The Fundraising Officer will make a key contribution to the generation of sustainable funding through corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations. The role will support initiatives to increase the organisation’s income by expanding our pool of donors, improving retention of current donors and maximizing fundraising opportunities.

• The WasteAid Circular Economy Network which brings together national stakeholders, local authorities and the private sector to tackle local waste challenges through networking, training, infrastructure support and innovation challenges
• First Step Resource Management Programmes focus on a whole system approach to divert waste from landfill supporting community behaviour change, basic infrastructure, collector group training and end market development

Can you bring your fundraising skills to help us to do more?

Purpose of Role

To support the Head of Fundraising and Head of Trusts to develop and deliver effective income generation and partner relationship management. Collaborating also with the wider WasteAid team to develop quality funding proposals and fundraising assets. To research, explore and initiate new fundraising approaches with potential new funders.

Income Generation

• Support the senior fundraising team to research and develop potential opportunities for maximising income generation
• Support the senior team to identify and secure new supporters/partners and ensure effective engagement with established supporters. This includes:

- Diverse Outreach

- Proposal Development

- Participation in pitch sessions / donor meetings

• Rolling stewardship and relationship management for a number of potential and current donors. Including coordinating staff fundraising /other donor activity and admin to support the partnership

Raising WasteAid’s Profile

• Promote the aims and objectives of WasteAid, increasing public awareness and support
• Ensure project donor partnership plans are in place and implemented in liaison with the project teams and WasteAid’s PR function

Marketing and Communication

• Develop and maintain appropriate fundraising materials to attract donors and support compelling applications for funding
• Work with WasteAid’s PR company to maintain effective communications and good relations with our donors. Ensuring that they are updated on the organisation’s work and achievements with a view to extending and increasing their support where possible
• Utilise and maximise the use of all communication platforms to promote fundraising and the work of WasteAid including social media, local media support and the promotion of third-party led fundraising
• Ensure all communication channels are monitored, including social media comments and inboxes, and any incoming communications and queries dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner

Other

• Analyse, monitor and report on fundraising activity and performance to inform ongoing fundraising planning and improvement
• Responsible for ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept of all fundraising activities on WasteAid’s CRM system
• Responsible for ensuring WasteAid’s fundraising and communication activities follow best practice and are compliant with internal policies and procedures, GDPR, the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation, Charity Commission requirements and all other relevant legislation

1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fundraising/income generation (or a related field) with good influencing (e.g. writing or pitching) skills

Purpose of the role 

You will be working with the Communications and Engagement team to promote CharityComms and what we offer, through the creation and development of effective and engaging content, and community and stakeholder engagement. 

Communications and content are at the heart of this role, and we’re looking for someone with demonstratable experience in strategic, content-based projects, including commissioning and editing content from external stakeholders, social media management and content creation, and community management. 

Social media management and community engagement 

You will own the social media management of our channels, maximising their performance and supporting stakeholder engagement with our work. You will:

• Deliver and adapt a creative and engaging social content strategy with the Communications and Engagement Manager that meets our wider business aims and objectives. 
• Craft key organisational messaging into engaging social media content and posts to generate conversations. 
• Be responsible for creating, scheduling and managing social content using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our management tool, Sprout Social. 
• Responsible for maintaining upkeep of social analytics reporting, as directed by the Communications and Engagement Manager, to ensure activity supports wider marketing, communications and engagement strategies. 
• Continuously improve our social media presence and brand profile, including recommending and piloting new approaches to content and channel development to increase community engagement and meet targets.

JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Development will be a dynamic leader within the RUH and a charismatic ambassador externally. Responsible for leading the Development Team across all funding streams and personally managing a select portfolio of major gift prospects, the role will transform our approach to fundraising and philanthropy, delivering against demanding targets and key projects (research, patient & staff support, capital campaigns, medical equipment and ‘where the need is greatest’). This is an exciting opportunity to help lead, grow and re-shape the Development Team and is a pivotal role within the SLT, reporting directly to the Head of RUHX.

