How does the Graduate Scheme work?

You’ll be joining our charity as a permanent member of the team.

Our Graduate Scheme provides two years of training and career development and we ask candidates to commit to staying with the charity for at least this duration.

After completing your first year of the programme there will be the opportunity for everyone on the graduate scheme to take on a new challenge and apply for a promotion to Senior Education Worker, subject to satisfactory performance in role.

And after you’ve completed the two-year scheme, you’re guaranteed a position with us - our Graduate Scheme roles are permanent jobs.

New job roles and further promotions are regularly available - many of our Education Workers go on to become Centre Leaders running our centres, or take up promotion opportunities in central operational or Head Office roles.

What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

Individual Giving Officer

Born Free has recently invested in fundraising to support income growth and diversification under the leadership of a new Director of Fundraising.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer to become an integral member of the fundraising team as we look to diversify and grow our individual giving programme.

Individual giving is a key income stream for Born Free, and you will be supporting the Head of Public Fundraising to grow income from new and existing supporters, including through existing products and testing new ways for people to give. The successful candidate will be involved in areas such as our adoption programme, lottery, appeals, supporter acquisition, retention, stewardship, and digital fundraising.

You will be highly motivated and passionate about the mission of Born Free and bring the experience of working in a fundraising team to help grow and diversify the individual giving programme.

The Role

Working collaboratively with the Head of Public Fundraising to develop and implement the Individual Giving strategy for income growth and supporter retention. The successful candidate will be detail-orientated, a team player, creative and able to work collaboratively as well as independently.

Resourceful, organised and a proactive team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will need to juggle both creative and data tasks with drive and enthusiasm, be able to work with minimum supervision and show good judgement and initiative.

Key tasks will include:

• Supporter acquisition: work with Head of Public Fundraising to develop, project manage and deliver an integrated multi-channel rolling supporter acquisition across the individual giving portfolio.

• Manage suppliers and stakeholders: Ensuring high standards of delivery and collaboration are maintained within budgets and procurement requirements.
• Data insight: Work alongside the Head of Public Fundraising and Supporter Data & Insight Manager to ensure the selection and segmentation maximise results. Use campaign data to track and report on the effectiveness of activity, attrition levels, and inform decision-making and future planning.
• Strategy & Planning: Work alongside the Head of Public Fundraising and Director of Fundraising to produce and execute an effective and sustainable individual giving plan to grow income from new and existing donors.
• Budgets: Support the Head of Public Fundraising with compiling budgets, phasing and monitoring Individual Giving income and expenditure.
• External trends and regulation: Keep up to date with fundraising trends and legislation in relation to public fundraising, and ensure compliance with the Charity Commission, fundraising regulation and data protection requirements, including the General Data Protection Directive; Ensure all individual giving activity complies with the appropriate regulation and legislation and delivers an excellent experience for supporters.

The successful candidate should ideally demonstrate the following attributes:

• Direct marketing experience (essential) and digital marketing experience (essential)
• Highly numerate and extremely comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and KPIs
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build effective relationships with colleagues, donors and external suppliers.
• Proven experience in working with Microsoft Office, Excel, and relational databases (including data input), ideally with knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM.

Willow House - Central Lancashire Crisis Service is a mental health recovery house in Coppull. We are working to a recovery model, and are accessed by referral as either hospital preventions, step down, respite and crisis point support. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a 24hour staffed service to our residents aged 16 and upwards.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. Leadership

Job Purpose

To manage the site of Ada’s London Victoria campus, 1 Sutherland Street, so that it is operating safely and efficiently. This involves liaising with contractors and suppliers to plan, coordinate and implement the inspection, maintenance and repair of the internal and external fabric of the building and any machinery or plant within the building. To be responsible for the Health and Safety compliance of the site and oversee the security of the premises to provide a safe and secure environment for all learners, staff and visitors.

Main duties and responsibilities

Facilities management

• Manage the opening and closing of the College for normal hours of operation
• For out of hours College events or venue hire, arrange for the opening and closing of the building and necessary services (heating, cleaning, equipment etc). Liaise with the wider premises team for cover arrangements for these out of hours events.
• Be the principal registered Key Holder, attend call outs and take appropriate action, put in place arrangements for dealing with emergencies which occur outside normal working hours.
• Work with the Head of Premises, and wider premises team, to put in place cost effective facilities management and cleaning contracts for the building and manage those contracts on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinate and implement routine inspections, repairs, redecoration/refurbishments of the College building, equipment and external environment, including annual, monthly, weekly and daily inspections.
• Investigate and report site issues promptly, providing possible solutions, obtaining quotes and initiating repair / maintenance
• Manage and supervise any building contractors undertaking work on the College’s premises. Ensure that any issues with contractors are promptly followed up.
• Work with the appropriate contractors to operate and maintain the building’s systems (e.g. heating and ventilation systems) to an effective standard
• Carry out minor repairs and practical jobs where this is within your expertise

Job summary

We are looking for a proactive, confident and supporter-focused fundraiser to build and manage relationships with JGDR’s local community in Nottinghamshire and South Lincolnshire. Working with the Volunteering and Community Fundraising Manager, you will deliver a strategy to grow income and volunteer numbers from the local community. This is a varied role which will cover:

· Stewarding and recruiting supporters undertaking their own fundraising activities, including those taking part in challenge events

Your role

• Collaborate with local authorities and businesses, attending meetings to address student progression and employment needs.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and career plans for students.
• Ensure interns understand their roles through host business inductions.
• Work with job coaches and managers to create and modify internship sites.
• Support interns at worksite placements, including job coaching and identifying placements.
• Build relationships with parents and educate staff on disability awareness.
• Plan and coordinate events like inductions and graduations.
• Contribute to marketing efforts and resolve training and employment issues.
• Train interns in personal hygiene, communication, and job behavior.
• Complete job coaching paperwork and apply for Access to Work funding.
• Address legal responsibilities concerning intern safety and welfare.

Person Specification

• Level 3 Education and Training Award (PTTLS) or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication skills with diverse groups.
• Dynamic and innovative, with leadership and management experience.
• Ability to build effective partnerships and manage a workload.
• Proven success in achieving outcomes and developing new services.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to Children and Young People’s Services and SEND.
