We are seeking change in three principle areas:
- Tobacco-style legislation to restrict advertising for high carbon products, namely: airlines, airports, non-electric cars (especially SUVs) and fossil fuel companies
- Strengthening national planning regulations to protect our public spaces and neighbourhoods from the spread of intrusive, outdoor digital advertising screens.
- The introduction of policies to reduce demand for aviation in a fair and equitable manner, including a frequent flyer levy.
Working with others in the Possible team and our partner organisations on the Badvertising project Adfree Cities and New Weather Institute, you’ll keep on top of the latest developments in areas of sustainable transport, aviation and public space planning policies. You’ll design interventions and events for innovative policy proposals which move the ‘choice architecture’ in which we make decisions away from business-as-usual and towards an economy that puts communities, sustainability and a liveable planet first. In all this you’ll be assisted by experts in the wider Possible team and supported by a caring workplace.

Main duties and responsibilities
Casework management -

- Line manages all casework advisers by supporting and enabling them to provide high quality information and advice support, and signposting to external specialist agencies in a sensitive, confidential, and professional manner.
Service development and delivery -

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Research, the Research Manager will manage the Stroke Association’s research funding activities and portfolio of active research awards. The Augustinian Sisters and Trustees of Ince Blundell Hall Liverpool, are seeking a highly motivated person to take responsibility for the effective development and successful delivery of a new project for carers.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the trustees of Ince Blundell Hall estate to provide much needed facilities for unpaid carers to benefit the community of Sefton and further afield.
Ince Blundell Hall, a fine Georgian mansion set in fifty acres of natural beauty, is a unique venue and an ideal environment to offer carers the facility to rest, relax and recuperate.
The successful candidate will be a strong self-starter, possess excellent organisational skills including the ability to produce a comprehensive business plan and budget and implement operations to establish the facility for unpaid carers.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of making things happen and the business acumen to connect and collaborate with a wide variety of external organisations especially in the area of fund raising and grants.
As a Catholic charity the delivery and management of the project must be underpinned by respecting the teaching of the Catholic Church particularly within the areas of its Christian ethos and its moral social teaching. It will also be important to have an understanding of the charism of the Augustinian Sisters.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the team, working 28 hours per week.
Young lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We currently use a hybrid working model. This role falls under the hybrid - variable category. This role is part home, part site based (your contractual base will be both Home and Addenbrooke’s Hospital). You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.
The office-based working will be at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, to provide support to children and young people (0-24 years, with a focus on over 13’s) diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia, and their families.
This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will work closely with our supportive Young Lives vs Cancer team, an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and with services in the community.
You will have:
- Current Social Work England Registration
- Experience of working with children, young people and their families/carers in a social care setting.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of child and young people development.
- An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and families.
- All applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of child welfare and safeguarding

About the role
The service address the needs of homeless individuals with complex requirements. They are currently seeking a motivated and empathetic Complex Needs Project Worker to join the team on a temporary basis. The Accommodation based hostel service provides support to 14 service users enduring Complex Needs whom previously experienced sleeping rough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support/Well-being Plans: Develop and implement individualised support and well being plans for each client in collaboration with the wider team.
- Needs & Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments to identify and address the unique challenges faced by each client.
- Liaison with External Support Services: Work closely with external support services, including health care providers, social services, and community organisations, to ensure holistic care for our clients.

The Project
An emotional and wellbeing service that supports adults aged 18+ in primary care who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Patients are offered extended consultation times, quick and easy access to practical advice and tailored support for their mental health needs from a multidisciplinary team.
Patients can explore the situation affecting their wellbeing – whether that is an ongoing mental or physical health problem, loneliness, debt, or other issues. They can then be guided to appropriate resources that may help, including talking therapies, benefits advice, or an introduction to a local community group.
The role of the Community Connector is fundamental to the developing of these innovative teams and mental health services based within networks of GP Practices (Primary Care Networks – PCNs). The role supports the ongoing development and mobilisation of integrated primary care mental health services.
The Role
Providing a primary care mental health service within this context refers to:
- First level of intervention
- Ease of access
- A multidisciplinary approach working a range of professionals across PCN’s inclusive of GP’s, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Practitioners, Pharmacists and Psychiatrists.
- Supporting patients to access to a wide range of community services and resources including social care, housing, family, debt and employment support that contribute toward maintaining good health and wellbeing.
About You
Below is the essential criteria of the role:
- A diploma or degree in appropriate subject i.e. counselling, psychology, social work, probation, mental health, Health and Social Care (Level 3) or NVQ Level 3+ and/or a minimum of 2 years community experience of mental health work.
