About the Role

The role: Royal Navy Sports and Community Infrastructure Project Officer - full time/35 hours per week

About the role:
We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to generate income for the Olive Tree Cancer Support Group through the development and implementation of a Trust & Foundations strategy. About you:

Purpose
The Marketing Assistant is a varied role, working primarily in our Supporter Relations team, but also supporting other areas of the Fundraising and Communications team.
The primary focus of this position is to provide an excellent customer experience for CBM supporters so that every interaction is carried out with excellence, integrity and efficiency. This will help to create and be part of a supporter experience that develops and maintains long-term relationships with dedicated individuals and churches across the UK. The Marketing Assistant will ensure supporters feel valued and engaged with CBMs work.
On a day-to-day basis the position holder will be engaging with supporters by phone, email and writing, in responding to a wide range of enquiries, and carrying out administrative activities associated with marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials.
The successful applicant requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as confidence to make outbound phone calls to build relationships, thank supporters, to share updates on our work, and ask for donations to build relationships, grow supporter engagement and maximise long-term income.
The position is part of a dedicated and enthusiastic Fundraising and Communications team, and part of this role is to provide additional administrative support to the wider team, specifically in areas such as 121 supporter communications to fundraisers doing events, churches, and legacy and in memoriam supporters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inbound enquiries (40%)
Respond to the needs of CBM supporters and the public through the handling of inbound calls and emails in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
This includes:
a. Taking and processing donations over the telephone.
b. Handling requests, feedback and complaints in a respectful and timely manner, and offering solutions when appropriate.
c. Updating supporter records on the Customer Relationship Management system (currently Salesforce) and carrying out mail or email follow-up when required.
d. Responding to emails in the giving inbox, directing queries appropriately and maintaining organised records of communication.
e. Co-ordinating and responding to comments made on CBM’s social media platforms.
2. Outbound 121 communications (30%):
Carry out outbound calls to potential and existing supporters to inspire donations and explain over the telephone how support will transform lives, following set briefs and guidelines, but when applicable engaging supporters in conversation in a non-scripted approach. This includes:
a. Regular outbound calls and emails include thanking and stewardship communications, asking for support by Direct Debit, clarifying Gift Aid statuses, and discussing the possibility of supporting the charity in a Will.
b. Update the outcome of calls on supporter records on the CRM system.
c. Process donations made over the phone, carrying out mail or email follow-up when required, using existing materials and letter templates.
d. Refer follow up actions that are outside of the team’s remit to the relevant team or individual.
e. Contribute to the creation and development of guidelines for in- and out-bound telephone conversations.
3. Additional administrative duties (30%):
Perform a variety of other administrative tasks to support the wider fundraising team:
a. Data inputting, preparation and reports.
b. Updating and proofing fundraising materials.
c. Supporting speaker and church coordination when required.
d. Co-ordinating the stock and the distribution of supporter materials and fundraiser resources.
e. Mailing out church packs, thank you letters, and personalised communications, such as handwritten cards.
f. Liaise with colleagues and attend meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of CBM’s work.
g. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, which reflects the ambitions of CBM.

About the Project
Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver support in the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) at Lister Hospital.
The MHUCC provides a dedicated space and service for rapid mental health assessment, intervention, and referral, thereby enhancing the quality of care and optimising use of systemwide resources. It provides 24-hour access to specialist mental health assessment aimed at supporting service users to access the least restrictive care and treatment options. It creates a systemwide response to acute mental health crisis that enables people’s needs to be met with the right care at the right time.
About the Role:
The Support, Time and Recovery (STAR) Worker will be based at the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre at Lister Hospital, promoting joint working and creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.
The STAR workers will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in the MHUCC, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.
You will have a key role with safe and supportive observations and attending to the service users on the unit. You will provide support for carers and liaise with the wider services to support smooth and timely discharge of service users back to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a consistent presence in the MHUCC for individuals with mental health needs to access for support.
- To advocate for service users, explaining organisations and pathways.
- To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
- To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely MHUCC discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
- To gather feedback and evaluation on patient experience in the MHUCC
- To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
- To link in with wider Herts Mind Network services and facilitate referrals
- To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
- To support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

