TreeHouse School is a happy and vibrant community where autistic children and young people learn and flourish. Currently, we have 100 pupils on roll aged 4- 19 years old. About Media Defence

Media Defence is a charity that helps media to defend their rights. We support independent media, journalists and citizen journalists who are under legal threat by making sure that lawyers are available to defend them. We engage in strategic litigation to improve the regulatory environment for media freedom, make grants to organisations in various countries to run media defence programmes, and build the capacity of the lawyers and organisations we work with on issues of media law.

About the Role

As Events Coordinator and Team Assistant, you will support the CEO, as well as the Operations, the Development and Capacity Building teams across all their events, traveling and administrative needs. Your main job responsibilities will be centred on organising and managing the admin that supports our work. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of in person activities and administrative functions, working closely across the organisation.

You will be an enthusiastic team player as a lot of your tasks will involve and require input from other team members, from scheduling meetings to assisting in planning all our international travel, in compliance with current donor requirements.

Main Responsibilities

Events planning and coordination

• Coordinate logistical aspects of in person programme activities, including venue arrangements, participant travel, accommodation, and catering. These activities may include meetings for lawyers, regional and international convenings for Media Defence's network of partners, and fellowships
• Implement the logistical planning of events, including visas, flights, ground transportation, itineraries, and other travel-related arrangements, ensuring that all donor requirements are satisfied, such as the Fly America Act where applicable
• Assist Media Defence staff with visa applications, travel arrangements, itineraries, and accommodation needs, providing support to ensure a positive experience. This may include Board meetings, conference participation for Media Defence's Legal Team and CEO travel coordination

Contractual and Financial Coordination

• Support the Finance and Operations Director to ensure that event logistics align with donor requirements and Media Defence policy requirements, with a particular focus on financial compliance and the accurate implementation of travel, finance, and procurement policies
• Coordinate with external vendors, service providers, and contractors to manage contracts, payments, and other financial transactions related to event logistics
• Maintain accurate and precise record-keeping for all event-related activities, ensuring documentation meets organisational and donor requirements
• Maintain a filing system of all travel related and relevant documents that meets Media Defence's policies and donor requirements

Team Support

• Manage diaries and organise team meetings
• Take notes at meetings, prepare the minutes and distribute to relevant participants
• Provide support through administrative and communication activities, including checking that invoices from suppliers are accurate and handle any queries
• Oversee effective and smooth running of the Media Defence office, making sure staff are supported and resourced
• Monitor office supplies and stationery and make purchases when required
• Oversee maintenance of the fixed asset register and safeguard assets
• Participate in the delivery of ad hoc projects and tasks, as required

Other

The team is looking for someone to join as a Legacy & In Memory Fundraising Assistant. As part of this role, you will provide care and cultivation of In Memory donors, Legacy pledgers and enquirers by acting as first point of contact for these supporters and delivering ongoing one-to-one stewardship across various touchpoints. As part of the Legacy & In Memory Fundraising Team, you will contribute to achieving the team's aims and objectives through undertaking key administrative tasks and assisting with the delivery of the team’s projects including marketing campaigns, supporter events and internal promotion of messages to a range of audiences and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate with a range of internal and external audiences, a high standard of computer literacy, and a passion for delivering excellent supporter care.

Executive Assistant, Strategy and Knowledge

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Executive Assistant to support the Strategy and Knowledge Directorate.

The Strategy and Knowledge Directorate is responsible for developing and monitoring the NSPCC strategy, influencing public policy, championing an evidenced-based approach in all our work, designing impactful services and developing and managing our knowledge and information services.

The Executive Assistant reports to the Director of S&K and supports her and the Senior Management Team to manage the administrative work involved in running the Directorate. As an Executive Assistant, you're expected to possess the skills to work flexibly within a team; to organise and prioritise your workload; respond to deadlines; and deal with confidential sensitive material. The successful candidate will need to be committed, organised and flexible, with a real passion for the work they do and a desire to contribute to making a difference to the lives of children.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing administrative support to the Director of Strategy and Knowledge (50%), Head of Knowledge and Information (20%), the Head of Strategy Delivery (10%) and the Special Adviser – Child Safety Online Taskforce (20%).
• Responsible for agendas and action logs for Directorate meetings, Senior Management Team meetings, Senior Managers Forum and various internal and external Board meetings.
• Being an accessible and approachable member of the Directorate, proactively responding to needs and developing an excellent knowledge of NSPCC processes and procedures.
• Financial assistance with the Director's cost centre, and holder of the Directorate purchasing card.

This role would suit someone with some experience in an administrative and/or Personal/Executive Assistant function, with experience of tasks such as diary management, forward planning, minute taking, action logs and project coordination.  This is a highly varied role with development opportunities for the right candidate – previous post-holders have moved on to more senior roles at NSPCC and elsewhere.

