Your role

In this part-time, home-based role, as our new information officer, you’ll be providing vital information and support to families with disabled children in Wales, helping them adapt and recover from the Cost-of-Living Crisis and Pandemic as part of our new Building Resilience Project, across different regions of Wales.

What we’re looking for

• Knowledge and experience in working with and supporting families with disabled children in Wales.
• Good knowledge and experience in information work – specific to Wales
• Experience researching information and collaborating on producing newsletters, e-bulletins, website pages, publications
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, along with digital skills.
• Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, and respite care.
• Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team

People Support Team Lead - UK

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime, 35 hours per week

About the Role:
Team Leadership

• Manage coach and build capabilities of the People Operations Team, their performance and development in line with our values and people promise.

Payroll, Pension and Reward

• Accountable for the delivery of the UK monthly payroll and pension processes, providing oversight and support to the work of the in-house Payroll Officer and being a back-up to their role, to ensure payroll is run accurately each month.
• Implement the annual pay award operationally ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payment to all UK based staff.
• Implementation of a new payroll system for the UK.

Systems and Reporting

• Responsible for maintaining and using our HR Information System, PeoplePlace effectively and efficiently, partner with the Global Systems Administrator so that all UK based employee data is correct and in compliance with data protection.
• Drive the importance of data and people analytics and create a culture of data-based decision making and insight across the team.
• Joint ownership of UK headcount establishment data with key stakeholder in Finance.
• Annual analysis and statutory reporting of the Pay Gap in the UK.
• Annual reporting of our data to external charity sector Pay Club and other bodies that we seek guidance on as part of our annual pay award assessment.
• Develop, implement, and maintain people KPI's, reporting and management information requirements to inform organisational performance and better decision making.

Compliance and Contract Management

• Act as the UK Team specialist on areas of HR compliance, working with third parties and specialist advisors, to ensure that our policies, processes and practice are compliant and meet legal requirements.
• Responsible for GDPR in the People Team, provide senior expertise and build capability across the wider people function.
• Manage the relationship and contracts with third party providers and suppliers for all UK based initiatives such as, but not limited to, our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), Benefits Provider to ensure an effective, value for money service that meet our our business needs at all times.

Other

• Ownership of salary calculations in the event of employee termination.
• Budget management and invoice approval.
• Custodian of the maintenance of the UK operational delivery folders and their content.

About the Role:
Functional skills

• Proven experience of leading, managing and developing a high performing people operations team in a matrix, fast paced organisation.
• Proven experience of managing and running in-house payroll for 250 staff or more.
• Excellent understanding of HR policy development; and proven experience of developing and embedding HR policies, processes and procedures that are fit for purpose.
• A qualified and robust HR Practitioner who has sound and up to date knowledge of employment law, tax and legislative requirements affecting a wide spectrum of HR policies and practice, i.e. payroll, pension, reward and benefits together with their application in the context of the employee experience.
• Working knowledge and experience of HR and Payroll systems, to maximise the functionality and create efficiencies.
• Demonstrate project management capability.
• Proven experience of contract management and managing a wide range of third-party service providers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage, collaborate and build working relationships and partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders (across the hierarchy up to senior management levels and across different cultures & backgrounds).

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from July 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

Remote working with regular travel to the West Midlands and London as required

Why join the UK Sepsis Trust (UKST)? Because there’s an exciting opportunity to work for a significant cause and help build its sustainable future. We’re building our new fundraising team and this temporary role will play an important part in accelerating our ambitious plans to increase annual income during 2024/25.

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

7. Assist in prioritising & managing enquiries about our Community Fundraising Programme via our dedicated inboxes.

8. Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and our Communications and Marketing Team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for UKST’s community fundraising activities.

 

Day to day activities will include:

1. Managing an inbox and replying to enquiries in a timely and professional manner

1. Problem solving for fundraisers – finding the optimum way they can achieve their goals

2. Support the Event Team Lead with sending out merchandise

2. Download Giving reports and send thank yous to donors and fundraisers

3. Record Supporter details on CRM

4. Cover for holiday periods and manage an inbox in their absence

 

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

1. Experience of working in fundraising in a UK registered charity

Digital Fundraising Lead

Comic Relief is looking for a Digital Fundraising Lead to assume responsibility as the driving force behind our fundraising and engagement strategies. The Digital Fundraising/Marketing Lead is responsible for overseeing the Fundraising and Engagement strategies, planning and performance of our digital marketing channels, to deliver ambitious organisational objectives and fundraising growth targets. Key responsibilities:

· Lead the strategy setting and annual planning and budget setting for Comic Relief’s Digital Marketing & Fundraising, including building financial models, developing business cases, monitoring budgets and updating forecasts

· Play a lead role in working with stakeholders across the organisation to unify separate digital marketing activity (owned and earned) to ensure all Comic Relief efforts are working together to maximise effectiveness and efficiency

