The role is conveniently located near Liverpool Street and hybrid working is available working Monday to Wednesday in the office.
You will be an effective team member working alongside the Finance Manager to ensure that income and expenditure are appropriately processed in accordance with The Sick Children’s Trust procedures and coding and costing are accurate and appropriate.You will be the first line of contact for day to day finance queries.
Duties will include:
- Processing all income and expenditure transactions ensuring accurate coding.
- Oversee the fixed asset ledger
- Preparation of quarterly and annual VAT returns
- Preparation of annual expenditure budgets and monthly expenditure reforecasts
- Banking any donations and prepare bank reconciliations
- Prepare for annual external audit and carry out in internal audits
- Provide support on budget preparation
About you
You have experience of working in a finance or accounting team, ensuring you can hit the ground running. Your skills and knowledge ensure you are confident in carrying out day to day and monthly financial processes and enable you to provide managers advice on finance and coding processes.
Proficient IT skills and good working knowledge of accountancy software are a given
You have strong organisational skills and an eye for detail to ensure accuracy.
Just as importantly you have strong interpersonal skills to support colleagues and to work as a good team member.

What you'll be doing
The 'Eyes On, Hands On' (EOHO) project enables those with an interest in our work to act as our eyes in their local area. Volunteers feedback the condition of war graves so our resources are directed efficiently.
In this role you'll develop opportunities, using volunteers to further the care provided by our operational staff. You'll liaise with the local regional manager and your volunteers, building and maintaining partnerships with a wide range of volunteer organisations and associations, ensuring regular engagement. You will also build upon already established relationships with external cemetery groups where opportunities exist.
As the volunteer coordinator, you'll manage volunteer applications, engage with passionate volunteers, and conduct engaging online training sessions.
What you need to have
- Practical experience managing volunteer groups (including remotely)
- Personable and excellent communication, especially with a diverse range with people
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages

Terrence Higgins Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Health Promotion Specialist, working in Essex as part of the wider Essex Sexual Health Service.
The post holder will support in the design and delivery of effective health promotion (HP) and behaviour change communication (BCC) interventions appropriate to the needs of Young People and other groups at increased risk of poor sexual health outcomes.

The Diocese of Truro is going through a major period of change. This new and broad-ranging role has been created to support both our staff and clergy manage the many different people aspects of this change as well as strengthen our existing HR offer.
Reporting to the Director of HR, you will provide high quality operational and administrative HR support to staff and clergy on a range of areas. You will also work to support change and cultural initiatives and projects, including those relating to wellbeing, policies, IT, performance management, case work and recruitment.
This, however, is not your average HR role. In addition to our 50 staff, you will also provide HR support to clergy, parishes and volunteers, and so will need to be up for the challenge of learning about the canon and ecclesiastical laws that governs those in clergy roles, and working with the National Church of England.
You don’t need to be a practicing Christian, but you do need to be passionate about providing and developing an excellent HR service and have the credibility, skills and knowledge to be able to work with a huge range of people at all levels, together with an eye for detail and excellent written and IT skills.
Overall purpose of the role
To providing quality, timely and effective operational and administrative HR support across a broad range of HR functions for managers, employees, and licensed ecclesiastical office holders (i.e. clergy) in the Diocese of Truro.
HR Operations and Support
1.1. Offer professional and accurate HR guidance and direction at all levels of the diocese, and to clergy and parishes on operational employee and clergy matters, including probation, discipline, grievance, complaints, absence and wellbeing.
1.2. Undertake all necessary employee, volunteer and consultant HR administration relating to contracts, letters, leave, answering employee queries, etc.
1.3. Work with the Finance team to ensure monthly employee payroll is carried out accurately and to time.
1.4. Act as administrator and data manager for the HR system.
1.5. Undertake administration for disciplinary, grievance and performance casework, including arranging meetings, preparing paperwork and taking minutes.
This is a developmental role, and we are willing to support the right candidate to achieve a recognised qualification in HR.

We are excited to be recruiting for a new Communications Coordinator at Volunteer Centre Hackney who will play a key role in helping increase volunteering and grow strong thriving communities across Hackney. Using wide-ranging communications, you will be vital to reaching diverse people across the borough and building key partnerships to help people enjoy the benefits of our services - all of which hugely improve people's lives and bring people and communities together.
The Communications Co-ordinator will play a key role in helping to build, promote and retain VCH’s public profile with a diverse range of audiences, helping us to drive volunteer sign-ups in Hackney, and promote our services to a wide range of stakeholders.
We have recently launched a whole new website and branding, so this is an exciting time to join our team. We have started to work together with residents to make films and are making plans to increase both our reach into specific communities, as well as promote our impact to new funders and partners.
You will plan, write and distribute a range of content across the marketing mix including our website, blog, newsletters, social media and in print. This includes writing copy and sourcing imagery for VCH events and activities, creating regular e-bulletins, updating social media channels, creating content to share the impact of our work, as well as helping to promote outreach and other events and activities to various diverse communities. This will be done together with VCH staff and volunteers, who you will support to co-produce interesting content.
You will take the lead in developing and implementing regular communications campaigns that celebrate the diversity of, and our work with Hackney’s local communities. This will include targeted campaigns around a number of topic specific awareness days, as well as with and for specific communities, to increase our reach across diverse populations.
You will roll out our brand refresh across all our programmes, working together with VCH staff to ensure buy-in. You will be proactive to create new and interesting materials to promote our services and their impact to a wide range of stakeholders including new funders as well as partners, and will ensure all our social media channels and websites are updated.
