Main Areas of Responsibility
You will play a key role in the delivery of the approved Internal Audit plan and related risk and assurance activities in accordance with recognised professional standards. This will include being responsible for completion of the end-to-end audit process for a portfolio of assigned reviews.
Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Being accountable for the delivery of a portfolio of audits to time and budget whilst managing conflicting priorities.
- Planning, undertaking and reporting on audits across the Federation’s Head Office and 55 academies.
- Identifying, assessing and reporting on the risks arising from areas under review.
- To complete follow up exercises on previously agreed recommendations.
- Providing assistance to the Internal Audit Manager in, or leading on, ad hoc audit work, projects and investigations.
- Deputising for the Internal Audit Manager, including at Audit and Risk Committee as required.
- To contribute to the annual planning cycle.
- To produce statistical data for inclusion in termly and annual reports.
- To seek and build professional relationships with key stakeholders across the Federation including at academy sites.
- To contribute to service improvement and the development of the Internal Audit function.
This role will require to Federation sites, currently located across London and Essex, as required to fulfil the job description.
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Sound knowledge of Internal Audit professional Standards and the role of Internal Audit
- A recognised Internal Audit qualification or considerable transferable experience and a willingness to obtain such a qualification
- Current membership of a relevant professional body
- Significant experience of working within Internal Audit
- The ability to complete the end-to-end Internal Audit process with minimal supervision
- A proven track history of maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders

About the role.
The Director of Development and Head of Foundation will execute and evolve a recently developed strategy for a significant ramp-up in the fundraising activity of Wells Cathedral School Foundation, initially focused on funding bursaries and small-scale estate developments. They will also ensure the effective work of the School’s supporting bodies and lead on building good relations with alumni and delivering a legacy programme.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Implement our strategy for fundraising consistent with best practice and the objectives of the Foundation.
- To promote and develop the Foundation as the central charity in the School’s fundraising operation.
- Undertake direct fundraising, either individually or in conjunction with the Head Master and Foundation Trustees.
- Find innovative ways of engaging alumni and other friends of the School in Foundation and fundraising activities, including liaising with the Chair of the Old Wellensian (OW) Association for the planning and overseeing the organisation of appropriate alumni events and communications plans.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and other members of the wider WCS community, both nationally and internationally. This includes OWs, Wells Cathedral Chorister Trust (WCCT), Friends of Music and Wells Cathedral Choir Association (WCCA).
- Oversee the maintenance and development of the Toucan Tech CRM and community website. Grow and maintain a database of all volunteers, donors and donor prospects that supports the engagement and fundraising strategy.
- Cultivate and continue to grow a portfolio of potential major donor prospects and deliver significant gifts from individuals, organisations and businesses.
- Strengthen existing donor networks and develop further networks.
- Recruit and organise fundraising volunteers of alumni, parents, former parents and other friends and supporters of the School.
- Ensure the Wells Cathedral School Foundation meets its budgets and targets as appropriate.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The People and Culture Advisor will be instrumental in delivering efficient, timely and effective HR support and advice to employees, managers and leadership throughout the company. The role will be crucial in ensuring consistent and effective application of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives, thus having a positive contribution to a productive workplace.
General People & Culture Support:
· Acting as the primary point of contact for all IEU staff enquiries regarding policies, procedures, staff benefit, leave balances, and other general queries.
· Supporting implementation of key P&C projects and facilitating ongoing process improvements.
· Support employee engagement initiatives, including recurring surveys and engagement sessions.

Employee Relations

· Managing casework including, but not limited to: disciplinaries, grievances, absence reviews, flexible working requests, conflict resolution, redundancies, departmental changes, occupational health queries, performance improvement plans, etc.
· Producing and maintaining casework documentation, including Terms of Reference, minutes, notices, and follow-up correspondence.
· Escalating complex and/or unusual casework to People & Culture Manager.
· Providing coaching for managers on employee relations issues as requested.
· Ensuring all company policies remain up to date, periodically reviewing policies in order to implement relevant changes.