The successful candidate will be the entrepreneurial force behind leading a team to grow income to £4m+ to support projects and campaigns across the RUH. You will be an experienced fundraising professional with a proven track record of delivering significant income across all funding streams and meeting challenging targets to deliver growth. As an innovative and strategic leader, you will focus on driving donor-centric partnerships, providing exceptional supporter experiences while bolstering exceptional stakeholder relationships.

The Head of Development will be an inspiring and compassionate leader, used to recruiting and motivating a high-performing team and operating a learning and development approach. A skilled communicator and influencer with exceptional diplomatic skills, you will have an ability to develop strong working relationships with staff, trustees, donors and other stakeholders. You will have extensive budget management and planning experience, and will be working closely with the SLT, the Director of Finance and the Charities Committee.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development—The post holder will line manage a successful team of fundraisers and will be responsible for securing a team total of £1.5m per year. The Head of Development will manage a personal portfolio of major gift prospects and will be responsible for the identification and cultivation of potential donors, typically in the region of £250,000 and above, delivering a £1.5m a year.
• Leadership & Management- responsible for providing inspiring and innovative leadership and team management, nurturing a culture of ambition, support, and inclusion at RUHX. Ensure the alignment of the charity's vision, values, and behaviours while managing a high-performing Development Team, in line with best practice.
• Strategy - responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of all development functions of the RUHX’s income generation, in line with the charity’s objectives and the Charities Committee.
• Governance and Compliance- responsible for ensuring RUHX's is compliant with all fundraising regulatory and legal obligations, including GDPR, The Fundraising Regulator and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Financial & Risk Management- responsible for leading and managing the Development Team to meet financial fundraising targets and oversee budgets. Working with the SLT, ensure timely updates to the Head of RUHX and Charities Committee, reporting on risks with recommendations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Trusts Manager will be a driven individual with a background in securing five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts from charitable funders, corporate organisations, and/or Major Donors. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a diverse pool of Trusts and Foundations, both existing and prospective, to maximise philanthropic support across the RUH.

In this role, you will be pivotal in our Development Team, directly reporting to the Head of Development. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the UK's most prominent Trusts and Foundations. Your objective will be to achieve targets by proactively identifying and cultivating relationships with Trusts and Foundations and writing compelling grant applications for our key projects (medical research, patient and staff support, capital campaigns, medical equipment, and 'the area of greatest need.'

The ideal candidate will be adept at nurturing lasting relationships with funders, working towards a team income target of over £1.5m. You will also be a confident stakeholder manager, working closely with clinicians, researchers, and senior leaders to identify some of the key RUH funding areas that can deliver impact.

Central to your success will be your ability to articulate compelling cases for support verbally and in writing, translating complex information into persuasive appeals and grant applications. You will have a proven track record of demonstrating initiative in seizing fundraising opportunities and championing the endeavours of Trusts and Foundations. Your role will secure significant contributions for transformative projects and cultivate a culture of donor-centric giving, fostering long-term partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Development- The post holder will manage Trust and Foundation income and secure an annual income of £500k+ towards the total Development team target of £1.5m. The Trusts Manager will manage a portfolio of major gifts prospects and will be responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of, five, six and seven figures gifts.
• Management—Responsible for managing an established prospect pool and identifying new donors while effectively reporting against income projections. Demonstrate potential for line management capabilities, with the opportunity for supervisory responsibilities as the role grows.
• Governance and Compliance- ensuring philanthropic giving complies with all fundraising regulatory and legal obligations, including GDPR, The Fundraising Regulator and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Financial & Risk Management—Working with the Head of Development, the post holder is responsible for managing Trust and Foundation income and expenditures to meet an individual target.
• External Relations and Communications- working with the Head of Development and the Marketing & Communications Team, supporting corporate communications, public relations, and brand consistency in relation to Trust and Foundation giving.

The Philanthropy Manager will be a driven individual with a background in securing five-, six-, and sevenfigure gifts from charitable funders, corporate organisations, and/or Major Donors. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a diverse pool of Major Donors, both existing and prospective, to maximise philanthropic support across the RUH.

