About the Role

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Care Services include:

• Provide leadership in a trauma informed way and have a good understanding of trauma informed work

About you:

You will be ambitious, and outcome driven for the young people supported, using your leadership, management and people skills to ensure the high-performance of the care leadership team continues as well as helping shape the wider strategy of the whole organisation as part of the Executive in this new role.

• Able to work towards or to already have a leadership management qualification at Level 7
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a senior management level in a care services environment
• Experience of delivering large scale and/or controversial change projects
• Presenting complex reports and updates to audiences ranging
• from young people to the Board of Trustees
• Setting budgets for individual projects and addressing overspend
• Knowledge of the childcare and voluntary sector
• Knowledge of care standards, Ofsted and residential childcare

Are you our new Digital Communications Officer?

We are looking for a creative social media native who is comfortable not only with presenting UWC to different audiences but also collaborating and supporting our different stakeholders in doing so. You will join the Communications and Engagement Team at the UWC International Office (UWCIO) which consists of six people and report to the Digital Communications Manager.

As a Digital Communications Officer, you will create, develop and deliver content across all UWC International’s social media channels in line with our social media strategy and lead on sourcing or creating the relevant, required reporting to demonstrate engagement and impact. You will also support UWC’s truly global network of volunteers through digital resources, templates and training. In doing so, you will use your digital communications skills for the better, contributing to the success of the movement and supporting young people to access transformational educational opportunities they would otherwise not have dreamt of.

Part of the larger Advancement Team at UWC International, the Communications and Engagement Team provides the UWC movement with strategic leadership, support and advice in the area of internal and external communication, PR, promotion, marketing, crisis communications, alumni and wider community engagement, and partnerships with other organisations. The Team has a coordination and support function for teams across the UWC International Office, as well as other UWC stakeholders globally, such as UWC schools, colleges, national committees and governance bodies. Alongside your business-as-usual tasks, you will support the Digital Communications Manager in coordinating with the advancement and admissions teams at each of the 18 UWC schools to run ad-hoc campaigns and manage external stakeholders and partners.

Service Overview: Barnardo's, the UK's largest Children's Charity are currently on an exciting and innovative Journey alongside Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of Children's homes for the most vulnerable children & young people in Leicestershire.

Although a specific home will be your base location, you must be flexible to travel throughout the locality to support other homes should the need arise. Our homes are located in Hinckley, Coalville and Syston. 

Hopes Place, our beautiful new home in Hinckley will support children & young people between 8-18 years facing risks around exploitation, by identifying and responding to harm and abuse posed to them outside of their home environment and understanding the importance of intervention. The service will provide up to 3 service users at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.

Role Purpose: 

Work Well is a government funded programme that offers an early-intervention work and health support and assessment service. This provides holistic support to overcome health-related barriers to employment, and a single, joined-up gateway to other support services. 

We work in partnership with mental and/or physical health clinical teams, GP practices and other referral partners who refer clients who are currently in employment but are experiencing difficulties in the workplace and require assistance to help them return to work, remain in work or find new employment. This programme will also support those who have fallen out of work to get the support they need to return to employment. That support will be tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

Our client has opportunities for Retirement Housing Officers to join their teams based in Hereford.  They have roles at their brand-new facility at Cathedral Park where you will have the opportunity to have real input and get to know the facility before it opens to residents.   

They are also recruiting for our existing site at the Rose Gardens, where you will get to work alongside an established and supportive team. 

As a Retirement Housing Officer, you will be providing a housing and tenancy management service to maximise tenancy sustainment.   You’ll be a regular and flexible customer contact for the residents, providing practical and preventative support and advice.  As well as this, you will signpost to specialist care and support services to maximise wellbeing, social interaction and minimise isolation. 

You provide effective building management, including property inspections, risk assessments, H&S monitoring and compliance checks.  Responding, investigating, and taking timely action to reported breaches of tenancy/leasehold agreements will be a key part of the role. 

The roles being recruited are working part time hours on the following shift patterns: 

• Cathedral Park- 25 hours per week.  Shift patterns will be working 8:30am to 5pm on Mondays and 9 to 5 on Wednesdays and Fridays. 

• The Rose Gardens- 18 hours per week, ideally Wednesday to Friday, between 9-5 with no weekend working. Salary up to £15,469 per annum.

• Use your coaching skills to support patients in developing self-management strategies, achieving personal goals, abd improving their physical, mental and social health

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and local agencies to build a robust referral network, ensuring patients have access to comprehensive support.

This role will lead on the production of monthly management accounts and other financial reports in relation to projects and programmes, assisting in the preparation of annual budgets as well as the maintenance and development of systems to deliver the most effective finance support to the organisation.

About the role

Working closely across the small team at SIDA, this post offers an exciting opportunity to support and coordinate knowledge-exchange communities of practice across a network of actors on global sustainable development in Scotland, including members from public and private sectors, academia and civil society. The role will support our members to contribute effectively to global, sustainable development by developing learning opportunities, tools, and resources based on members’ needs, as well as on key developments across the sector.

The postholder will lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of SIDA’s programme of learning activities for members including workshops, peer learning events, mentoring, webinars and other events on key topics of interest to the sector. The jobholder will be expected to support other events hosted by SIDA such as the annual conference when needed and to generally support the team deliver against the strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate, monitor and assess members’ access to learning resources by: 

o Developing or commissioning learning resources

o Facilitating member access to online tools, learning platform and best-practice resources,

o Ensuring existing resources are up to date, relevant and regularly reviewed. 

- Strengthen and coordinate knowledge-exchange communities of practice across SIDA’s stakeholders by:

o Working with other team members to develop collaborative learning opportunities including peer to peer learning,  collective problem-solving, and knowledge exchanges between stakeholders globally,  among stakeholders within our membership and their partner countries

o Supporting members to access and make best use of new online collaboration spaces in particular SIDA’s members Hub.

- Support learning, development and capacity strengthening among members by:

o Identifying priorities for training and mentoring, based on members’ needs as well as key developments in the global sustainable development sector and beyond

o Leading on the delivery and evaluation of SIDA’s offering of workshops, peer events and mentoring

o Facilitating or commissioning facilitators for learning activities
