ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the team, working 28 hours per week.

Young lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We currently use a hybrid working model. This role falls under the hybrid - variable category. This role is part home, part site based (your contractual base will be both Home and Addenbrooke’s Hospital). You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.

The office-based working will be at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, to provide support to children and young people (0-24 years, with a focus on over 13’s) diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia, and their families.

This role is subject to a criminal record check. In the event of a successful application an enhanced criminal record check will be completed. This role is also subject to a Social Worker Registration.

WHAT DO I NEED? 

Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will work closely with our supportive Young Lives vs Cancer team, an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and with services in the community.

You will have:

• Current Social Work England Registration
• Experience of working with children, young people and their families/carers in a social care setting.
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

• An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and families.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for incoming resident referrals. You will meet with the resident, understand their needs and what matters to them to develop a personalised action plan to provide relevant support.

• Provide ongoing support to the resident for approximately four sessions, which could vary from follow-up phone calls or attending appointments with the resident, centred around what is best for the resident.

The hub services for the RAA include the recruitment, assessment and support of Coram approved adopters, which are located at the Coram Campus in London.

The post holder will be employed by Coram, a service with a long track record of serving children well and outstanding ratings from Ofsted. The task for the Regional Adoption Agency is to ensure that all children who have a plan for adoption are given every chance to have that ambition realised and when placed in a permanent family receive the relevant support as their needs change and develop.

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Family Finding Social Worker or Senior Practitioner wishing to play an active role in the delivery and development of a high quality family finding service for the London Borough of Redbridge, for children with a plan for adoption.

The post holder will have lead responsible professional for family finding, but will also assist the team with providing a statutory post adoption service [assessments for post adoption support and applications to the Adoption Support Fund] for families living within the local area.

The post holder will be part of a small and very supportive team to develop practise and skills in this area. The post holder will also be able to have access resources and services within Hillingdon to support this role and be part of a bigger network of support from colleagues from across the RAA. This role will function as a job share to offer continuity to the children we are family finding for.

We are recruiting sessional assessing social workers to undertake Form F assessments across Wales. We particularly welcome applications from Welsh speaking applicants. This is a hybrid working role and you will assess prospective foster carers using a combination of video calling and face-to-face visits where you’ll get to know the applicants better and undertake health & safety assessments. 

Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:

• To undertake and complete Form F assessments in the timescale set out in our policy and guidance.
• To visit personal referees as identified on application form for prospective foster carers (virtual visits or in person where required).
• To ensure that all checks and references are undertaken and completed.
• To provide to the supervisor, regular written updates of the draft assessment.
• To liaise with our administrative team concerning the progress of administrative checks and completion of the Form F.
• To be available for supervision, consultation or liaison as required.
• To be available to present completed Form Fs to the virtual fostering panel and provide support to the applicants through this process.
• To be aware of our child protection procedures and immediately report any child protection matter or concerns to a TACT manager and any relevant placing authority and the area authority.
• To carry out the duties in line with our Foster Carer and Supervising Social Worker Standards and Practice Guidance.

Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors

• We will pay £2000  (inclusive of VAT) upon successful completion of a Form F Assessment.
• £33 per hour for assessments which are not completed, and any other piece of work.

You will be DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualified and registered with the relevant regulatory body ( Social Care Wales).

Our adult adoption support service works primarily with adopted adults and birth families. Adopted adults can access their adoption records and birth families are supported at the time of losing children to adoption, helped to stay in touch through letterbox and provided with independent emotional support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Recovery Worker to join our women's only refuge in Hove. The service supports 18 women with a trauma informed approach using a psychologically informed environment model to provide high quality, person centred support to all our residents. 

You will support with a range of frontline care and support activities within the service, in a varied role. You will work towards supporting residents/participants to achieve their desired goals/outcomes, and will ensure all residents/participants understand and have the right tools and resources for positive outcomes. You will also develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running of activities, projects and events. There will be a focus on risk assessments and management, as well as housing and property management.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rota. This may include shifts between Monday to Friday 10:00 - 18:00, 08:00 - 16:00 and 14:30 - 22:00. You will be based on site.
