As Head of Finance and Operations you will lead the lay staff team and help establish and deliver a strong strategic vision for the parish church through providing strong leadership to the finance, administration and operations of the parish church day-to-day.

The Organisation:

Today’s parish church – the fourth to have served the parish – is not only home to a diverse worshipping congregation, but to a flourishing Centre for Psychotherapy and a long-established innovative NHS Primary Care Practice. In addition, there are two parish Academy schools, the Outstanding The St Marylebone CE School and the UK’s only Church Special School, The St Marylebone CE Bridge School.

The present Parish Church, erected between 1813 and 1817, is renowned for its world-class music and community engagement. Everyone is welcome here and the building is open 365 days a year. In 2024, St Marylebone Parish Church was named UK Church of the Year and the UK’s Best Church Open for Visitors by the National Churches’ Trust.

The key duties of this Head of Finance & Operations are as follows:

• Lead on the development and execution of financial strategy, financial planning, budgeting and cost control.
• Ensure that resources (money, people and property) are managed effectively and efficiently in support of the strategy, aims and objectives of the parish church.
• Manage the running of financial operations including the preparation of management accounts, cash flow forecasts, out-sourced payroll, tax returns, creditor payments and investments.
• Manage budgeting and planning processes, providing all appropriate financial data, and supporting budget-holding staff in all areas.
• Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and be the main contact with external auditors.
• Work with building and maintenance team to ensure that St. Marylebone’s parish church is well maintained, preserved and presented.
• Manage the administration associated with the PCC, monitoring actions and helping to prepare meeting agendas.
• Work with HR to lead the personnel function for all PCC employees.
• Support the Heritage, Events and Volunteer Manager in their efforts to bring in more and different visitors to the parish church.
• Work with the Building Manager to ensure that Health and Safety matters and security are managed effectively.
• Work closely with the Technology and Operations Manager to ensure that the IT, AV and other systems serving the parish church operate effectively.
• Work with the Community & Development Manager, to support fundraising activities.

The successful candidate will have:

• A full accountancy qualification, or equivalent qualification by experience.
• Previous experience within a Cathedral, Major Parish Church or elsewhere in the charity sector.
• Expert understanding and knowledge of SORP.
• Experience in budgeting and cost control, including provision of reports and analysis to an audience with different levels of financial literacy.
• Experience in managing and motivating teams.
• Confident financial leadership skills, capable of directing financial strategy and delivering highest quality financial management.
• Empathy and excitement for the parish church’s purpose, vision and priorities.

It’s a hugely exciting time for the Charity, with the appointment of a new CEO and Director of Income & Engagement to lead an ambitious period of growth. The Head of Individual Giving will provide strategic leadership to the Individual Giving team and leading a programme set to raise £4.1m this year. Key duties include:

• Develop and deliver a multi-year IG strategy to grow the active donor base, maximising long term sustainable income from all individual giving income streams.

• Take an active role in contributing to the development of the Charity’s wider Income Generation and Engagement Strategy, ensuring a seamless approach to lifetime supporter engagement. This includes working proactively with the wider team to develop and refine an engaging case for support to represent the Charity’s programmes authentically.
• Manage an experienced team of 3 direct reports, leading on the development of an optimal team structure and ethos to hit ambitious income targets.
• Develop the legacy strategy including case for support, stewardship and marketing plans to engage both known and unknown supporters including members, philanthropists, financial supporters, followers and advocates.
• Contribute to a culture that embraces change, open communication, ambition, innovation, future-thinking and external focus.

We’re looking for the following skills & experience for this role:

• Extensive experience in developing and delivering Individual Giving strategic plans and budgets, with the ability to monitor and evaluate progress effectively.
• Demonstrated success in driving significant net income and long-term value by developing and executing individual giving acquisition and retention strategies.
• Proven track record in overseeing and managing all aspects of Individual Giving and Legacy Marketing.
• Skilled in agency management and evaluation to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Experience in leading, inspiring, and managing teams, with a focus on motivating and developing fundraisers to meet income targets and objectives.
• In-depth knowledge of fundraising compliance, GDPR regulations, and fundraising best practice.

Overall purpose:

To account for and report of the financial performance of GWEC as a whole, Belgium parent entities and other subsidiaries.

To support the UK, Belgium Secretariat and international teams in all financial aspects relating accounting.

Main duties and responsibilities

Working closely with the Finance Team and outsourced local finance specialists:

• Prepare regular management accounts, budget performance and cashflow forecast for group and subsidiaries

• Perform consolidation of the group

• Lead GWEC parent company accounting

• Monthly posting to and reconciliation of project fund accounts

• Prepare monthly accounting close, perform the year end close, and

• Work with the CFO in preparation of the annual financial statements

• Oversee weekly payment runs

Job Purpose
The Partnerships Coordinator post is an exciting role with Tutor Trust. You will assist the Strategic Partnerships Manager to maintain and build key school relationships and networks contributing to customer retention and business growth.
The Partnerships Coordinator will also work very closely with the Partnership Operations team and the Communications & Marketing team to contribute positively to the overall success and innovation of the organisation.
Main Functions

• Assist with setting up key school partnerships across West Yorkshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
• Assist with completing partnership agreements.
• Conduct regional research to better understand region-wide school needs.
• Create reports or presentations for meetings with school partners.
• Track school partner data and communication in Salesforce.
• Attend engagement events and conferences in order to network and build relationships with school leaders and organisations supporting tutoring.
• To assist in the recruitment process for new tutors, including short listing and interviewing.
• To assist with facilitating communication between school partners/projects and internal teams, acting as a liaison to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment on projects and goals.
• Support all three regions to develop existing partnerships with schools, colleges, MATs, local authorities and archdioceses.
• Take part in general induction presentations and other events to promote the Tutor Trust both internally and externally.
• Help with preparation for Tutor Trust events aimed at a range of stakeholders.
• Responsible for sharing conference experiences on social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
• Work with the Communications & Marketing Team to design and deploy external facing comms materials and campaigns to maximise visibility and reach.
• Participate in project work across the organisation.
• Assist other staff to complete a variety of administrative tasks that enable the Trust to operate effectively and efficiently.

Person Specification

Good candidates for this role will be high achievers, with excellent IT and English skills, diplomatic and inter-personal skills, and plenty of initiative.
Skills

• Educated to degree level.(desirable)
• Business degree, qualification, training or experience (desirable).
• Must have achieved a minimum of Grade B at GCSE in Maths and English Excellent IT, CRM (preferable) and software system skills , including competency with Microsoft Excel and Salesforce.

We are working with a wonderful charitable trust to recruit an experienced Administrator to support the CEO and leadership team.

About the role:
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Foundation’s CEO and its Leadership Team (comprising 9 Directors). You will liaise with the Foundation’s Trustees and other Board and Committee members, organizing papers, logistics, and taking minutes of meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Assistance to the CEO (approx. 40%)
• Manage CEO’s diary

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in an institutional fundraising role, including managing complex application processes for grant funding and/or service provider contracts; researching and prioritising funding opportunities in line with strategic priorities; and maintaining a funding pipeline. Key to success in this role will be the ability to drive funding applications from start to finish, coordinating inputs from a range of internal stakeholders and external partners.

The role requires excellent attention to detail, impeccable writing skills, solid analytical skills to synthesise and translate draft content into compelling applications, and a proven understanding of institutional funder contracting and compliance requirements.