 Overall purpose of the role

•  Lead the production for the monthly management accounts
• Lead on the preparation of the annual reports and financial statements
• Manage the financial activities for both Royal Trinity Hospice and Trinity Hospice Shops Limited
• Be the super user (System Administrator) for the financial software and continuously improve/develop use of the systems and processes to support the financial activities of the Hospice
• Support the Director of Finance & Resources in other areas of work including risk management, Information Governance as well as deputise in their absence

Job Description – Operations Manager
IcFEM Dreamland Mission is a Christian charity set up to help fund and support the work of IcFEM in
Kenya. We had been running for almost 20 years with volunteers
running a home-based UK office. Three years ago we employed staff in the UK for the first time. We
currently have income of £350k- £400k a year depending on the projects running. IcFEM Kenya is a
locally run organisation based at Kimilili in Western Kenya. IcFEM Kenya runs community projects as
well as a school and hospital. The past five years has seen our work grow significantly, including the
school and hospital which have developed into large institutions that are valued by the community
in Kimilili and fit well into the local government set up.
We are looking for an individual who is ambitious to see our ministry grow and is experienced at
blending trust in God with human endeavour.
We are seeking an Operations Manager who has experience of the charity sector and is prepared to
be flexible and adaptable to the needs of this small charity. There is the potential for flexibility within
this role and we would be willing to discuss a variation in hours worked. Some occasional evening or
weekend work will be needed, and occasional travel to Kenya is an important part of the role,
particularly to build relationships with the Kenyan team.

Job description

Governance and legal compliance
➢ Review and keep updated UK policy and procedure documentation, writing new policies

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is actively recruiting for the position of ‘Community Fundraising Officer – London & South’ to be based from its Whitechapel Office, London. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.

The purpose of the role is to support the Regional Community Fundraising Manager in fulfilling the organisational objectives of developing and optimising on community fundraising and volunteer initiatives.

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience in establishing and developing relationships with key stakeholders
• Experience in project coordination i.e. events and campaigns 
• Experience of organising and supervising events
• Experience of recruiting, managing and developing volunteers
• Experience in motivating and managing volunteers
• Experience in professional fundraising  
• Full UK Driving license 
• Knowledge and understanding of the local region and community
• To prioritise and work well under the pressure of a busy environment 
• To take a collaborate approach with a strong sense of teamwork and willingness to work with colleagues cross organisationally in support of wider objectives
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as well as build relationships with people of all backgrounds, levels and settings
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong motivation and empathy towards the aims and objectives of the organisation
• Proven ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines, prioritising a variety of important and urgent, but diverse tasks
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with high standards of computer literacy including MS office packages. 
• Numerical skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure and pay attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc.
• Ability to represent Islamic Relief in a wide range of situations
• Good understanding of international development and humanitarian work
• Good understanding of the Fundraising sector, standards, practises and frameworks.

The Access & Participation Project Coordinator is a brand new, exciting role designed to support LSESU’s work around access and participation.
 

The successful candidate will play a lead role in identifying areas where there is a need/opportunity for targeted interventions to support the experiences of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, before putting then translating these into evidence-based proposals.
 

The Access & Participation Project Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing and delivering these programmes, as well as for reporting back on them and proactively seeking ways of driving continuous improvement.
 

The role will also oversee the delivery of the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Mentoring Scheme. This landmark programme, that was last year nominated at the National Diversity Awards, pairs students from ethnic minority backgrounds with LSE alumni, who provide the former with mentoring and support during their studies.
 

The successful person will be responsible for reviewing the programme and seeking to build upon its fledgling success to ensure it is bigger, better and more impactful than ever.
 

This role will also involve close working with stakeholders at LSE, especially those working on the delivery of LSE’s Access & Participation Plan (APP).
 

You would be joining a fantastic and friendly Advice Team, consisting of the Advice Caseworker and Advice Manager, that sits within the wider Student Voice Department, and which together oversees all of the Union’s advice, policy, democratic, campaigning and representation work.
 

Given the breadth of work undertaken within the department, expect there to be plenty of opportunities to grow, develop and pick up new skills outside of the main responsibilities of the role.

The role will require finding opportunities for supporting disadvantaged student groups and then designing, implementing and delivering projects and activities. As a result, we are looking for someone who is highly organised, confident, self-sufficient, and able to deliver at pace, managing multiple competing priorities with enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ attitude.
 

Project management, stakeholder management and communication skills (both verbal and written) are considered essential, as is the ability to undertake research, policy, and monitoring & evaluation work.
 

However, we believe that what you do is just as important as how you do it. We are a hardworking but friendly and welcoming team, and so are looking for someone a genuine team-player. You will be a kind, positive and supportive individual who looks out for their colleagues and isn’t afraid to muck in to help those in need.
