The Role

The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a Digital Enabler. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. The Digital Enabler will facilitate the effective participation by all members in the life of the Church in the North West England District by supporting stakeholders at all levels to facilitate digital evangelism and building and maintaining the District’s online presence.

NWED

NWED came to being in September 2024 following the joining together of a number of Methodist Districts. We cover the geographical area of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. Within this are inner city, industrial, post-industrial, suburban, and rural areas – no two towns are the same.

The District embraces a rich breadth and variety of theological perspectives and worship styles. A range of fresh expressions of Church (messy church, café church, arts-based projects, digital spaces etc.) are nurtured without neglecting the other, more traditional, expressions and all are equally valued.

We exist primarily to advance the mission of the Methodist Church in our District by supporting churches and circuits (a circuit is a group of churches served by a team, including one or more ministers). The District seeks to support each circuit and church to meet the needs of their members and the communities in which they serve, offering opportunities to worship, work and learn together.

Job purpose:

To engage and motivate our target audiences by delivering Rewilding Britain's social media outputs and assisting with our email campaigns and website content, with a view to continually enhancing our impact.

Line Manager: Digital Communications Lead

Your responsibilities will include:

Social media delivery and community management

• Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members.
• Produce text- and video-/graphic-based social media posts and campaigns that are both suited to our target audiences and adapted for the most appropriate social channels.
• Carry out community management across the charity's digital channels, triaging queries and drafting responses.
• Assist with the optimisation of Rewilding Britain's current social media channels and the identification of new opportunities/platforms/trends that would help further our mission.
  

Email communications 

• Support the Communications and Engagement team with the planning, building and scheduling of email communications (campaigns, supporters, fundraising, corporate partners etc) within Mailchimp.
• Assist with the AB testing of our email marketing and executing a plan of continuous improvement for our emails.
• Support with managing our enquiry inboxes as and when required.
  

Reporting and optimising

• Collate statistics on the performance of our social and email channels, in line with our KPIs, and work closely with the Digital Communications Lead to make ongoing recommendations for our output.
• Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve our social media approach.
• Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow the effectiveness of our channels, particularly social media.

Communications support

• Take responsibility for triaging internal requests for content output across our channels and coordinate this across the Communications and  Engagement team.
• Assist the team in keeping our image library up to date, by uploading and tagging new imagery.
• Support the team by uploading content to Rewilding Britain's website, following best practice. You may also provide support for more involved web optimisation projects.
• Support with the preparation and delivery of online and in-person events. As well as providing social media and email support, this could include representing Rewilding Britain alongside other team members at events, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, rallies and more.
• Contribute to content production across the team, where relevant, such as producing blogs or carrying out image research.
• Support the Communications Team with general administrative tasks where required.

•  At least two years' experience in a similar digital communications role, delivering successful content across social media and/or email to further organisational objectives.
• Proven experience in managing social media channels in a professional role, including LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, as well as others that might be relevant for Rewilding Britain.
• Experience of reporting on digital communications and campaigns and measuring impact, using analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Plausible and social media management tools such as Hootsuite and Metricool.

Desirable

• Experience working in a sector relevant to rewilding, and understanding of the rewilding movement.
• Experience in producing email communications in a professional environment.
• Experience in managing web content, with an understanding of best practice and familiarity with web content management

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.

The salary is £23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.

Understanding the market is key as you’ll be helping our member students’ unions to interpret current trends and develop them into successful action within member commercial operations.

You will work between police custody and criminal courts. You will assess, advise and refer offenders, providing them the opportunity to access treatment to address their substance use. Working with courts you will promote the use of Community Sentence Treatment Requirements (Drug Rehabilitations Requirements and Alcohol Treatment Requirements) amongst all court professionals and the judiciary, contributing to Pre-Sentence Reports and advocate for our service users.

You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance use work including assertive engagement, harm reduction support (including naloxone provision), as well as other associated duties. The Role

This is an exciting and pivotal new role, with huge scope and freedom to increase our reach and promote our dynamic, unique charity in a direct and rewarding way.

Your first job will be to draft our Social Media and Creative Communications Plan, setting out the key opportunities, milestones and targets for the next few years.

You’ll be responsible for developing our brand presence across multiple social media platforms. You’ll manage authentic, highly-engaging campaigns that delight our community, creating emotional connections and delivering results.

An all-rounder with the ability to see social media and communication plans through from inception to delivery, you’ll be adept at creating and editing digital media as well as analysing their performance.

In this role you’ll work closely within our tight-knit team, reporting directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

• Bring the brand to life on social media with compelling and consistently engaging creative communication.
• Draft and roll out a compelling Social Media and Creative Communications Plan.
• Set KPIs, work to targets, analyse and report on performance.
• Reacting quickly to opportunities and title deadlines, keeping pace with a dynamic agenda.
• Increase engagement for existing audiences while acquiring new followers.
• Lead the creation and delivery of email marketing to charity stakeholders and our wider community.
• Create and run a GTM calendar to plan and schedule posts and campaigns that support the brand strategy.
• Work with the Executive Director to design and deliver integrated digital fundraising campaigns.
• Provide support Social Media support to our Netherlands and Norway hubs as required.

About the role

We’re looking for an Insight Analyst with good SQL skills and great proactivity to join our Strategic Insights team. The primary focus of this role is to support Young Lives vs Cancer to use relevant, timely and accurate information to support decision making and drive innovation and impact. Working as part of the Strategic Insight team, this may include:

• Developing insight and learning with the aim of improving our impact.
• Working with colleagues within the Income & Engagement directorate to analyse data on supporters, and develop insight to ensure sustainable income.
• Working on Services data to understand our reach and impact.
• Contributing to continual learning – so we understand what is working—and what is not—for children, young people and their families across the system.
• Supporting Young Lives Vs Cancer to develop and use insight which enables us to achieve our strategy, The Time is Now, and to move towards our North Star vision.

The Insight Analyst will work with stakeholders to define the key questions to be answered that will support effective decision making and continuous improvement. Working with various colleagues, they will use both internal and external data sets to deliver strategic analysis and actionable insight to teams across Young Lives vs Cancer. They will be curious with data, striving for relevant, timely and accurate insight. They will also be instrumental in creating and maintaining a culture which centres evidence, insight and continuous learning.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

Interacting with data through SQL and PowerBI to generate metrics, KPIs and actionable insights.

• Work with key stakeholders to understand their requests, proactively interpreting and predicting their requirements.
• Working as part of the Strategic Insight team to move through their backlog and to improve their processes, ensuring the team delivers insight that has impact and value.

About You

You will have experience working or volunteering for a charity and in writing successful bids and securing income, ideally from trusts.

You will have:

· The ability to take complex information and translate this into persuasive written communication which leads to action.

· Solid research skills, which can be applied to identification of suitable new prospects for a funding pipeline.

· Ability to operate in a highly cohesive, high performing team based on the principles of trust, mutual respect, and empowerment.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements of PETA, PETA France, PETA US, and PETA Science Consortium International e.V, the successful candidate will undertake the following:

• Independently research and interpret a variety of scientific, political, policy-driven, and other issues related to animal testing in order to further PETA’s goals

• Build networks and coordinate meetings with key policymakers and other stakeholders
• Write factsheets, white papers, reports, correspondence, and other literature
• Build relationships and maintain communication with key audiences, particularly decision-makers in the legislative and administrative arenas
• Lead meetings with parliamentarians, companies, and legislators and present at conferences