The role of Helpline Advisor
For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.
During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.
As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.
The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to generate income for the Olive Tree Cancer Support Group through community and corporate fundraising, principally in Crawley and Horsham and surrounding areas. This will involve planning and implementing a community and corporate fundraising strategy, engaging with individual donors, community organisations and corporate sponsors to generate a significant level of income to agreed targets and working with the wider team to advance the goals of the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced community and corporate fundraiser who is confident and capable in taking the lead on this key strand of our fundraising stream. You will be managed by the Centre Manager and supported by the Trustees and will have autonomy on leading on individual donors, community and corporate events and partnerships.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of building relationships in a fundraising role, across a variety of audiences resulting in increased income generation. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with an ability to inspire and motivate others and engage compassionately with service users.
You will need excellent organisational skills with a good understanding of fundraising targets, as well as strategic thinking ability in combination with good problem-solving skills. You must be a team player, with a mature, credible and conscientious approach, as you will be part of a small team, working with vulnerable service users, in a key role for the organisation. You will also be required to assist in day-to-day operations at the Centre.
The flexibility and willingness to work several evenings and weekend days throughout the year and ability to travel independently is essential for this role.
What we’re looking for and main responsibilities:
• Experience working within a charitable environment.
• Ability to lead the strategic and operational management specific to the Olive Tree community and corporate fundraising functions to help deliver agreed income targets.
• Ability to act as an ambassador and build and maintain relationships with individual donors, community organisations and community partners to maximise donations.

About the role:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Philanthropy Officer to join our small, ambitious team and help secure the funding that makes our work possible. Our Philanthropy team builds meaningful relationships with supporters—particularly charitable trusts and foundations—to secure a significant proportion of Future Frontiers’ income.
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you’ll help build a sustainable pipeline of high-value supporters. You’ll focus on researching new funding opportunities, crafting high-quality funding applications, writing tailored reports, and ensuring excellent donor stewardship.
You’ll bring exceptional writing skills, outstanding attention to detail and a proactive, people-focused approach. You may have fundraising experience, or bring a strong understanding of relationship-building from another sector. You’ll thrive on spotting opportunities, shaping persuasive cases for support and connecting with supporters.
You’ll also be highly organised, keeping accurate records and ensuring our funders feel appreciated and connected to our work. Your responsibilities:
Identify new funding opportunities:
You’ll lead on identifying charitable trusts, foundations and major donors with the potential to support Future Frontiers. Through proactive research and collaboration with other teams, you’ll build and qualify a strong pipeline of prospective funders, matching them with appropriate asks. A key part of the role is ensuring a steady flow of new prospects, with regular research and outreach to grow our portfolio of supporters.
Build and manage a portfolio of supporters:
You’ll develop a strong understanding of existing and prospective supporters, enabling you to provide thoughtful, tailored relationship management. With guidance from the Head of Philanthropy, you’ll help build and maintain relationships with a range of grant-making trusts and foundations, securing donations and delivering proactive stewardship to encourage continued support. You’ll also act as an ambassador for Future Frontiers, creating opportunities for supporters to connect with our work.
Write applications for funding:
You’ll craft high-quality funding proposals that make a persuasive case for how each supporter’s contribution will make a difference for young people facing disadvantage. Every application will be tailored to the funder’s priorities, and your exceptional writing skills and attention to detail will ensure each one is clear, accurate and compelling.
Report on impact:
You’ll demonstrate the difference our supporters make by delivering high-quality reports, updates and case studies that bring our impact to life. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to gather the right information and write clear and engaging updates that reflect each funder’s interests and requirements. You’ll manage reporting timelines and ensure our commitments are met, helping to secure future funding and strengthen relationships.
Keep accurate and detailed records:
You’ll make sure all fundraising activity is recorded promptly and accurately, helping us track relationships, deadlines and progress. You’ll support the team’s efficiency by keeping organised records and helping to manage key administrative processes. You’ll also ensure we meet data protection and fundraising regulations, including GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
Contribute to wider organisational priorities:
You’ll be a collaborative team member, supporting cross-team projects and organisation-wide initiatives as needed. From time to time, you may also be asked to take on other duties in line with your role.
