We bring together people with cardiomyopathy, their loved ones, medical experts, researchers, professional staff and other stakeholders to ensures we have the insight, lived experience, clinical knowledge and skills we need to make a real and lasting difference to people's lives.

Since our establishment over thirty years ago, we work to provide support and information so that nobody faces cardiomyopathy alone. We fight for better access to treatment so more people get the help they need, we shape research so that it truly addresses the needs of our community, and we raise awareness so more people seek help sooner and fewer people are at risk.

As a growing charity, we now need a Head of Communications to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead our communications and marketing function so that we can improve our ability to:

• Bring more people into our community as service users, supporters and volunteers so that anyone affected by cardiomyopathy knows how we can help and we can continue to extend our work
   
• Ensure that our advocacy messages are articulated clearly and persuasively to all stakeholders so more people can get the care and treatment that they need
   
• Increase awareness of cardiomyopathy across all communities so that fewer people are at risk of sudden death

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and driven person with experience in the animal welfare sector to join Raystede.  We are the animal welfare charity for Sussex.  This role is pivotal within our multi-species and complex charity, especially as we are about to put our new strategy into action.  Raystede offers good support and development to managers and staff.

You will report to the CEO and work as part of our Senior Management Team to ensure we achieve our strategic aims.  You will be responsible for all aspects of animal care, veterinary services, rehoming & surrender, our animal welfare standards and the development of new facilities for animals at Raystede.  You will have a great (amazing) team and therefore you need to be a great manager, and be seen as credible from the start, a go-to person and ensure that Raystede is effectively resourced and directed to achieve its aims in regard to animals.

Purpose of Role

As a Senior PR Officer, you will play an important role in planning and delivering creative national and regional PR strategies to promote fundraising and partnership activities for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2025 campaign, that inspire people to get involved and demonstrate the life changing work donations make possible. 

You will work across a broad and exciting range of projects that creatively combine the worlds of entertainment and charity whilst driving income, awareness, and brand consideration at a time when the charity gets set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025.

You will need to have a thorough understanding of the UK media landscape, feel confident in approaching journalists with new ideas and have proven success in generating quality print, online and broadcast coverage at both a regional and national level. 

Running Comic Relief’s busy Press Office alongside PR campaigns is a responsibility shared by all team members. You will be required to take an active role in managing media enquiries in a timely and accurate manner, media monitoring and evaluation, and join the on-call rota for out-of-hours and weekend support. 

This role may require occasional UK wide travel to manage media opportunities. 

Key responsibilities:

Develop and deliver creative, national and regional PR strategies that feed into the charity’s strategic objectives by promoting fundraising activities for Red Nose Day 2025 and raising awareness of the positive impact donations have in the UK and around the world

Draft press releases, statements, briefing documents, quotes, and other media materials as required, ensuring editorial excellence and high-quality output

Take an active role in the day-to-day running of the Press Office - this includes responding to media enquiries, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish, working with teams across the organisation to draft responses, contributing to the morning press update, and producing coverage reports using our media monitoring platform

Join the on-call rota alongside other members of the team for out-of-hours and weekend cover

Monitor the press regularly to identify appropriate opportunities and potential threats to the promotion of the work of Comic Relief. Work to protect and enhance Comic Relief’s reputation and work closely with internal and external stakeholders if issues arise. Draft lines against enquiry and press statements, working with colleagues across the organisation to gather relevant info and ensure sign off

Conduct research and develop compelling fundraising proposals for trusts, foundations, corporations, and individuals. Assist in creating and distributing engaging fundraising materials, including appeal letters, newsletters, and social media content, to captivate donors and promote our fundraising initiatives.

Donor Management:

Assist in maintaining donor records, including contact information, donation history, and communication preferences, using a CRM database.

Donation Processing:

Process donations, issue acknowledgment letters, and ensure accurate recording of donations in the database.

Fundraising Campaign Support:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, including mailings, online fundraising initiatives, and donor appreciation events.

Grant Administration:

Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, reports, and other grant-related materials, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.

Reporting:

Administrative Support:

Collaboration:

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Fundraising & Engagement Team.

Acting as the first point of contact for all Fundraising & Comms enquiries and in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communications Strategy, this is a busy role and will require excellent stewardship and donor care skills as well as meticulous organisation and innovative thinking. As an Ambassador for Mind BLMK, you will need to have a passion for mental health and an ability to operate at all levels.

The successful applicant will generate income and support all aspects of communication and marketing, to help to maximise local support, raise awareness of our work in the community, and by providing exceptional supporter stewardship, in line with Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Communication strategy.

Key Duties

• Engage and support stewardship and donor care for Mind BLMK’s individual givers, corporates, groups, volunteers and other supporters of the charity, in line with the fundraising strategy.
• Send and engage with donors, appropriate information and materials to support their fundraising at Mind BLMK.
• Ensure supporter interaction points (telephone, post, email) adhere to the highest standard.

• Support the data capture, monitoring of and reporting on the effectiveness of marketing, PR and publicity activities, making recommendations as required.
• Ensure the quality assurance for the implementation of Mind branding guidelines and specifications across the organisation; reviewing, monitoring, and advising as necessary to ensure corporate identity is maintained in line with Mind BLMK policies and procedures.
• Support the functions of the publication and distribution of press materials, news stories, and updates, both internally and externally.

Worldwide Veterinary Service is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join the team, helping to grow our Young Vets Club membership programme, an animal welfare club aimed at children aged 6 - 12.

This exciting role will involve supporting the Young Vets Club Manager to expand the Young Vets Club programme, including creating content for members, supporting on promotional campaigns, dealing with member queries, attending events, and helping to inspire the next generation of animal lovers and veterinarians.
