Role Requirements

Site wide general housekeeping service – ensure that the housekeeping services is of an acceptable level and is consistent across site.

• Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures in relation to the cleanliness/hygiene standards.
• Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties and ensure procedures are followed should there be an infection control outbreak.
• Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis – carrying out special requests in relation to Housekeeping.
• Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and sufficient stock is maintained – informing the Housekeeping Supervisor of stock requiring ordering.
• Assist in the cleaning of communal areas on a daily basis and cleaning of carpets, curtains and high dusting on a rotating schedule.
• Ensure that any repairs required to fixtures and fittings are reported to the designated Facilities Helpdesk as soon as possible and any issues are reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure any works are to agreed service levels.
• Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist other members of the Site Services and Facilities teams as required.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

• To provide counselling services suitable for women recovering from domestic abuse and violence against women and girls.

• To supervise Counselling Diploma students on placement with SLDAS.

• To ensure the organisation delivers high quality therapeutic services to women from a range of backgrounds, beliefs, and situations, and to support the organisation towards greater inclusion, equality & fairness.

• Commitment to providing talking therapies to women whose first language is not English, primarily through recruitment of multi-lingual trainee and volunteer counsellors.

• To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within the South West.

About the role

The role

Cruse Bereavement Support is the UK’s leading Bereavement charity. We help people through one of the most painful times of their lives through bereavement support, information and campaigning.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Service Delivery Co-ordinator to join our Somewhere For Us Project team.  The aim of the Somewhere For Us project is to ensure that children and young people feel supported on their grief journey.  The project service is co-designed with a Youth Advisory Group.  You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of bereavement supports to children, young people and communities across the Western and Northern Trust Areas and wider NI if required.  The support is provided through Understanding Your Child’s Bereavement online session for parents, group support, 1-1 support and Understanding Your Bereavement online sessions for children and young people.  Awareness sessions are provided to organisations and individuals working with children and young people within the community, for example sports clubs, community groups, schools, churches.  

The Somewhere For Us Project supports bereaved children and young people aged 8 – 25.  It is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund through their Empowering Young People funding stream.

The post is based in our Foyle office, with one day a week in Belfast.  The post is funded until the end of June 2027.

This is a new and exciting role in Refuge, and the post holder will be embedded within borough housing teams to facilitate the dual working that will ensure that survivors’ safety and housing needs are met. The post holder will be based within housing teams for three days a week, to help facilitate.

• Close working relationships with Housing colleagues
• Provision of specialist knowledge relating to DA for Housing Officers and Homelessness Teams to draw on
• Specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis
• Provision of advocacy; supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
• Ongoing support from the IGVA from wider DA service, including access to group clinical supervision, casework management meetings, reflective practice sessions, one-to-one supervision from service manager

This recognises that many survivors will approach Housing at moments of crisis, when they are either considering fleeing, or have already fled.

The housing IGVA will carry a caseload of survivors and their children that require additional support. They will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.

They will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. They will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.

The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies. 

Community Development Officer – Southampton (England South)

We are recruiting a Community Development Officer to engage key partners and stakeholders in the region tailoring support, training and education to create suicide safer communities.

In this role you will:

· Identify, develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide.

· Proactively promote suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.

· Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training and education.

· Deliver training and awareness raising products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers and other trainers.

· Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the Strategic Plans.

· Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans.

· Represent the charity at events including conferences, panels, working groups and through media channels as required.

· Record, monitor and report on data to evaluate our projects and demonstrate impact.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops or educational activities

· A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience

· Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience

· Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme or area of work

· The ability to travel to different locations across Southampton and the South of England to attend meetings, events and deliver training.

Salary: £29,269 per annum (SCP 18) progressing by increments to £32,076 per annum (SCP 23).

This role will be to support the perpetrator intervention across Wiltshire.

You will be primarily based in Wiltshire supporting the Domestic Abuse Serial Perpetrator (DASP) project, providing bespoke specialist support to perpetrators of domestic abuse. The post holder will work as part of the IOM team within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure that clients who show abusive behaviour are supported through every stage of the process of change. Evening appointments are necessary for this post in Salisbury and Chippenham.

In addition, you will support the delivery of the CPR (Choosing Positive Relationships) Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP), which is an intensive behaviour change programme, designed to increase knowledge and understanding around domestic abuse, the impact on children and healthy relationships. The course teaches tools and strategies to help someone change their behaviour. The CPR group will require weekly evening work in Wiltshire.

The post-holder will be expected to work to Respect standards.

Full training will be available for this role. 