Role Purpose

The role will focus on understanding and exploring the links between Gender and Disability, including access to Assistive Technology, interactions with Poverty and Disability and Social Justice, working with our existing and new partners, including relevant UN agencies, community partners, and our funders or clients (often donors or development banks). This role includes undertaking and supporting research to address gender issues within disability inclusion, including barriers and facilitators to understand ‘what works’ to drive gender-inclusive access to assistive technology.

This role will undertake research (including research management; ethics; facilitation of qualitative and quantitative methods; other data collection activities; analysis; writing reports and papers; and dissemination of research findings) within the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) funded ‘AT2030’ programme. Priority countries within the programme are in the regions of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Pacific and expect to include countries such as Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Indonesia.

The post would suit a post-graduate researcher with practice-based experience within the thematic areas of disability, gender and social justice, and a good grasp of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Experience working in the global south or less resources context is preferrable, as well as strong communication, project management and partnership skills.

We are looking for a creative, rigorous, and empathetic individual, ideally, with skills and experience in working with a gender lens. A candidate who can work autonomously, and as part of a team across various inter-related projects would be welcomed.

The post holder will work within GDI Hub's Research and Delivery team but will also spend time with other team members and research partners as needed.

The role will be based at the dedicated GDI Hub space on the new UCL East Campus site within the 560-acre Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with easy access to all venues. The position comes with UCL Associate status, which provides access to UCL campus buildings and resources (e.g. library). The post-holder will also have access to an annual learning and development budget, a Wellbeing Bonus of up to £500 per year and 28 days annual leave.

Role Responsibilities

Role Objectives will include:

• Carrying out research to strengthen our data and evidence on the impacts of gender on access to assistive technology across the AT2030 programme.
• Support research projects focused on gender, reproductive and sexual health, and disability, including fieldwork/travel as needed.
• Support the research planning and delivery of projects regarding inclusive education, accessible healthcare and gendered design of AT including digital products and work with GDI Hub’s international partners.
• Contribute research support across the research and delivery team and Hub.

Support the inclusion of gender in GDI Hub’s work and collate disaggregated data to make recommendations for future work for GDI and its partners.

RESEARCH PRIORITIES: Explore gender influences in access to AT and social justice.

• To liaise with local and international partners, travel will likely be involved.
• To carry out research activities – conducting, analysing, and reporting theoretical and empirical results.
• To gather qualitative data, i.e., interviews, workshops, co-design/participatory design.
• To support dissemination of the project outputs, through contributing to writing and compiling technical reports and academic papers.
• To plan and undertake quantitative data analysis of gender related data.
• Ensure all data is conducted in line with ethical conduct of research, including informed consent collection and appropriate data handling.
• To contribute to the creation of content for academic publications, publicity materials and social media.

About Media Trust

At Media Trust, we believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that we’ll get to a more equal society. This position sits within our Underrepresented Talent team (previously the Youth Media team). We deliver industry-leading training and mentoring programmes to support underrepresented talent to progress their careers in the media industry, and equip media organisations and professionals with the skills to better support diverse talent and create inclusive workplaces. Our programmes aim to particularly support talent from Global Ethnic Majority, DDN (d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent) and low socio-economic backgrounds (LSEBs).

This role will manage a range of training and mentoring programmes including virtual and inperson activities. Working with a broad selection of industry partners from across the media and creative industries (including major broadcasters, advertising agencies and tech companies), you will support programme participants to gain the confidence, knowledge, skills and networks to progress their careers in the media, and contribute to developing a more representative media industry.

Key Responsibilities

Programme management and delivery

• Manage all aspects of a range of training and mentoring programmes, ensuring they are high-quality and impactful
• Provide regular project updates to our funders and partners
• Manage programme budgets including monitoring expenditure, forecasting and ensuring all third-party expenses are paid and/or reimbursed appropriately
• Support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the programmes you manage, ensuring impact is evidenced by high quality data, and produce impact reports for key stakeholders
• Work alongside the marketing team to support the production of marketing and communication materials and provide regular programme updates for the Media Trust website and social media channels, including end of programme case studies
• Maintain up-to-date programme data and reporting by inputting relevant data on a timely basis to our CRM system

Talent/participant engagement

• Lead the recruitment of participants including marketing and outreach, selection and onboarding
• Design, deliver and manage engagement and retention strategies, supporting participants to commit to the programme
• Be the first point of contact for all participants, and provide pastoral support throughout the programme, monitoring participants’ progress through 1:1 check-ins, providing additional support and access adjustments to those who require it
• Assess participants’ accessibility needs, ensuring adjustments are implemented to provide individualised support
• Work with programme participants and industry partners to develop engaging session content tailored to the cohort’s needs

Delivering activities to raise the profile of involvement and coproduction, the Lived Experience Insight team works alongside people with experience of homelessness and barriers to work. People with lived experience steer the direction of Shelter’s work by helping design services, campaigning, getting involved in local events or speaking out against the housing emergency and we work closely with them to ensure lived experience is at the core of everything we do.