In thisrole, you will be pivotal in our Development Team, directly reporting to the Head of Development. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the UK's most prominent philanthropists. Your objective will be to achieve targets by proactively identifying and cultivating relationships with major donors and channelling their interests towards our key projects (medical research, patient and staff support, capital campaigns, medical equipment, and 'the area of greatest need.'

The ideal candidate will be adept at nurturing lasting relationships with funders, working towards a team income target of over £1.5m. You will also be a confident stakeholder manager, working closely with clinicians, researchers, and senior leaders to identify some of the key RUH funding areas that can deliver impact.

Central to your success will be your ability to articulate compelling cases for support verbally and in writing, translating complex information into persuasive appeals. You will have a proven track record of demonstrating initiative in seizing fundraising opportunities and championing philanthropic endeavours. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development- The post holder will manage philanthropic income and secure an annual income of £500k+ towards the total Development team target of £1.5m. The Philanthropy Manager will manage a portfolio of major gifts prospects and will be responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of, five, six and seven figures gifts.
• Management—Responsible for managing an established prospect pool and identifying new donors while effectively reporting against income projections. Demonstrate potential for line management capabilities, with the opportunity for supervisory responsibilities as the role grows.
• Governance and Compliance- ensuring philanthropic giving complies with all fundraising regulatory and legal obligations, including GDPR, The Fundraising Regulator and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Financial & Risk Management—Working with the Head of Development, I am responsible for managing philanthropic income and expenditures to meet an individual target.
• External Relations and Communications- working with the Head of Development and the Marketing & Communications Team, supporting corporate communications, public relations, and brand consistency in relation to major donor giving.

Director of Fundraising & Communications

Bristol Charities mission is to provide opportunities and support for people and communities to improve lives through grants, housing and charitable projects.

They are at a very exciting time in their development and have created a new role of Director of Fundraising & Communications to help them on their journey. This a new role that will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the charity as well as securing the resources to deliver sustainable growth in the work and impact of the charity.

Going forward their work will be delivered though a distinctive and coherent Community Hub model, which will be holistic, person-centred, integrated, joined-up, and promote a partnership approach.  They also purchased The Vassall Centre in 2021, with long term plans to redevelop the site for community benefit.

In the short term they plan to relaunch the Vassall Centre as a standout, accessible, and affordable workspace venue for charitable organisations.  Their community Hubs will include directly delivered Bristol Charities programmes/projects, services delivered by local partners, and services delivered by their strategic partners. They are also looking to increase the number of housing units they manage, either through development of their existing sites, through acquisition of new sites or through partnership working with other local housing providers, and any new Housing Schemes will incorporate the new Hub model.

Bristol Charities now need to recruit an experienced, passionate, and entrepreneurial fundraising professional; someone who is capable of not only overseeing a small but growing communications function, but who also recognises the importance of aligning fundraising and communications strategies and activity.

Main Responsibilities 

Strategy and Planning

Working with the Chief Executive and Development and Communications Committee to set and lead on the development of NCO’s development strategy, setting fundraising targets in line with strategic objectives.

Oversee all fundraising activity and report to the Chief Executive, NCO Board and Finance Committee on progress towards income targets.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, represent the Development function to ensure full account is taken of development potential whilst contributing towards the leadership and strategic direction of NCO.

Individual Giving

Lead on re-establishing NCO’s Individual Giving programme, drawing on the potential pipeline of current stakeholders (eg parents and alumni) and delegating to/working with the Development Team in its successful delivery.

Lead on new mid/major donor giving and relationships including legacies, personally managing a portfolio of prospects and donors.

Support the Development team to lead in the delivery of NCO’s annual giving programmes, ie Friends and Patrons.

Lead on individual campaigns, working collaboratively with the Development team to maximise opportunities to engage with new supporters through events and matched funding initiatives (eg The Big Give).

Work with the Chief Executive and other senior staff to ensure the continued engagement and support of the NCO Board.

Trusts and Foundations

Lead on fundraising from Trusts & Foundations and other grant giving bodies (excluding statutory funding).

Research and cultivate existing and new funders, working with the Chief Executive, Board and the Development Team to initiate new partnerships and maintaining systems to ensure that those partnerships are successfully managed and sustained.

