Job Title: Peer Supporter - Hartlepool
Salary: £22,222 (FTE) (£9,523.71 pro-rata)

About us at the NCT
A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.
Our Hartlepool Infant Feeding and Perinatal Mental Health Peer Support projects are commissioned by Hartlepool Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and perinatal mental health peer support for families throughout the Hartlepool community. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.
We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at University Hospital of North Tees and at various community settings in Hartlepool. This role will mainly be based out in the community (expenses will be reimbursed).
About the Role
You will be responsible for offering peer support for parents within University Hospital of North Tees
and the community across Hartlepool. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
· Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at University Hospital of North Tees
and perinatal mental health and infant feeding peer support in community settings across Hartlepool.
· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team.
· To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hartlepool area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. You must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Peer Supporter.

The Hospital Carers Lead will be responsible for:

Offering tailored short-term 1 to 1 support to unpaid carers, working together to develop and implement plans to help improve carers’ experiences during the hospital stay, prepare for discharge and to address carers’ own needs.

Working collaboratively with partners within the hospital, to raise awareness of carers and increase identification.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on an externally funded outreach project providing hard to reach young people with the opportunity to try free boating sessions over the summer holidays.
This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, organised, creative, tenacious, positive and IT competent with experience in project management.
You need to be able to motivate and inspire your project team, ensuring that the project is on target through continuous monitoring and evaluation. The On The Water Project Coordinator will be responsible for the line management of 3 fixed-term Project Assistants.
Whilst this role is homebased for the majority of the time, it requires the post holder to travel to each of the locations intensively throughout the 5 week delivery period, as well as regular travel for both the planning and evaluation periods. Travel expenses are covered as part of the role.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and ensure the delivery of the On the Water project.
- To manage the temporary Project Assistants at Royal Docks, Midlands and Port Edgar Boat Stations
- Work with the Project Assistants and Growth and Development Workers to enable the effective recruitment of young people, particularly those facing difficulties or disadvantage to the project through recruitment and referrals from local authorities, schools and other relevant bodies
- Devise, plan and implement systems to record and report on the project’s activity, progress and outcomes
- Manage the budget in accordance with the agreed expenditure targets, ensuring that accurate records are maintained
- Ensure the safe and smooth running of delivery in line with all internal policies
- Manage the evaluation, wrap up and future planning of the project
- Ensure the project meets it's targets and funders have timely and accurate reports
- Develop robust monitoring and booking systems and ensure they are rolled out, understood, and used across all 3 sites
Requirements

Overall Purpose
To work as part of the Grants & Programmes Team to support organisations applying for funding each year through the Foundations grants programme. Responsibilities
To undertake all tasks associated with BLCF's grantmaking functions including carry out assessments of grants applications and work alongside donors on donor-directed funds as required.
Work alongside members of the team to maximize use of our in-house CRM database for monitoring and impact reporting, working with the Head of Impact.

About this role
We are looking for a motivated individual with an understanding of homelessness to fulfil this exciting role gathering people, exploring challenges and considering solutions related to temporary accommodation (TA). The role will be responsible for pioneering, supporting and facilitating the delivery of a number of Temporary Accommodation Action Groups (TAAGs), primarily in the North West, that feed into national discussions and policy recommendations through Justlife’s campaigning work. You will also be enthusiastic to represent an organisation which puts people with lived experience at the heart of everything they do. We currently run TAAGs in London, Bristol, Brighton and across Sussex but this work is new to the North West. You will need to be a strong networker with lots of initiative. You will be able to sell the benefits of TAAGs to participants, and with the persistence to see through the establishment of these groups. Job Summary
The Justlife Network Development Worker will have a desire to see systemic change for individuals and families experiencing temporary accommodation (TA) across the north and a commitment to doing so with the voice of lived experience at its heart. The TA situation across the country is acute and it is increasingly being recognised as the central issue of the housing crisis.
This role will involve working in partnership with local authorities, charities, accommodation providers and people who live in TA or have lived experience, to support and run a number of Temporary Accommodation Action Groups (TAAGs). While Justlife works in Manchester and has some existing work to build upon in Manchester, this role will be pro-actively involved in starting a TAAG in Manchester, as well as in other locations in the North-West. This role may also support and facilitate some or all the work of the Bristol TAAG. Over the contract period, the post holder will support TAAGs to test proposed solutions to local challenges of TA, continuity plan beyond Justlife’s support, and gather impact learning.
This will include coming alongside local organisations working with people in TA, building their connections and capacity to bring about change in the sector. The role will convene regular steering group meetings bringing partners together to share learning across the TAAGs and enabling the them to feed into national discussions and policy recommendations through Justlife’s campaigning work including the Households in Temporary Accommodation All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) and our Alliance.
The role will amplify the voices of those with lived experience of TA connecting them with others and enabling them to advocate, lobby and influence for meaningful change, positively impacting the circumstances of those living in TA, both in the areas where running TAAGs and nationally. This will be carried out working alongside existing lived experience forums providing a safe method of engagement, to actively promote the involvement of those with lived experience.
