The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, is seeking an experienced welfare officer to manage the charity’s occupational welfare support provision.
Formerly the Furniture Trades Benevolent Association, the charity has been supporting the welfare of furnishing industry people since 1903. The welfare officer provides vital help and support to people working in all areas of the trade, as well as retirees and their eligible dependants who need assistance.
We are seeking a compassionate individual who is highly organised, diligent and an articulate communicator. You will need to be an experienced administrator as you will be a department of one.
The welfare officer will be responsible for processing applications for assistance and checking applications against the charity’s eligibility criteria – undertaking due diligence - and adding supporting application documentation received via email etc.
The role will involve hybrid outreach work, developing and maintaining links with key stakeholders with companies from the industry to inform them of the charity’s services.

Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Regional Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting Local Authorities and housing providers in achieving DAHA accreditation. You will lead a team of Regional Leads, providing supervision and support to ensure their success, while also developing partnerships and promoting innovative housing responses to domestic abuse. This role is key to the delivery of DAHA’s strategic goals and will give you the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of domestic abuse survivors across the housing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and guidance to up to four Regional Leads, helping them achieve their goals and maintain high levels of engagement.
- Work with housing providers and local authorities to promote and support their journey towards achieving DAHA accreditation.
- Plan and deliver workshops, webinars, and training sessions on DAHA standards and domestic abuse housing responses.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with external partners, including Local Authorities and Registered Social Housing Providers.
- Ensure that the work of the DAHA team is regularly monitored, evaluated, and improved upon, incorporating feedback and identifying areas for development.

The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) is an educational research institute established to help improve later life outcomes. We are independent and an expert across all elements of the UK pension system. We contribute facts, analysis and commentary to help stakeholders, decision-makers and law-makers take informed policy positions and decisions on pensions and retirement income provision.

Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the management and timely delivery of PPI research projects
- Manage multiple external and internal stakeholders including project sponsors
- Conduct literature reviews and desk-based research
- Analyse and interpret data from a policy perspective and develop conclusions from analysis
- Work closely with the PPI modelling team to determine methodology for the production of data and projections
- Draft PPI reports
- Present on a variety of retirement and pensions topics (internally and externally)
- Participate in discussion groups and seminars on pensions policy issues

Essential skills:

We have an exciting opportunity for an amazing fundraiser to join our Church and Christian Engagement team. The heart of our work centres around engaging and inspiring Churches and Christians to join us- through regular giving, one off donations, action and prayer. We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Policy and Evidence to lead our policy, social research, and healthcare professional engagement activity to improve the lives of people affected by MS.
You'll provide leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the Policy and Evidence team has clear priorities and a proactive and impact-driven approach. Strong management and leadership skills are essential to this role.
Acting as a senior spokesperson for our policy and evidence work, you’ll need to be influential both internally and externally, including representing the MS Society at a range of external meetings with a variety of audiences.
You’ll play a crucial role championing the role of impactful evidence based decision making across the organisation and have substantial experience of supporting the development of issue-based influencing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing policy change across a broad range of issues and influencing policy makers at a UK or national level.
Please note this is a fixed term contract for 9 months starting in January 2025.

About the role
Here for You is Breast Cancer Now’s personalised referral route to all of our services.
There are 2 roles, both of which are responsible for making initial and follow up calls to primary and secondary breast cancer patients.
We’re expanding our team due to demand and to continue to ensure patients get calls within service level agreements. And to provide timely and trusted information and support to people diagnosed with breast cancer. This involves responding to safeguarding issues, collecting data, and deliver excellent information on the phone.
The role also involves collaborating with colleagues focusing on the Here for You expansion and integration, as well as working with colleagues across the primary services, secondary services and personalised support services. The role also liaises with our Helpline team.
About you
For both of these roles, we’re looking for enthusiasm and people with strong communication skills (especially on the phone) and who have experience of working in a fast-paced and people-facing environment. The right candidates will provide quality phone calls and be willing to adapt and innovate. We’re looking for team players, who understand the importance of co-production and who are motivated by providing information to breast cancer patients. You’ll bring excellent verbal and written communication skills and thrive on creating an inclusive work environment and working across multiple teams.

As Team Administrator for the Children and Young People’s Engagement Team, you will be responsible for providing vital administrative support to a dynamic team working with children, young people and parents all over the UK.
The Team Administrator will provide administrative or logistical support to different team projects, working groups, committees, events or activities. This will also include supporting the finance functions for the Team and managing purchase orders, invoices and expenses and supporting the project teams by drafting and preparing documents. This is a senior role within our People & Organisational Development directorate. Your Role:
- Overall Direction and Development: Leading the payroll team, you will ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing.