Prepare compelling major grant applications to secure new funding with sound attention to detail, and work with colleagues by leading and advising on other vital grant applications undertaken by members of the Development team, sharing best practice in fundraising to develop the organisation’s skills.

As part of the Development team, provide appropriate and timely monitoring information to trusts and foundations, as required by their conditions of support including, where appropriate, organising events and visits.

Corporate Fundraising

Lead the Development team on stewarding existing and cultivating new corporate sponsors and ensuring benefits and recognition are delivered across NCO’s marketing channels.

Statutory Funding

Support the Chief Executive and wider team to ensure that NCO fulfils its quarterly and annual reporting requirements to Arts Council England and the Department for Education and in the creation of new funding applications including as part of the next ACE Investment Review.

(NB: The day to day management and reporting requirements of NCO’s NPO and DfE grants will be managed by a newly appointed Business Administrator and overseen by the Chief Executive).

Organisation and Management

Line manage NCO’s Development Manager through individual objective setting and performance management, regular 1:1 meetings and identification of training needs.

Empower the Development team by ensuring they have regular opportunities to develop their skills and experience across different areas of fundraising and through training whilst supporting them wholeheartedly in their professional development.

Inspire and lead the Development team, and set an example, on the application, implementation and adherence to all NCO policies and procedures.

Support the Development team to lead on the development of NCO’s CRM System (Beacon) in specific relation to its fundraising functions, in line with the Data Protection Act.

Maximise the potential of Gift Aid from all donations, supporting the Development team to ensure all donations and payments received are appropriately logged, accompanied by appropriate paperwork and in line with annual audit requirements and submitted in a timely manner.

Produce Development reports for quarterly Board and Finance Committee meetings, attending online and in person as required.

Undertake research and maintain a high level of knowledge about trusts, foundations, individuals, and statutory funding to inform planning.

Represent NCO at conferences undertaking public and media presentations, attending conferences and events and lobbying forums as appropriate

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team as the E-Commerce Manager. 

In line with our ecommerce strategy, Sustrans has invested over the past years to increase sales through our e-commerce shop and now needs to find new approaches to maximise revenue. 

As the E-Commerce Manager, you will be responsible for maximising e-commerce revenue by optimising the martech stack, improving audience insights, product development/management and  promotion through digital and offline marketing channels. 

As part of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team, you will work closely with colleagues in Supporter Engagement and Giving, Strategic Communications, Finance as well as external agencies and suppliers. 

This role has line management responsibilities for two-part time colleagues, the E-Commerce Promotions Officer and the E-Commerce Products Officer.

As part of our exciting plans for growth, we are seeking a Development Manager to lead on the organisation’s fundraising and communications to fulfil our mission and play a key role in supporting the next phase of Frazzled Cafe’s growth and development.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy with a range of fundraising activities focusing primarily on trusts and foundations but also individual donors, corporate partners and fundraising campaigns. You will also lead on creating a communications strategy to significantly grow our reach, brand and impact. Working with our Training and Programmes Manager, you will support our plans to expand our network of fantastic Volunteer Facilitators.

MAIN TASKS

Fundraising

● Lead on developing and delivering an annual fundraising strategy to support our ambitious plans for growth, securing a minimum of £250k per year from Trusts and Foundations, individual donors, fundraising events and campaigns, and corporate partnerships.

Person Specification:

As the Helping Rhino Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the charity’s fundraising goals through multiple income streams. There will be a focus on stewarding and growing the charity’s major donor database (both individual and corporate), delivery of successful engagement and fundraising events and producing creative online appeals. The role will also require the successful candidate to drive income from legacies and guide the Charity and Fundraising Administrator to deliver our community fundraising and every day giving targets.

The role will be supported by the CEO and the Charity and Fundraising Administrator.

This is a fantastic opportunity that would suit an individual with a proven track record of achieving ambitions fundraising targets and someone who will play a key role in the growth of Helping Rhinos over the next 5 years. We are looking for someone currently working in a similar role or someone who has experience of multi-stream fundraising and is ready to step up to deliver an initial target of £600k in year one, rising to £5m in 5 years.
