The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

Key responsibilities:  

To participate in running the advice line service and responding to enquiries made to CFAB: 

• Offer advice to local authority professionals, NGOs and individuals on international child protection issues and casework 

• Advise on CFAB referral procedure and fees

As an Assessment and Reconnection Worker, you will: 

• Be part of a busy team environment working closely with people new to, or at risk of rough sleeping.

The Ealing Early Intervention Service has been commissioned to provide direct and systemic work to address moderate mental health needs.

The Child and Family Specialist will work in partnership with schools, children and families to assess and respond to the psychological needs of children experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties through undertaking assessments and providing interventions. The post-holder will also: provide specialist advice and support to school staff in the identification of mental health needs of children and accessing appropriate resources; and actively contribute to outcome monitoring and service improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a commissioned service delivering direct interventions for young people and their families. The post-holder will offer a range of clinical activities to address mental health needs in children and young people, including direct individual and group work with young people and parents/carers and joint work with other professionals.  The clinical case presentation is mostly moderate risk and requires insight into handling complex clinical cases (e.g. neurodiverse and trauma-inform practice) and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.

The Child and Family Specialist will join a small team of 12 people in a fast-paced working dynamic. The post-holder will be supported through supervision and will deliver consultation, training, and workshops to non-mental health staff.

This is a highly rewarding role for a Senior Team Leader to manage and coordinate the Outreach and Befriending service, which include volunteer face-to-face befriending support in the home and community, and peer phone/virtual support sessions. You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting, across two sites. You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.

You will be expected to work across  the two refuges as part of your role

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

Outside of this, you will have excellent administrative and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

The St Mungo’s Pan London Rough Sleeping Teams (No Second Night Out and Somewhere Safe to Stay) provide a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. We are currently looking for people to join our teams as Night Assessment Workers in our No Second Night Out Assessment Hubs. In these roles you will: 

• Work as part of a busy team environment working closely with those affected by rough sleeping. 

• Provide a safe and supportive environment at night to clients; carrying out assessment when clients first arrive out the service.  

• Work on a 7 day weekly night rota pattern with an average of 3 waking night shifts in a row (for example 8pm–8.30am or 9pm–8am) 

About you 

These crucial roles will suit people with an interest in in developing key skills to build a career working in a support role, as well as:

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or customers in a busy service environment. 

• Good communication skills and the ability to work with others effectively to get things done.

• Some understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.

• You don’t need to have direct experience, above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

This is an exciting new role and part of planned significant investment into a longstanding and prestigious community based youth organisation. The successful candidate will coordinate youth work over multiple locations and will have the opportunity to develop a range of programmes and interventions. As a Lead Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive and engaging environment for young people. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our youth clubs and projects, implementing a range of programmes and activities that promote personal development, social interaction and positive youth engagement. Your commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and providing mentorship to young individuals will be critical to the success of this role.

The Harrow Club is a community-based youth organisation offering innovative, accessible and high-quality opportunities, enabling young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to maximise their life chances. This year we are 140 years’ old, and we are committed to building on decades of service in the local community to address some of the most pressing issues affecting young people today. 

Harrow Club is a place for firsts.  A first trip to the beach, a night-time walk in the woods, an overnight stay without parents and, for some, the first place where a child really feels at home and that they have a home.  Firsts are especially important, they are part of a child’s development but also, they build an outlook on life and shape pathways that will go on to determine futures as well as offer a chance to form new interests and friendships.

We are also a place of second chances.  We support children who struggle to stay in the classroom and to continue in their education. We work with young people who are excluded from regular youth clubs/sports clubs, so that they can have the chance to change.  We allow young people to make mistakes, learn and move forward.

There is no better testament to what Harrow Club can achieve than some of our current youth workers who have turned their lives around and are now working to keep young people away from criminality and harm.  They can show, with immediacy and authenticity, that there can be Another Way, to live life.

We are also a ‘third place’, a safe and nurturing space, for all children and young people; for some their home or school is neither safe or happy and we can make a vital difference in providing a ‘positive escape’ and vital help and support.

We operate from five locations, providing an incredible range of projects covering sports, arts and performing arts, media, music, digital and our specialist gang’s project, motor vehicle workshops and educational programmes aimed at reducing school exclusions. We engage around two hundred young people each week, aged 8-24, and around 500 unique each year.  For many, the effect is life changing.

•Salary: £33,000-£37,000 dependent on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Management:

- Develop and implement a diverse range of programmes and activities that cater to the interests, needs, and developmental stages of young people.

- Coordinate and oversee the scheduling, logistics and evaluation of programs and activities.

- Collaborate with other youth workers and volunteers to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes and activities.

2. Youth Engagement and Support:

- Establish positive relationships with young people and create a safe and inclusive atmosphere where they feel valued and supported.

- Provide guidance, mentorship, and advocacy for young individuals, helping them navigate challenges and make positive life choices.

- Conduct one-on-one sessions and group discussions to address individual and group concerns or issues.

3. Leadership and Supervision:

- Lead a team of youth workers and volunteers, providing direction, support and regular feedback.

- Plan and facilitate regular team meetings, trainings and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers.

- Foster a collaborative and respectful team culture, encouraging open communication and a shared vision for youth development.

4. Community Engagement:

- Build partnerships and maintain positive relationships with local organizations, schools and community stakeholders to enhance the resources available to young people.

- Collaborate with community members to organize events, workshops and initiatives that promote youth participation and community cohesion.

- Represent the youth club at community meetings, conferences and events to advocate for youth-related issues and promote the club's mission.

5. Administration and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of attendance, programme participation, and individual progress.

- Prepare regular reports, statistics, and evaluations to measure the impact and effectiveness of youth programmes and activities.

- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations governing youth clubs and child protection.

Person Specification - Qualifications and Skills

-JNC Professionally qualified Youth Worker with Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., social work, youth development, education) or equivalent practical experience.

-Proven experience working with young people in a youth club, community centre or similar setting.

-Strong understanding of youth development principles and best practices.

-Excellent communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.

-Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.

-Ability to adapt to diverse needs and engage with young individuals from various backgrounds.

-Knowledge of relevant legislation and child protection guidelines.

-Proficiency in administrative tasks, including record-keeping and report writing.

-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and occasional irregular hours.

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse.  We are also committed to diversity and strongly encourage applications from those with Black and/or Minoritised backgrounds.

Our Specialist Advocates support families impacted by fatal domestic abuse through provision of lay advocacy for and on behalf of families with a range of statutory service providers (e.g. those conducting reviews and inquiries, social services, police, housing) and work to build good relations between all parties.  To ensure that families get the support they need, you will use AAFDA’s Home Office endorsed seven-step approach to working with individuals and families, to ensure that they receive the best possible support and advocacy to restore dignity and relief for families and to help them cope and recover. Through trauma-informed approaches, you will:

• listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight;
• provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide Reviews, Mental Health Reviews, Inquests, Independent Office of Police Conduct inquiries and other types of Inquiries;
• manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities;
• give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf;
• Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

This role is offered on a full-time basis.
