The Biochemical Society are seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer to support the work of the Marketing and Communications team across the organization to support member and community engagement.
In this role, the postholder will provide support with the full range of activities across the organization, building outreach and engagement with audiences and driving brand awareness and impact across the sector.
The postholder should possess outstanding copywriting skills, an excellent eye for design, and should demonstrate a good understanding of branding and visual identity and support with marketing activities across the membership and community remit, including regular mailing campaigns and social media activity. Along with this, collaborate with other societies and other organisations to promote the Society's objectives.
Suitable candidates will have a background in marketing and experience with effiecient competency using CRM and tracking systems, and have excellent organization and communication skills.
Although advertised as remote, there are options available for working within an office in London up to a few days per week, should that be preferred.

The Role
Reporting to the Executive Director of Locality Impact our Locality Impact Directorate is responsible for the effective delivery of high quality commissioned and non-commissioned support to stroke survivors and carers. We provide a range of support for people from the early days after stroke throughout their recovery and into the longer term, working closely with our network of volunteers, Stroke Association support groups, and independent groups as part of the Stroke Group Network.

About You
You will have:
· Senior-level experience in advocacy/influencing; service delivery or community engagement and development.
· Senior level experience influencing local or national policy change, ideally in health and social care.
· Substantial experience of holding senior-level relationships with partner organisations, ideally in health and social care / the NHS and a strong understanding of systems leadership.
· Substantial experience of leading high performing teams and large distributed teams (paid staff and volunteers) and an inspiring and motivational approach to leadership.
The East of England comprises of the areas within the Integrated Care Boards of: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Norfolk and Waveney, Suffolk and North East Essex, Mid and South Essex, Hertfordshire and West Essex, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.

We are looking to recruit an Events Coordinator to work on our two major Forum events in 2025 that will be held in Nairobi, Kenya; an Innovation Forum and a Research Forum. Each event is an exciting opportunity to bring together global leaders in humanitarian research and innovation (R&I), providing a critical opportunity to amplify the impact of R&I through strategic collaboration and knowledge sharing with the humanitarian community. You will have the opportunity be at the centre of these events in a critical role that will contribute to shaping two conferences that seek to redefine humanitarian response for greater impact and sustainability. You'll be involved in planning and participation, including travel to Kenya, through to post-event learning and evaluation. You will facilitate collaboration between our internal teams and ensure seamless coordination with external stakeholders. Peaches Womb Cancer Trust was founded in 2020 by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated researchers, doctors and nurses working alongside Professor Emma Crosbie. Since then, the original founders have been joined by invaluable volunteers and 2 staff members to ensure we can raise awareness, support patients, fund and promote womb cancer research.
Womb cancer, also known as endometrial and uterine cancer, is the most common gynaecological cancer in the UK. Affecting approximately 9,700 people annually, most are diagnosed over 50 years of age and have gone through the menopause, but womb cancer can affect younger women too. When diagnosed at an early stage, womb cancer is often treatable: when diagnosed at early stages, 1 and 2, the survival rate is 92%. However, when the disease is diagnosed at later stages, 3 and 4, the survival rate reduces to 15%. Currently 1 in 5 women, or people with a womb, are diagnosed at advanced stages. Latest figures show that the equivalent of 27 people every day are receiving a new womb cancer diagnosis and 7 people are dying from this disease every day in the UK. Peaches want to change that and save lives. We can't think of a better way to spend your time and deploy your skills.

Role Overview:
As the Operations Executive at Peaches Womb Cancer Trust, you will play the lead role in the efficient and effective delivery of our charitable and organisational aims. Reporting to our Chair of Trustees, you will work with autonomy and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our charity, managing our small team of dedicated staff and volunteers and driving our fundraising initiatives to enhance our impact and sustainability as an organisation.
Key responsibilities:

· Representation: present at board meetings, external organisation and steering groups and be the lead representative of Peaches Womb Cancer Trust.
· Governance: Assist the Board of Trustees on all matters relating to their legal obligations and charity law compliance including health and safety and safeguarding.