Client Based Duties

• Identify and assess the risks and needs of individuals who are abusive in a relationship or other domestic setting, using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
• Develop personalised risk assessments and safety plans for each service user.
• Advocate for individuals who wish to address their abusive behaviour and show motivation for change with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse by:
  • Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to those who are abusive and how your role fits into them.
  • Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to individuals, including in relation to drug and alcohol, housing, health and finance.
  • Working directly with all key agency partners to address the impact of the abusive behaviour on the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated.
• Support the client to recognise the abusive behaviour and the effect that it has on their families and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation and help them change unhealthy patterns of behaviour.
• Understand multi-agency partnership structures and work within a multi-agency setting which may include participation at the MAPPA/MARAC.  You will contribute interventions and help design a plan to protect victims and any children, while maintaining an independent role on behalf of your client, keeping the victim and any children’s safety as central to any response. 
• Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.
• Be proactive with your line manager in carrying out regular case reviews based on a review of risk and abuse which:
  • Feeds back into action planning to further progress, signpost or close cases and;
  • Provides feedback to your clients/agencies.
• Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
• Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services works in, and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all.  
• Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
• Utilizs evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved e.g. Orchards Database.
• Deliver high-quality group work, working in co-operation with your co-facilitator and following a clear manual.
• Have an appropriate attention to data, providing feedback to CPR , your line manager, FearFree and commissioners.

• Work closely with other FearFree staff to ensure appropriate support and attention is given to the victim’s needs and those of any children involved.

Working with other agencies

• Work alongside other project partners to ensure that all elements of the project are incorporated into working practices.
• Work in a multi-agency framework to support perpetrators to change their behaviour and help victims and families access relevant support.

• Prepare reports for FearFree management as requested.
• Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
• Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and institutional advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for those who are abusive within a family setting.

Main purpose of the post:

• To work alongside SLDAS full time Project and Engagement worker to develop and grow the outreach service.

• To work as part of a specialist team providing high-quality direct casework support, advice, information and advocacy to survivors of DA.

• To provide access to a full range of services for women from all communities, through the delivery of outreach sessions in discreet local venues by using creative and engaging methods with women from local communities concerned about the issues of domestic abuse and violence against Women & Girls for evaluation and development of SLDAS services and programmes.

About the Role:
The Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) Advisor has three main areas of focus: (1) Coordinating annual planning and reporting processes within the International Programmes Department (IPD) (2) Leading and coordinating the PMER Community of Practice and (3) Strengthening organisational capacity in PMER.

In this role, you will:
Coordinate the IPD Annual Cycle

• Coordinate the IPD planning and reporting processes (Annual Cycle), including supporting the development and roll out of new planning and reporting processes.
• Build close working relationships with IPD senior management, Regional teams and key departments including Finance, People, Communications & Fundraising to support application and ownership of planning and reporting processes.
• Lead on the development of PMER guidance and tools to support IPD planning and reporting processes.
• Identify and support regular reviews and adjustments to Annual Cycle processes

Lead the coordination of the PMER Community of Practice

• Lead the coordination of the PMER Community of Practice and organise and chair the Community of Practice Steering Group. The PMER Community of Practice is an informal group designed to facilitate the sharing of learning and best practice among WaterAid staff, especially PMER staff.
• Lead on PMER Community of Practice communications including the CoP communications strategy, quarterly PMER inductions, trainings and learning sessions and communicating regular PMER updates.
• Ensure that the PMER Community of Practice is active, incentivising participation in COP activities e.g. drop in clinics, webinars, discussions etc.

Strengthen organisational PMER capacity

• Develop and manage effective PMER capacity strengthening initiatives to support the application of the PMER core procedures and especially Reporting processes. This includes developing new and strengthening existing PMER guidance and tools and developing and delivering training.
• Provide remote and/or face-to-face support to Country Programmes and Regional Teams on an ad hoc basis to strengthen and build capacity in PMER
• Support any other relevant processes including administrative tasks within the remit of PMER as required

External Representation

• Represent WaterAid externally on key PMER issues, linking with key networks as appropriate

About You:

• Experience of coordinating and rolling out complex reporting processes, working with a range of stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables
• Experience of building engagement of colleagues on a specific area of work, in-person or remotely
• Experience of strengthening the skills and capacities of others either face-to-face or remotely
• Good understanding of planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting concepts and approaches
• Experience of writing reports fluently in English based on analysing and presenting complex information to a variety of audiences
• A self-starter, able to work independently and drive tasks forward to completion, escalating issues where appropriate
• Ability to travel internationally for up to 4 weeks per year
• Commitment to WaterAid's values and a working style that reflects these.

Desirable skills

• Experience in an international development organisation
• Specific qualifications or training in project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting
• Knowledge of maintaining and managing online information platforms such as SharePoint
• Fluent in written and spoken French, Spanish or Portuguese or another language widely spoken within a WaterAid Country Programme