· Conducting exit interviews, identifying patterns and communicating to management in an aggregate form
· Producing periodic reports surrounding volume and nature of casework.
Payroll
· Processing timely updates of the payroll system records, including new joiners, leavers, student loan and salary sacrifice information and all variable changes.
· Ensuring all associated processes have been carried out in line with the supplier agreement and in good time.
· Serving as a liaison between the third-party payroll provider, P&C and Finance functions
· Producing all payroll related documentation including LoE changes, pay increases, maternity leave letters, deduction letters and other change letters as required.
· Generating a monthly pension report and timely uploading to the pension provider portal.
· Addressing all employee payroll and pay related enquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS

The Role
The Society is looking to appoint a new Coordinator to support the access and progression of historically under-represented students in geography. This will involve building on existing Society initiatives and actively engaging with initiatives and networks across the sector. The postholder will work with senior colleagues to shape the Society’s future investments and work in this realm. The Coordinator will work across the ‘pipeline’ of geographers from schools, through post-16 pathways, universities, and into professional practice. This will involve work with students, teachers, academics and geography professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to take forward the Society’s work in this area, which most recently has included the Geography for All project. The role is ideally suited to someone with relevant lived experience, who has the expertise and commitment to make a difference, and who can work effectively with external stakeholders to ensure opportunities are made available to all. To help us achieve our mission, we are recruiting qualified social workers with direct experience of working with children and families, and knowledge and experience of supporting social work students. We are looking for candidates who can contribute to the delivery of teaching across the year, support participants in their local authority hubs and supervise participants during the 2nd year of the programme.
Practice Tutors (PTs) work closely as a peer group to share effective ways of working across participant practice hubs, local authorities and regions. They play a key role within the development and delivery of our social work curriculum, contributing knowledge and expertise to create a culture that promotes outstanding social work education and enables teams to do their best work.
PTs are responsible for teaching and developing participants at the Readiness to Practice stage, regional teaching days and, in participant hubs within local authorities. PTs support four practice hubs, based within statutory children’s social care services. Each practice hub is led by a Consultant Social Worker (CSW). Core to the Practice Tutor role is the ability to provide support, challenge and guidance to participants and CSWs to ensure a high-quality practice learning experience.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Use social work knowledge, theory, practice skill and experience to develop and support participants to become outstanding social workers
- Support CSWs to lead the hubs, role model best social work practice and support effective practice educators
- Teaching for year one participants is during the Readiness for Practice stage both in person and online, attend face to face regional recall days and whole cohort online teaching.. There is also online teaching for our year 2 participants on the programme through large lectures, small seminars and one to one support as necessary
A little bit about you
We are looking for a registered social worker with experience in teaching and learning, and an intellectual curiosity to challenge and develop their own ideas by keeping up to date with current research and evidence. The role will suit someone who is passionate about the development of social work practice, innovation and leadership who has a thought-through vision of what excellent social work looks like.
We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. Based over three sites in Stratford, Southwark and Holborn we are now in search of an Estates and Facilities Manager to consolidate our working practices, establish efficient and cost-effective routines and relationships, develop our sustainability practices and take us even further on our journey of growth.
This role leads estates and facilities management across the organisation. A diverse and hands-on role, you will be highly organised, knowledgeable in estates management practices, including relevant legislation, health and safety and carrying out risk assessments. You will be a great communicator, developing relationships with external contractors and our own internal teams. You will manage a small team of one, and liaise closely with colleagues who have responsibility for the day to day operational uses of our sites, and who want to provide the very best experience to their client users. This is a critical role for the charity: you will embrace ownership, work with initiative and spot opportunities for improving all aspects of our estates and facilities management!

