Role Description

As our Business Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Together Active runs smoothly. You’ll provide essential operational, administrative, and governance support to the team, enabling us to deliver impactful programmes and stay organised. We are looking for a permanent full-time Outreach Officer to contribute their personality, energy, drive, skills and experience to add value to our Blesma Outreach team within the Independence and Wellbeing department at Blesma, The Limbless Veterans.

The role is home-based being a varied one, focusing primarily on delivering an engaging blended programme of activities that enhances social inclusion, improves the wellbeing of our members and overcomes the negative impact of disability.   The role requires a person who is a self starter, friendly, compassionate, confident who enjoys taking the initiative being creative and has a strong commitment to the veterans’ community.  

The role also involves representing Blesma and raising the charity’s profile within the local community across the Midlands. 

The Independence and Wellbeing team works collaboratively across the Association to ensure Blesma’s programmes and services can help our serving Service personnel, veterans and their families thrive and lead independent and fulfilling lives.

This role will deliver tailored, one to one support and case work to support and resolve both immediate, crisis situations experienced by people and on a longer-term basis in the community. In the main people we support are Irish or of Irish descent including the Traveller Community. However, our services are open to all.

Additionally, part of the role will include working across the project team and wider role of ICCM in early intervention and prevention.  Informing and supporting community-based advocacy, awareness, and public campaigns to inform and increase knowledge and education of the community on how to access help, and the availability of support which is open to people as needs develop. Thus, increasing the wider public and social value of ICCM and brining more service users in to receive one to one support when needed. 

This will attract and support our community by making our services local, appropriate, and accessible to those who mainly do not access mainstream services. This will include advocacy and representative services in order for people to secure welfare benefits, enabling people to access the financial benefits they are entitled to.

This will support people experiencing mental and physical health issues, substance misuse, facing legal issues, those who require debt management, threatened with eviction, domestic abuse, and bereavement. This will be done mainly on an outreach basis across Manchester, supporting people in their own homes, in care homes, hospital and where they are resettled to their home environment.

The overall aim of the service is to improve quality of life, access to appropriate support services and improved health and wellbeing outcomes by acting as an advocate and to negotiate with other agencies, where necessary, on our client’s behalf.

Key Responsibilities:

• To make contact with members of the Irish and Traveller communities across Manchester.
• To provide Advocacy and Support via outreach, accompanying to appointments, advocacy to other agencies to address presenting needs who are vulnerable and ‘at risk’ through age, poor physical or mental health, homelessness, risk of homelessness, drug and alcohol use, offending, abuse, and social and cultural isolation.
• Undertake an initial assessment of service users’ needs, presenting issues and risks and to develop a care plan working alongside other statutory and voluntary agencies.

The Worker Support Centre (WSC) is a Scotland based charity that promotes decent work and prevents exploitation. We support marginalised and isolated workers in labour sectors where there is a high risk of abuse and exploitation. We work in partnership with workers to build power to secure and advance workplace rights. We prevent human trafficking for forced labour by acting to reduce the risks of worker exploitation. WSC support includes advice, mediation, advocacy and assisted reporting to enforcement agencies. Our worker engagement informs policy change activity to address harms faced by those in high-risk work. In 2023 and 2024 WSC activities were targeted at workers in seasonal agriculture on the UK Seasonal Worker visa (SWV). During this time, we provided advice, support, and information to 1031 people in relation to the SWV. 

About the role

This role is focussed on advancing seasonal agricultural workers’ rights by supporting WSC’s peer engagement work including actively conducting outreach to workers and facilitating worker education and power sessions. In this role you will support WSC meet two of its four core objectives to work together with workers to claim spaces for power and representation in decision making; and to build the field of knowledge about workers and their experiences to influence policy. This role will work closely together with our Peer Engagement team and Outreach Caseworkers.

Role Overview: 

The Executive Director is a new role for RLS. The successful candidate will lead RLS through its next phase of development, providing strategic leadership, promoting organisational cohesion and accountability whilst driving the fulfilment of our mission. As a representative and advocate for RLS, the Executive Director will oversee key areas such as organisational development, strategic planning, fundraising, robust financial planning, risk management, staff well-being, and external relations.

   • Review and enhance RLS’s organisational structure and cohesiveness across offices and teams.

You will manage a team of frontline support staff (currently 5) and the volunteers aligned with these staff / services, providing advocacy, referrals, and practical and emotional support to Carers through individual sessions, group work, training, and outreach activities. You will build and maintain partnerships and referral pathways with agencies that support Carers’ health and wellbeing, while also contributing to service improvement and growth to meet evolving needs.  

You will share responsibility for improving, developing and growing the services to ensure that they continue to effectively meet changing needs. This will include generating new ideas for services and projects and writing fundraising applications.

The Maypole Project supports children and young people with complex medical needs and their families across the UK. Our vision is that all families with a child with complex medical needs will have access to our support from diagnosis, for as long as they need.

Our unique model provides emotional and wellbeing support through counselling and therapy services for parents/carers, siblings and other adults involved in caring for a young person with complex medical needs. 

The Maypole Project has been providing vital services to families for over 21 years and is in an exciting phase of development. We are expanding our management team to provide the capacity needed to grow and extend our provision to meet the needs of more families who would benefit from our unique model of support.

Role Purpose

As a member of the senior leadership team, the role will have strategic and operational oversight of all clinical and therapeutic services and activities, ensuring the Maypole Model of support is delivered effectively, to high-quality standards and is appropriately resourced. Working to the Maypole vision to provide access to support for everyone who needs it across the UK, through appropriate outreach, the role will work closely with colleagues and external partners to support the development and expansion of our service offer to meet the needs of families and grow our income.