Frazzled Cafe is a small mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE, that provides a safe environment where people who are feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life can meet to talk and share their personal stories.
We run our free meetings online every single day of the year for anyone who needs them, and anyone can book and be included to talk, share, listen and to feel heard.
We're looking for a confident and positive self starter with a high level of emotional intelligence and brilliant communication skills to be our new Project Support and Administrative Officer.
The role will develop and implement Frazzled Cafe communications including managing inboxes and marketing via social media, printed materials, and newsletters. The Project and Support Administrative Officer will provide support to the CEO and Training and Programmes to plan and manage service delivery, support the recruitment, training and queries of volunteers, as well as provide day-to-day administrative support to enable the effective running of the Frazzled Cafe meetings and functions.
Frazzled Cafe runs meetings throughout the day, from early in the morning until late in the evening seven days a week – the Project Support and Administrative Officer will be responsible for scheduling these meetings and supporting our Facilitators when issues arise.
Please note that there may be some evening and weekend work expected when emergency tech or meeting issues arise.
Main tasks:
Core Programme:
● Manage the delivery of all Frazzled Cafe meetings by being the main point of contact for day-to-day queries, managing the day to day running of core programmes, ensuring documents, schedules, records and systems are all up to date, and being on call to deal with any issues that arise.
● Respond to all public enquiries in a helpful and efficient manner
● Managing the Frazzled Cafe meetings schedule by arranging our meetings with volunteers and uploading them onto our booking website

Strong financial budgeting and contract management skills are required to ensure maximum funding drawdown across various contracts.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership team and be able to influence the direction of local delivery. You can expect to be challenged and will need strong leadership experience as well as being able to set strategic direction for the team.

We have a hybrid way of working, so you will have a face-to-face presence in our Belfast Centre and work from home. There will be some travel required across Northern Ireland.

About the role:
NCT Parents in Mind is a commissioned project training volunteer peer supporters to deliver peer support to parents of under 2s who are experiencing mild to moderate wellbeing difficulties. We now run 4 in person groups across the county alongside a remote offer.
We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to support our volunteer team and service delivery team to support the smooth running of the Parents in Mind peer support service in East Sussex. This role is to cover a maternity leave and will run initially until March 2025, with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and the colleague’s return. This role is home-based but will require regular travel (sometimes at short notice) to attend groups in Hastings and Uckfield, so easy access to transport and a flexible approach to working are essential (travel expenses provided).
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Being the key local contact for service users and supporting their group attendance.
- Building strong relationships with the volunteer team and covering absences at group when required.
- Tracking and monitoring attendance using our database system.
- Networking and making local connections to promote the service and support volunteer recruitment.
It will be essential for the post holder to undertake the training to become a peer supporter. This training requires lived experience or close support of another who has experienced mental health difficulties during the transition to parenthood.

Grandmentors
Grandmentors is a national volunteering programme where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young adults leaving the care system. These young adults often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.
Volunteers meet with a young adult regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each person.
Role Purpose
We are recruiting two part-time Project Coordinators to effectively deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project in Wiltshire, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The postholders will work alongside teams within Wiltshire Council and with local volunteers to ensure that we improve the lives of care experienced young people (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.

- Effectively manage the service to ensure it meets agreed targets and millstones.

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations Officer preferably from the North of England to join the fundraising team at the Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA). Home based with occasional travel to Yorkshire
The BDFA is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation, which has grown to offer additional support services for families affected by Batten disease and to implementing a long-term strategy to develop its advocacy, education and research capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who has the experience and skills to manage and nurture relationships with our existing funders from charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the patients and families we support.
The role will incorporate managing a sizeable portfolio of Trusts and Foundations through excellent stewardship, and to build on this strong foundation, developing and submitting winning funding proposals to create a high-quality pipeline of new funding opportunities. The successful candidate will work as part of the Fundraising team, under the guidance of our Chief Executive Officer to continue our strategy to diversify income through this key funding stream.
The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:
- Experience and a proven track record of successful Trusts and Foundations income generation.
- Demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.
- A background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders and individual/major donors.
- Experience of providing excellent supporter care and building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders.
- Experience of targeting large grant-making bodies and securing 5-6 figure grants
- Expert knowledge of fundraising landscape, particularly Trusts & Foundations.
This job requires a motivated individual who has a passion for all those within our Batten community and a strong desire to support the development and financial growth of the BDFA. The role is full time (35 hours per week) and is home based with occasional travel to Yorkshire (where the CEO is based) and around the UK to meet donors and support fundraising events.

Salary £29k - £33k PA dependent on experience
