A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Award Winning fundraising team, to join us as a Face to Face Fundraiser. At Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, we believe there’s always more we can do for our sick kids and women. It’s our mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use our hospitals and to make our hospital feel just like home.
We’re looking for an ambitious, experienced, target driven Face to Face fundraiser to join our fast-paced team. You will have strong experience in communicating and building relationships in a face to face capacity, as well as empathising, motivating and persuading members of the public to support our charity.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have previous experience in a sales or fundraising acquisition role
- Be self-motivated, independent, and target-driven
- Possess a natural confidence in talking to people and encouraging their support, as well as strong personal resilience and experience in objection handling
- Be able to work on their own for significant periods of time, as well as acting as an effective and engaged team-player.
- Have excellent communication skills - be friendly, approachable and engaging, as well as possess strong persuasive and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate and respond sensitively to information provided by members of the Public.
- Have responsibility for ensuring all acquisition activities comply in full with Data Protection (GDPR) legislation and the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice.
- Be a driver with a full clean driving license, and own a car preferable

About the role
As the Social Media & Marketing Executive, you'll play a key role in helping us deliver our Communications Strategy. You'll increase our online profile, manage our social media presence, expand our audience, increase engagement and support our growth. You’ll create eye-catching and impactful content for distribution across a range of channels and platforms, and to a range of audiences. With a keen eye for design, and as the champion of our brand, you’ll ensure our communications are always spot-on. - Lead the implementation of a performance management system that promotes transparency, accountability, and professional growth, tailored to the global context

- Align the performance appraisal process with IRRI’s strategic objectives, ensuring that performance evaluations are conducted consistently and fairly across all locations. Foster a culture of accountability and professional growth, using performance data to drive talent development and organizational improvement
- Lead continuous improvement efforts for HR systems and processes. Identify opportunities to streamline HR operations, reduce manual transactions, and enhance the efficiency of HR services. Implement technological solutions that provide real-time data and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in HR leadership, preferably in an international or research-oriented organization
Skills Required
Mandatory
- Proven ability to develop and execute global HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Strong expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and benefits administration
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing HR teams across diverse geographic and cultural backgrounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Sound understanding of HR best practices, local labor laws, and international HR standards
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of other languages would be beneficial
Preferred
- Having experience of working in Africa will be an added advantage
- Accredited Professional Qualification (CIPD, SHRM, PHR, or equivalent)

This essential role will work closely with the CEO and Managing Director as well as the schools, mentoring and fundraising teams, working collaboratively across the organisation.
This is a new role for The Kids Network, and the successful applicant will be supported in making it a success. The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation is a drug and alcohol education charity, founded by Fiona and Tim Spargo-Mabbs in 2014 in response to the death of their 16-year-old son Dan having taken ecstasy. The charity aims to support young people to make safe choices and reduce harm, through increasing their understanding of the effects and risks of drugs and alcohol, and improving their life skills & resilience. We work with young people, parents, teachers and professionals, in schools, colleges and communities across the UK.
You’ll be responsible for arranging and confirming bookings for Theatre in Education play performances within schools, coordinating DSMF events and working with the existing Bookings Administrator to support our ever-growing delivery of drug education workshops withing schools. A key aspect of your work will be developing effective professional relationships with the theatre companies commissioned to deliver the performances, and with the schools we work with.