Key Responsibilities

Service Management

• Line Management of the Senior Counsellor, Senior Child Therapist, Activities Manager and Clinical Supervisors.
• Overall management of the Therapies team, fostering positive communications through regular team meetings/socials, and building a collaborative and collegiate working culture across the organisation.
• Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and have access to further professional development opportunities.
• Holding a counselling caseload of 3-4 clients, in line with postholders professional qualifications and experience.
• Oversight of all enquiries and referrals from initial contact, through assessment and end of support, with assistance from the team administrator.
• Facilitate the provision of a Clinical Supervision for the therapies team.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the organisation ensuring safeguarding cover is always available via nominated deputies in your absence.
• Contributing to case conferences as required and convening internal “Maypole Team around the family” meetings to discuss our work and ensure seamless working both within Maypole’s provision and with external providers as necessary.
• Contract management: act as the main point of contact for our contractors with which we have service level agreements for the provision of therapy services.
• Data: Manage the client database and associated systems for recording of clients in relation to appointments, payments and impact reporting.
• Ensure premises are fit for purpose for therapy services and activities programmes, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, accessibility and confidentiality policies, in liaison with Head of Developments, CEO and other responsible personnel.
• Business/Service Development
• Contribute to strategic and operational plans for business and service development including delivering the aims of our strategic plan for growth in the following areas:
  •  service uptake and expansion across a wider geographic area
  •  developing service provision, quality and resourcing
  • development of training and other consultancy services to external professionals
• Monitoring and Evaluation: ensuring standardised ways of recording data and disseminating the impact of our services in communications to a range of stakeholders including for contracts/grants as well as for key supporters and internally the Board and staff team.
• Support the CEO and Head of Development in developing external relationships and partnerships, instigating discussions regarding potential new contracts and partnerships and opportunities for collaborative working.
• Act as an Ambassador for The Maypole Project, advocating and promoting our work throughout relevant networks. Working with the Head of Development, seek opportunities to give talks and presentations to a range of audiences with the aim of building relationships with external contacts and potential partners.
• Reporting: provide written reports as required for the CEO, Board of Trustees, funders and contract clients.

Finance

• Contribute to setting the annual budget for therapies and activities.
• Monitor monthly income and expenditure accounts for therapy services, highlighting any discrepancies or potential for significant over or underspends.

General responsibilities

• Attend regular supervision, line management and whole team meetings.
• Adhere to the codes of ethics and practice adopted by The Maypole Project, in line with our service model and with other relevant Counselling Professional bodies.
• Comply with legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act (always ensuring H&S of self and others).

The team acts as the first line of support for members and supporters, responding to enquiries, managing interactions, and deepening engagement with the Ramblers.

This role is instrumental in ensuring a seamless supporter journey, helping to attract, welcome, and retain supporters while providing valuable insights to the organisation to improve supporter experiences. As an ambassador for supporters, the role also contributes to the organisation’s ability to deliver its charitable mission.

Key responsibilities

Supporter Engagement

• Respond to supporter enquiries via letter, email and social media in a timely and professional manner, and with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail.
• Triage enquiries, referring complaints, safeguarding and safety matters to the specialists in the organisation and escalating other enquiries as needed to subject-matter experts.
• Listen and respond to the needs of each supporter, understanding their motivations and experiences to foster long-term relationships.
• Acknowledge and thank donations and other payments in a timely and personalised manner.

Payment processing

• Process and manage in-bound financial payments in an accurate and timely manner, managing any reconciliation as required.
• Investigate and resolve any payment issues, liaising with supporters and the payment processor as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints in the CRM system in accordance with data protection and Gift Aid Legislation.

The Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer will work alongside the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to help deliver Rising Sun’s fundraising targets during this exciting period of growth for the charity.

The main focus of the role is finding, attracting and stewarding new funders to help deliver Rising Sun’s life changing services. You will write compelling funding proposals that demonstrate the impact of our services and how we meet funders’ requirements. You will build strong relationships with grant officers from various foundations, providing regular updates and communicating challenges, solutions and successes as appropriate to develop our reputation as an effective, reliable and trustworthy organisation.  Alongside this you will be nurturing our existing portfolio of funders to help prioritise multi-year funding.

Working with you in the Fundraising Team will be the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications, Trusts and Foundations Officer, Community Fundraising Officer and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team. As part of the team you will help to develop fundraising materials such as case studies, impact reports and cases for support.

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who loves building and nurturing relationships and has a passion for fundraising. In addition, you will have excellent writing skills and experience of generating income from trusts and foundations to grow our income from this stream. As part of our committed team of approximately 50 staff, you will be contributing to the invaluable work of the Rising Sun and making a lasting difference to the lives of those who have experienced domestic abuse.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage part of Rising Sun’s portfolio of income and fundraising activities related to trusts and foundations.
• Keep the trusts and foundations stream of the funding pipeline healthy and up to date, carrying out research into new opportunities and meeting application deadlines. 
• Write compelling funding applications that answer funders’ questions and effectively communicate the mission, services and impact of Rising Sun.

In a newly created role, YMCA Robin Hood Group are seeking an Operations Director to oversee our residential service for children in care.

You will bring operational excellence to this role as you lead and manage our Operations Managers and Registered Managers of our current home portfolio with an ambitious plan to expand this service so we can support more children and young people recover from the trauma they have experienced in their lives so far.

The Role

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will focus on providing an outstanding environment for children to thrive in whilst ensuring that we are compliant with OFSTED and other regulatory bodies.

Core Duties

• Ensure all aspects of service delivery in the residential homes comply with contractual, legislative and other necessary requirements.
• Create and implement robust policies and procedures for placements across all homes for looked after children, including oversight of quality assurance and ensuring all staff work in a way which prevents abuse and safeguards everyone.
