The Survivors Trust mission:

The Survivors Trust (TST) is the UK’s largest national membership organisation for specialist voluntary sector rape and sexual abuse support services. We have over 120 Member Agencies based across the UK and Ireland. We campaign to raise awareness of sexual violence and to improve the support available for its survivors.

Our work falls into five broad areas:

Job description

Main responsibilities will be in the following areas:

• Ensuring effective communication across the TST team, with our members and with external agencies

Purpose of the role

Are you passionate about providing grants to ground-breaking environmental charities around the world? Main duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to manage all stages of the grant making process, from invitation to application, award and reporting.

Programme Officer Duties:

To coordinate and grow York Mind’s community and events fundraising income through effective networking, event, and volunteer coordination.

This role sits within our Corporate Wellbeing Service team, where you will mainly work alongside our Head of Corporate Wellbeing Services and Corporate Fundraiser, to generate income for the charity through community engagement and events. You will be responsible for meeting the annual community and events income target. The role will require someone with strong organisational skills, and prior experience as a Fundraiser in another organisation. You will divide your time between developing, planning, and running events, supporting people to raise money on behalf of York Mind, and creating new relationships in the community, such as with schools and sports clubs. We have an annual calendar of both internal and external events, including our annual Mental Elf run, as well as challenges such as the York 10k and Yorkshire Marathon. Your role will be to fill events, and effectively steward and support people to raise as much money as possible through their participation. As part of your role in event coordination, you will be responsible for our fundraising volunteer base, including recruitment and effective utilisation of volunteers at our various events. Flexibility will be key, as some events happen on evenings and weekends. Another important part of this role will be engaging and developing relationships with community supporters. You should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy getting out and about in the community (eg. sports clubs/community organisations) to grow our supporter base and look after those who we currently work with. Finally, the Corporate Wellbeing Services Team work collaboratively and therefore you should be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support others in their roles to ensure the effective running of the whole department. The Communications Executive will sit within the Science Communications team, a multifaceted group that helps tell the story around our science and the impact it’s making for people living with dementia. The team make dementia research accessible and inspiring to the public across a range of channels, including social media, digital content and the press.

Working closely with researchers who are vital in supporting the charity’s fundraising activities, the team also helps create engaging content relating to our research activities that will inspire support of our work.

The Executive will support the wider department through the management of content and the coordination of internal and external events, which requires liaising with our dementia researchers.  The role also involves providing essential administrative and logistical support to the wider department and will report into the Senior Science Communications Officer, helping to support communications with our research community.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Scientist liaison and events coordination

· Leading on handling requests from teams for ARUK-funded scientists to host lab tours and speak at fundraising and public engagement events.

· Co-ordinate production of daily news summaries from the communications department to share with employees on our intranet.

Media relations

· Helping to support the team with monitoring ARUK media coverage, including working with our media monitoring provider to ensure the platform is accurate and up to date.

· Supporting the team to create media coverage reports on campaigns and monthly round-ups of our daily-news summaries.

· Being part of the news desk and supporting the wider team with managing media requests.

We are currently looking for an Assistant Head of Inshore Boating to join our team.

About the role

Sea Cadets deliver life changing opportunities to young people through the challenge and adventure of getting out on the water. The Assistant Head of Inshore Boating is instrumental in facilitating these experiences as part of a team working to support volunteers and colleagues across the UK, with a focus on our five activities of dinghy sailing, paddlesport, powerboating, rowing and windsurfing. The post will require experience of dealing with people of all ages/backgrounds, in the management of delivering activities, equipment/facilities and supporting the development of instructors.

We are looking for a passionate practitioner, with a background in delivering both on and off the water, and in-depth experience of operating procedures and governing documentation. Experience of working with young people is essential.

Responsibilities

· Lead on developing our boating/watersports framework

· Support volunteer led activity across the UK in delivering life affirming on the water experiences to young people.

· Support the Head of Inshore in the development and delivery of assurance and safety of Boating.

· Day to day Line management of the office team

· Collaborate with the wider Inshore team to support central training, particularly Instructor Training.

Requirements

· A qualified watersports practitioner at or approaching Trainer/Tutor level

· An in depth understanding of operating procedures and documentation

· Experience of watersports at a strategic level

Desirable

· Experience or knowledge of youth and/or uniformed organisations

· Experience or knowledge of the charity sector

Art Fund is the UK’s national fundraising charity for art. The role

At Art Fund, the role of Executive Assistant sits at the very centre of the organisation. Your primary focus is the administrative support of the Director through complex diary management and managing a busy inbox; but the role also encapsulates organising staff social, information sharing and learning events, collaborating with departments on projects, providing administrative support to the Senior Management Team in their weekly meetings and supporting the Governance Manager with the planning and delivery of Board meetings.

At its core, this role is administration based and in support of the Director of Art Fund. The Director is in frequent contact with Art Fund’s stakeholders, Directors across the culture sector, as well as individuals from Local Authority and Government. The Director’s time is therefore finely balanced between internal and external meetings, so you need to be confident in using Outlook, with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. Working alongside the Director to prioritise meetings and workload, this is a role which requires collaborative working, and you will work closely with both your colleagues and the Director to ensure that their time is efficiently and effectively used.

This role interacts across all departments, and with all the staff of Art Fund; you will be confident, practical, approachable and highly organised. You’ll be helping with the occasional largescale communications across the sector on behalf of the Director; managing deadlines for articles from the Director for our Art Quarterly publication and Annual Report; helping to support on events including Museum of the Year and the annual Trustees Dinner, and generally embedding yourself within the organisation as one of the team.

This post is London-based. The position is based in our office in Granary Square. We can offer occasional homeworking, however regular presence in the office will be required for this role and is dependent on the Director’s diary.
