The Role

The purpose of the Project and Policy Officer role is to:

• Provide vital project management support to some of the large projects that National Voices runs, such as the Health and Wellbeing Alliance which connects the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector with government stakeholders.
• Assist senior members of the policy team to develop policy projects and outputs which support the adoption and spread of equitable and person-centred health and care services.
• Work with voluntary sector organisations and people with the greatest health and care needs to ensure they are engaged in National Voices’ work.

Responsibilities

 Project organisation and administrative

· Support and coordinate the project management of significant high-profile projects, such as the national Health and Wellbeing Alliance. 

· Maintain records of activity, an online resource library, minutes etc as required.

· Lead on collating evidence of activity and its impact to support evaluation.  

· Support the planning and facilitation of online and in person events such as working days and webinars.

· Support stakeholder management, particularly via email and diary management using electronic systems.

· Maintain lists of stakeholders and contacts to aid dissemination and networking.

Insight, engagement and communication

· Work with voluntary sector organisations and people with the greatest health and care needs in the coordination and support of workshops, focus groups and in-depth interviews.

· Read and analyse the influencing work our members do (reports, events) and share content with the National Voices team, spot and make connections.

· Connect with policy and influencing colleagues in member organisations, sharing our work with members.

· Work with senior members of the team to deliver timely and effective Heads of Policy meetings and Members’ Briefings on strategic topics within health and care.

· Identify, monitor and evaluate policy issues and assist senior members of the team to formulate and draft new policy positions, consultation responses, reports, briefings and other policy and public affairs documents that capture agreed positions.

· Support and develop the communication of project outcomes, working closely with National Voices' Communications Manager.

General

· Assist senior members of the team on a range of short-term and long-term policy and insight projects, and scoping and developing ideas for future projects.

· Support good project, financial and data management.

· Take a pro-active approach to including our members and people with lived experience in all areas of our work.

· Follow processes set out to measure, monitor and communicate the impact of our work.

· Contribute to the team’s planning activities and undertake other relevant duties as appropriate.

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

Befriending Officer

Age UK Birmingham (AUKB) and Age Concern Birmingham (ACB) are working together to reduce loneliness and isolation for the over 50s.

Working with current befriending assets, local communities and the Neighbourhood Network Scheme, the service will identify and address gaps across the city, developing:

· A Befriending Offer Forum

· Creating Friendship Groups

· Reconnecting through short-term on-to-one Befriending Support

Job Purpose

Your role will be to support and strengthen existing befriending services, through the befriending forum.

You will also establish and deliver engaging new friendship groups maximising reach and accessibility across the city. Working with the groups to support them to become self-led, independent, and sustainable.

To work on a one-to-one basis with older adults to assess wellbeing, increase socially activity and signpost to other services as required.

To support and oversee volunteers providing telephone befriending to housebound older people.

 Principal Duties:

· To identify and map existing befriending services and gaps across the city.

· To support ACB Service Manager to establish and operate a Befriending Forum, supporting existing befriending services to maintain and strengthen their befriending offer.

· To establish new friendship groups where there is an unmet need, with the aim of them becoming independent and self-led.

· To risk assess working environments as appropriate in line with Health & Safety policies and procedures.

· To make referrals/signpost to other appropriate agencies and organisations for specialist support based on the individual needs and circumstances.

· To work with ACB Manager to develop and deliver workshops to strengthen befriending services

· To maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring activities, outputs and outcomes are recorded for reporting purposes.

· To report any safeguarding/incidents/accidents to line manager.

· To develop contacts, links, and relationships with other programmes such as Neighbourhood Network Schemes.

· To represent the team at external meetings where appropriate.

· To support and develop volunteers, overseeing their day-to-day activities.

Other duties

We're seeking a part-time Finance Officer to join our small, dedicated team in Millbrook. The Finance Officer will oversee the day-to-day financial processes of the charity, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, assisting with grant applications, and providing financial information to the Board of Trustees.