The Comms Assistant will:

Purpose of the Executive Assistant to the CEO role: 

As Executive Assistant to the CEO, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the CEO with the practicalities of achieving Women’s Aid strategic and operational objectives by providing high level confidential administrative, secretarial and diary management, and by delivering high quality, proactive, organisational governance and planning support to our Board of Trustees and subcommittees.The post holder with have line management responsibility of two executive assistants.

 Key duties and responsibilities of the Executive Assistant to the CEO:

• Provide a professional, comprehensive and high-quality executive support to the CEO.
• Play an effective and appropriate role as the primary point of contact for the CEO’s office.
• Support the CEO to manage appointments with her direct reports (x11) and track workstreams and necessary follow-up.
• Provide project administration support and management of discreet pieces of work relating to the executive office, in line with organisational policies.
• To support the CEO and trustees in all aspects of constitutional administration including, but not limited to, arranging and overseeing the Board of Trustees recruitment, induction, appraisal and training; organisation of AGM; Memorandum of Association; Governance Framework; and registration information with Companies House and The Charity Commission, and other associated bodies. 
• Carry out management, supervision, appraisal and development of direct reports as required.

What we are looking for in our Executive Assistant to the CEO:

• Experience of providing a confidential service and operating with discretion at all times and in a fast paced and agile environment
• Ability to effectively digest and summarise complex information, in order to communicate key priorities.
• Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work to deadlines.
• Extensive experience providing executive assistance, secretarial or administrative support to individuals or a team, with experience of a Senior PA role at Board or Trust level.

The role involves working in multi-agency settings in Camden and Islington, working in partnership with existing delivery structures, local networks and developing collective practices. Navigators are able to manage their own their own time, working flexibly on the go, including some working from home.

The Navigator will carry a caseload of 10 client who are rough sleeping and experiencing multiple disadvantage, and will provide end-to-end holistic, coordinated support for each individual, from first contact in a street setting through to helping them to achieve a more settled and fulfilled lifestyle.

Navigators will provide personalised solutions which demonstrate innovation, creativity as well as iterative learning.

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of acute mental health conditions, complex trauma, and addiction.

As a Navigator, you will provide support such as:

•  Assessing their needs and identifying their goals.
•  Helping them to find and maintain suitable accommodation.
•  Supporting them to access health, social care, and mental health services.
•  Assisting them to apply for benefits, grants, and other entitlements.
•  Linking them with education, training, and employment opportunities.
•  Empowering them to develop their skills, confidence, and resilience.
•  Advocating for them with other agencies and professionals.
•  Providing crisis intervention and harm reduction advice.

Please note: We will also be considering applicants from this vacancy for a permanent Navigator position for one of our Services in Hackney. This role is permanent but paid at a different salary banding starting at £30,342.85 and rising incrementally to £33,228.99 per annum.

About you:

• Previous experience of working with either rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, alcohol or substance use support needs. 
• An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches and working collaboratively within a harm minimisation and recovery framework.
• The ability to manage a caseload and deliver positive outcomes, utilising your knowledge of the health and social care sector is also needed.   
• A flexible and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to reach client group.

The Administrative Assistant (Advice and Information) provides important administrative support to our small, friendly Advice and Information Team, which includes:

CoramBAAF members’ Advice Line which covers all aspect of adoption, fostering, kinship and related areas. It is busy and popular with professionals, primarily social workers, who use the service. It offers telephone and email advice, prioritising speed and quality of service.

The Outbound Permanence service. This provides specialist advice by email, supported by legal research, country-specific written guidance and individual consultations where required, to local authorities making arrangements for children to live with relatives and friends overseas. The service also delivers regular training and events.

The Information Service, which supports the advice line and CoramBAAF members with up-to-date information, research, resources and statistics. Their role also includes managing CoramBAAF’s specialist library, the largest collection of adoption and fostering related resources in the UK, and producing the CoramBAAF Digest, a unique monthly current awareness briefing for everyone working in adoption, fostering, kinship and child welfare covering latest developments in legislation, parliamentary activity, policy, consultations, research, statistics and online resources throughout the UK. The Information Service is also an invaluable internal resource, assisting with survey design and data governance, and helping our consultants, trainers and authors to ensure that they have the latest and most accurate information for practice forum meetings, the guides we publish and the training we offer.

The role will primarily support the Outbound Permanence and Advice services. The role is an opportunity for someone with experience and business support/administrative skills, good attention to detail, customer service focus and a flexible approach.

Working hours can be discussed, but to include Thurs/Fri (Friday am specifically).
