As Service Manager, you will take the lead in the management of the charity’s care workers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional leadership and guidance to CSWs / CSAs through supervisions and observations, and staff meetings.
- Ensuring maximised usage of resource hours by concise completion of rostering for sector.
- Take the lead in the recruitment and interviewing of CSWs/CSAs for allocated sector.
- Being the first port of call for any safeguarding concerns in designated sector and ensure that fact finding process is followed correctly and reports are clear and concise.
- Completing 70% reviews of service provision and ascertain whether a referral to Surrey County Council is required.
- Submitting clear reports with regards to sector performance to Senior Service Manager each week.

The successful candidate will have a Care Certificate and knowledge of CQC regulations and Health Care Act and an ideally an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Previous line management experience, ideally in a care setting, including rostering and completing observations and supervisions is key, as is a good level of IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word/Excel) and the ability to learn to use other digital platforms and software. Crucially you must have the ability to demonstrate dignity and respect for adults and children with care and support needs, and have a thorough understanding of the needs of unpaid carers.

As Service Manager for the SMC service, you will empower a dedicated team of frontline workers to support vulnerable young people in leading independent and fulfilling lives. You will provide flexible and responsive accommodation-based support to the young people across 2 services in Hemel Hempstead, adapting to service user’s individual needs and circumstances.
You will work with your team to enable service users to access a variety of meaningful activities, including education, employment, training opportunities and volunteering, and will also support the young people to develop independent living skills, including as cooking, cleaning, budgeting and building their confidence so they can move on positively. In addition, you will liaise with various external agencies jointly to ensure that each young person has a smooth, personalised journey to independence.

What will you be doing?

You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those we support and you will help the Regional Service Managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. About the role
Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. You will support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the supported living activity/service. You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of Support Workers. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an
exemplary role model.
As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. You will be expected to work 20% of your total weekly hours on shift across your assigned services and will be able to role model all aspects of a support worker role duties and responsibilities. Following your time on shift, and in general practice at all other times, you will have responsibility for reporting back to the Service Manager and for maintaining a continual dialogue loop of feedback that focuses on quality, and continuous improvement and learning and ensuring the smooth operation of the allocated group of services.
A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for the role.
About you
- You will have significant, recent experience at a front-line management level in field of learning disabilities in regulated services which may have included being a Registered Manager
- You will have knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to adults with learning disabilities, CQC regulations and Health and Safety issues.

Starlight supports children and their families to enjoy the power of play to help boost their wellbeing and resilience during treatment, care, and recovery from serious illness. Working closely with their Head of Play Services, as Service Delivery Manager you will provide operational management to the Health Play team, leading on the end-to-end process of their Health Play services. You’ll work across all areas, from procurement through stock and budget control, to the logistics of delivery. You will also develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including health professionals, suppliers and distributors to ensure the delivery of services is cost effective, high quality and fit for purpose.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.
