Duties
The role will involve a combination of stewardship and new business, helping us to secure support from more trusts, foundations and businesses who share our passion for transforming the lives of children in the communities with whom we work.
Key duties will be to:
- Prospect and research potential grantmakers and businesses who share our strategic objectives
- Take a relationships-based approach wherever possible, establishing warm relationships between partners and Chance for Childhood
- Provide input to the 2025-2030 fundraising strategy, using your experience and knowledge of the fundraising landscape to help us devise an ambitious but sustainable plan to safeguard our work for the next five years
- Maintain a strong pipeline of funding opportunities
- Draft compelling, creative and persuasive funding proposals
- Secure four, five and six figure grants from trusts and foundations
- Manage a small portfolio of trusts and corporate partners, maintaining an accurate calendar of reporting and stewardship expectations
- Write and submit accurate reports to funders’ deadlines
- Beyond meeting formal reporting requirements, provide outstanding informal stewardship to funders, developing strong relationships and increasing the chances of repeat funding
- Communicate skilfully across borders with our brilliant in-country programmes team to maintain a flow of information, stories and data for fundraising and reporting
- Accurately record communications using our fundraising CRM (Beacon) and enable reporting on expected income
- Work effectively within our small, supportive and mighty fundraising and marketing team to ensure strong dissemination of ideas, and fidelity to our organisational brand in communications
- Stay well informed of existing and new fundraising legislation and adhere to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice as well as relevant fundraising and UK GDPR requirements
Person specification:
A highly organised, detail-oriented self-starter who engenders credibility and trust with stakeholders, you will have good working knowledge of corporate and trusts and foundations fundraising, and very strong written and verbal communication skills.
To be the right fit for this role, you do not need to have a degree. You do not need experience in international development fundraising, although this would be an advantage.

We are looking for a fixed term Impact and Evaluation Manager to help us to develop an initial impact and evaluation framework for the organisation. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, the aim is to be able to understand, evaluate and learn from our impacts and to track our organisational performance through appropriate data and metrics. It will build on an existing set of metrics that have been developed and provide the foundation for a longer term impact evaluation approach.
Role purpose:
Lead the development of an initial impact and evaluation framework that will help us to track our progress, demonstrate achievements and ensure accountability.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

About the Role
As Shop Support Manager, you will provide key operational support on defined areas, working alongside the Shop Manager in Teddington to understand the shop, community, and proposition.
Working closely with the Shop Manager, you'll assist in the delivery of the shop's potential.

About the role
An exciting brand new role in a busy supporter experience team you are responsible for delivering income growth, leading on fundraising campaign delivery including acquisition and retention activities.
Managing a team of two (an officer and an assistant) you will be overseeing the team day to day as, together, you develop creative campaigns working alongside the rest of the fundraising and communications team. Our bank of retention and acquisition work currently includes print appeals, digital campaigns, inserts, press ads, social media and telemarketing acquisition, online lottery, raffle and more! As you direct the marketing team, it is essential you'll be able to use your fundraising knowledge to edit copy and feedback on campaigns based on your experience of how to uplift response. Royal Museums Greenwich is a collection of diverse historical sites. The sites are the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and the Queen’s House. Each of these sites has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise. Working in the Engagement department and reporting to the Adults and Communities Participation Manager, the Communities Participation Producer will create a year-round public programme of activities inspired by the collections, themes and sites of Royal Museums Greenwich. Key responsibilities include producing and delivering programmes in collaboration with community partners and stakeholders to create relevant, inclusive and inspiring activity across the Museum’s multiple sites. The role will focus on creating activity that welcomes underrepresented audiences to Royal Museums Greenwich sites, developing trusted relationships in the process and responding to the social purpose of the organisation.
The role will develop programmes that connect communities and collections around the legacies of empire, queer histories and stories of migration. This will involve working across generations to facilitate dialogue around under-represented histories and current issues in a variety of formats including large scale public festivals, talks, workshops and more. The role will have a focus on developing participation opportunities for African and Caribbean and East and South-East Asian diaspora, as well as LGBTQ+ communities, to develop stronger connections with the collection and bring new perspectives to maritime history. This will involve audience research and internal dialogue to create supportive spaces and activity at Royal Museums Greenwich and contribute towards it becoming a more inclusive and representative organisation.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of delivering a range of inclusive cultural engagement provision for diverse audiences, including large-scale public events, and creating audience-led programmes for African and Caribbean/ East Asian/ South-East Asian diaspora communities. The postholder will have a track record of building strong partnerships with communities and stakeholders, along with experience of writing and producing resources and promotional materials for a range of target audiences. Key Responsibilities