 The role will be responsible to the CEO, with no line management responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain accurate financial records and produce monthly management accounts for the Board of Trustees.
• Handle payroll and pension processes.
• Manage donor lists and gift aid claims.
• Prepare year end statutory accounts and assist with budgeting.
• Support grant applications and reporting.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience maintaining financial records and producing management information for a small to medium-sized charity.
• Familiarity with accounting software and strong skills in Microsoft 365 (Excel) and Google Sheets.
• Knowledge of fund accounting.
• Recognised accounting/bookkeeping qualification, or working towards one.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Executive Assistant to the CEO role: 

As Executive Assistant to the CEO, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the CEO with the practicalities of achieving Women’s Aid strategic and operational objectives by providing high level confidential administrative, secretarial and diary management, and by delivering high quality, proactive, organisational governance and planning support to our Board of Trustees and subcommittees.The post holder with have line management responsibility of two executive assistants.

 Key duties and responsibilities of the Executive Assistant to the CEO:

• Provide a professional, comprehensive and high-quality executive support to the CEO.
• Play an effective and appropriate role as the primary point of contact for the CEO’s office.
• Support the CEO to manage appointments with her direct reports (x11) and track workstreams and necessary follow-up.
• Provide project administration support and management of discreet pieces of work relating to the executive office, in line with organisational policies.
• To support the CEO and trustees in all aspects of constitutional administration including, but not limited to, arranging and overseeing the Board of Trustees recruitment, induction, appraisal and training; organisation of AGM; Memorandum of Association; Governance Framework; and registration information with Companies House and The Charity Commission, and other associated bodies.

What we are looking for in our Executive Assistant to the CEO:

• Experience of providing a confidential service and operating with discretion at all times and in a fast paced and agile environment
• Ability to effectively digest and summarise complex information, in order to communicate key priorities.
• Excellent time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work to deadlines.
• Extensive experience providing executive assistance, secretarial or administrative support to individuals or a team, with experience of a Senior PA role at Board or Trust level.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference and play a vital role within the Fundraising team at MHA. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the individual giving programme in line with the wider strategic objectives.

The Assistant Chief Operating Officer will support the Chief Operating Officer in their duties, principally in assisting with administration of the revised governance introduced as part of the Cathedrals Measure, as well as emerging requirements in Safeguarding and Net Zero.

This is a hands-on and varied role which will include responsibility for our internal and external communications, our social media channels and website content.  Key tasks will include marketing our services and activities and liaising with press and media. 

With a background in marketing or comms, you will have first class communication, influencing and negotiating skills, the ability to engage with people from all walks of life and the passion to deliver positive outcomes and an effective and consistent voice.

About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff.

As a Helpline Adviser you will be: -

• Able to respond to victims of and those affected by crime by providing emotional support, information and referral on to Victim Support services and other agencies
• Providing immediate support, advice and trauma first aid referrals to victims of and those affected by major incidents and terrorism.
• Seamlessly working across multiple services with different processes, procedures and recording mechanisms.
• Managing and responding appropriately to competing priorities, services and needs.
• Responsible for taking disclosures and responding appropriately by either escalating the safeguarding concern to the 'Designated Safeguarding Officer' or to respond immediately to life threatening situations.

You will need:

• Experience of working in challenging and changing environments with the emphasis on excellence in service delivery.
• Experience of organising and prioritising a complex workload.
• The ability to deal sensitively with challenging and emotionally charged situations, demonstrate empathy and control own emotions.
• The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, including telephone skills
• Knowledge and understanding of:
• Relevant agencies and resources
• Importance of confidentiality and safe working practice

As a Grants Officer at JRCT, you will be responsible for supporting the management, administration and development of the Peace and Security Programme.

The role can be undertaken remotely, or based at our York office. The role is for 35 hours a week and we are open to flexible working patterns, including job share arrangements.  We try to schedule meetings to accommodate caring responsibilities. Someone working remotely would be required to come to the York office for at least three days per month.

The candidate will help deliver advocacy and horizon scanning and will be expected to represent credibly the Santa Marta Group to senior audiences. They will also provide support for major initiatives and events, working with the rest of the team to ensure that Santa Marta remains on track with its strategic aims.
