credible, robust, evidence based policy, including on complex and technical policy areas;
· An ability to communicate credibly, clearly and persuasively in writing and in person including to Chief Executives, senior government officials and finance professionals;
· An ability to draft, oversee, adapt and deliver complex plans for the delivery of multiple projects or programmes of work;
· A strong interest in and passion for social housing and for housing association finances, through previous experience in either finance or housing roles, and capacity to quickly learn the technical details of housing association finances and operating models .
Nb within the NHF this role is known as ‘Policy leader’ but it is equivalent to a Senior Policy Advisor in other settings.

Overall Duties of the Education Advisor will include:
- Providing impartial careers advice, information and guidance to TACT young people and foster carers supporting them to prepare for leaving school, entering college, and considering which post 16 education pathway is appropriate for them.
- Working alongside TACT’s Advisory teachers, TACT Connect, CRWs, SSWs and carers to support young people cared for by TACT to engage in education, training, or employment post 16.
- Supporting the delivery of quality careers exploration ensuring young people have a wide range of opportunities and experiences provided to consider all KS4, Post 16 and Post 18 pathways.
- Ensuring young people are prepared for adult life as a learner in Higher, Further colleges or university, as well as working life, including apprenticeships or employment.
- Ensuring that no young person is NEET and if any young person needs support to re-engage in their post 16 pathway that re-engagement plans are drawn up to reflect the individual’s interests and needs.
- Maintaining timely and accurate record keeping on Charms (in house system).
- Responding to telephone calls and attending virtual meetings.
- Communicating professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, carers, and third-party agencies to establish professional working relationships which focus on the best outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

We are looking for candidates with:
- Degree level education or equivalent
- Professional teaching qualification and current Registration with DFE (desirable but not essential)