Purpose of the Apprenticeship and Skills Pathway Manager role:
We are looking to recruit an Apprenticeship and Skills Pathways Manager as part of our HR and Volunteering team, to support the delivery of the Museum’s Skills Pathways Programme (apprenticeships, work experience and insight experiences) which provides opportunities and career pathways for young people and under-represented groups. This is a new and exciting opportunity that is a key part of our Inspiring People Strategy.
Key responsibilities of our Apprenticeship and Skills Pathway Manager include:
- Leading the Museum-wide apprenticeship programme and be an internal advocate for apprentices, sharing knowledge about best practice guidance and ensuring that policies and practice reflect up to date guidance.
- Ensuring that the Museum is able to attract a diverse range of high quality apprenticeship candidates and meets our statutory obligations with regard to apprentices.
- Planning and projecting manage the delivery of apprenticeship schemes, ensuring this meets the strategic direction set by the Museum and ensure that it is delivered on time and within budget.
- Deleading the Museum wide work experience programme to include long-termwork experience opportunities alongside shorter insight experiences (e.g. partnering with local schools)
- Ensuring that the Museum is able to attract a diverse range of work experience students across all organisational disciples.
- Working with line managers to identify new work experience opportunities that offer high quality experience for students.
What we are looking for in our Apprenticeship and Skills Pathway Manager:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a learning and development environment
- Knowledge of designing or managing professional learning and/or talent development programmes.
- Articulates the Museum’s purpose and objectives and supports the team to see their role within it.
- Actively shares experience and knowledge with team and, where appropriate, the wider Museum to develop understanding and knowledge.
- Confidently engages with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally
- Motivates and provides confidence to team members, allowing them to utilise their skills and knowledge and act with relevant level of autonomy

This role will deliver tailored, one to one support and case work to support and resolve both immediate, crisis situations experienced by people and on a longer-term basis in the community. In the main people we support are Irish or of Irish descent including the Traveller Community. However, our services are open to all.
Additionally, part of the role will include working across the project team and wider role of ICCM in early intervention and prevention. Informing and supporting community-based advocacy, awareness, and public campaigns to inform and increase knowledge and education of the community on how to access help, and the availability of support which is open to people as needs develop. Thus, increasing the wider public and social value of ICCM and brining more service users in to receive one to one support when needed.
This will attract and support our community by making our services local, appropriate, and accessible to those who mainly do not access mainstream services. This will include advocacy and representative services in order for people to secure welfare benefits, enabling people to access the financial benefits they are entitled to.
This will support people experiencing mental and physical health issues, substance misuse, facing legal issues, those who require debt management, threatened with eviction, domestic abuse, and bereavement. This will be done mainly on an outreach basis across Manchester, supporting people in their own homes, in care homes, hospital and where they are resettled to their home environment.
The overall aim of the service is to improve quality of life, access to appropriate support services and improved health and wellbeing outcomes by acting as an advocate and to negotiate with other agencies, where necessary, on our client’s behalf.
Key Responsibilities:
- To make contact with members of the Irish and Traveller communities across Manchester.
- To provide Advocacy and Support via outreach, accompanying to appointments, advocacy to other agencies to address presenting needs who are vulnerable and ‘at risk’ through age, poor physical or mental health, homelessness, risk of homelessness, drug and alcohol use, offending, abuse, and social and cultural isolation.
- Undertake an initial assessment of service users’ needs, presenting issues and risks and to develop a care plan working alongside other statutory and voluntary agencies.
- To offer comprehensive information, advocacy, advice and support services to our community to meet individual needs and achieve positive outcomes.
- Make referrals to statutory and community and voluntary organisations working in partnership to achieve the best level of care and support.
- Develop care plans in order to improve the health of our communities, working with service users and relevant agencies
- To attend and participate in meetings and forums highlighting community issues, cultural needs and experiences.
- To support volunteers and students at ICCM. Volunteers will also support service users to meet presenting needs as highlighted in the assessment and care plan.
- To maintain accurate and up to date records of all areas of work.
- To closely monitor progress of work and report this to your line manager.
- To present accurate and clear reports on all cases as requested by the Advocacy & Advice Manager.
- Attend appropriate networking and training opportunities for personal and professional development.
- To attend and participate in team meetings.
- To participate and engage in supervision and appraisal provided by your line manager.
- To attend conferences and seminars locally, regionally and nationally as directed by line manager.
- To promote the work of ICCM as requested by your line manager.
