This new role will lead on individual giving and events fundraising for Oasis Hub Waterloo with a focus on securing funds for Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank and our associated advice services. This will include developing our awareness and capacity to gain income from high-net-worth individuals, events and legacies.

If you are right for this role, you will be a committed, motivated, and outgoing individual who wants to support the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of young people living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, working in a partnership capacity as part of a holistic health and wellbeing programme. Your role will be multi-faceted, and you will therefore be flexible and able to offer a variety of SRH interventions in a broad range of settings, to a broad range of young people.

First, you will provide brief interventions in sexual health in an outreach capacity at schools, colleges, universities, leisure centres, youth organisations, and other venues. Here, your primary focus will be to provide basic information about SRH to young people, whilst also encouraging them to complete a Chlamydia screen and register to the free condom scheme. You will also promote online testing for those aged over 18, and connect young people with other local sexual health services through referral and signposting.

Second, you will deliver SRH and relationships training to groups of young people and professionals, in smaller workshop settings as well as to larger groups. You will be able to deliver accurate information on a variety of topics that are often sensitive and complex. You will have an existing knowledge base that you will be willing to expand and solidify through a combination of supported training and independent learning.

Third, you will facilitate offsite drop-in sexual health sessions and offer 1:1 sexual health support to young people who attend any of the four Young Greenwich youth groups. You and your team will each be responsible for attending the four Young Greenwich hubs once each week during evening hours, working closely with the youth group leader as well as the young people themselves to establish trusted relationships and an engaging programme of activity. You will be proactive and creative at integrating sexual health to other, ongoing activities, and ensure effective safeguarding.

Additionally, you will work closely with the wider SHO team, including supporting the sexual health phone lines processing screening results, and where necessary, signposting to relevant services. Across all aspects of your role, you promote local sexual health and contraception services to young people and adults alike, referring to in-person or online services as appropriate and handholding as much or as little as needed, particularly to those most vulnerable. You will keep accurate monitoring records for all interactions, referrals, Chlamydia screens, and C Card registrations / distributions. You will also contribute to quarterly service review reports.

This role requires flexibility, working unsociable hours in the evenings, and occasional weekends. Schedules may vary from week to week depending on programme need.

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced public affairs professional to join our small staff team to lead our public affairs activity and to grow the influence of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. This is an exciting opportunity to influence positive change at a time of significant policy and political developments.

As Public Affairs Advisor, you will lead on the Coalition’s public affairs and influencing activity. You will be responsible for influencing the Government’s policy and legislative agenda relating to children and young people’s mental health, forging relationships with the new Parliament, and ensuring the Coalition’s views are heard across Westminster and Whitehall.

With over 370 members across the country, our Coalition has a significant potential to extend its influence. Many of our existing members are well placed to influence at a local level through working with their NHS Integrated Care Boards, councils and MPs, but do not always feel confident carrying out public affairs work. As Public Affairs Adviser, you will work with our members to upskill them to carry out their own influencing activity through a series of ‘Learning and Development’ workshops.

You will have Public Affairs experience of developing successful strategies to influence legislation or government policy, have strong knowledge of political systems and processes, have existing networks and contacts, and feel passionate about creating positive change for babies, children and young people.

This is a new role within the Coalition staff team and is generously supported by the Prudence Trust and the Hollick Family Foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the Coalition’s parliamentary influencing strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians and other key stakeholders, such as civil servants and special advisers.

• Connect Coalition members to decision makers and help spotlight their work, for example, helping to organise visits to services.
• Provide advice to members on engaging with their local decision-makers such as their local MP, Integrated Care Boards and Councillors.
• Deliver workshops with members to share information and skills related to influencing and public affairs activity. For example, this could include delivery of sessions on influencing local systems, working with the government, and legislative processes.  

General

• Work closely with the Coalition Lead, the Policy and Public Affairs Assistant, and Chair of the Coalition to develop and review priorities for the Coalition and support to drive these forwards. You will also be required to work closely with the staff at Centre for Mental Health.

What will you be doing?

We are looking to recruit a committed individual to support the delivery and development of our youth justice practice work, specifically to provide support to police and youth justice services in the delivery of youth diversion. 

Youth diversion schemes are a way of addressing low-level criminal behaviour without putting children through the formal criminal justice processing (either through out of court resolutions (OOCRS) or prosecution) that can result in a criminal conviction and other negative consequences. These schemes operate for under-18s in a variety of different models across the country.

Since 2014, we have provided direct support to over 70 YJSs and their local police forces to develop their diversion schemes, as well as supporting the development of new schemes. In this role, you will help provide this support, which will include: delivering multi-agency workshops, assessing practice against the evidence base, reviewing guidance and protocols and providing recommendations for improvement.

The role will also include:

• Identifying and supporting areas for practice development;

• Working closely with Youth Endowment Fund, Youth Justice Board and the National Police Chiefs’ Council;

• Developing practical tools to support practitioners;

• Presenting at external events;

• Contributing to the design and facilitation of practice sharing events and workshops;

• Engaging with practitioners, stakeholders and service users to shape delivery and represent the Centre;

• Working with the Centre’s teams to ensure practice work feeds into our research, policy and communication activities.

About the role:

The Digital Officer is a key member of the Marketing and Digital team. We are a friendly, creative, and supportive team, responsible for raising awareness and growing the brand of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, as well as our website, email, social, direct mail, paid advertising and more. This is a particularly exciting time to join our growing team as we shape and improve the charity’s digital approach and prepare to launch a new large-scale capital fundraising appeal.

As Digital Officer you'll work closely with Marketing and digital colleagues, as well as fundraising teams across the organisation. You will be a key player in maintaining and improving the charity’s digital presence, focussing on website management and web content, keeping our supporters and audiences at the heart of everything you do.

It is also an exciting time to join our digital team, as this role will begin part way through a redevelopment of our website. The Digital Officer will play a vital part in supporting the wider digital team to QA and deploy the new site, and support the Digital teams efforts to embed new ways of working and processes for the new site and ongoing roadmap.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support day-to-day management and improvement of the website. Includes content updates to ensure information is correct and up-to-date, and editing pages as needed across the site, following digital best practice.

• Support with the blog content calendar and blog content creation. Writing, building, publishing and optimising digital content, then measuring performance using tools like GA4 and Hotjar.

• Embedding and promoting digital best practice. Ensuring new content developed follows digital, SEO and UX best practices and supporting colleagues within the charity to understand and deliver the best digital experience across key campaigns by providing advice, recommendations and feedback.

• Supporting the wider Digital Team in delivering a training programme across the organisation, which will embed our new content creation process and build digital skills across the organisation.

To be successful in your application you'll need:

• Professional experience using CMS (Content Management Systems) and knowledge of website management, on-page and technical SEO and digital best practice. Knowledge of UX is desirable but not essential.
• Experience using data tools, such as Google Analytics for reporting and identifying actionable insights.
• Excellent copywriting, editorial and proofreading skills.
• Experience in writing for the web or digital channels and creating content tailored to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to communicate, work collaboratively and build good working relationships.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work proactively and manage multiple projects concurrently.

The following are beneficial to your application but not essential:

• Experience of digital collaboration and project management tools like Trello, MS teams or JIRA.
• Experience in a similar role within a complex organisation, charity or health/science organisation.
• Experience of working with contractors, agencies and freelancers.
• Previous training in digital publishing, digital marketing, Google Analytics, SEO, UX, copy writing or similar.

Since last year, we have been gradually launching our new Excellence Network regional clinical lead roles across England as part of our new regional model in England. We're now recruiting for the final regional clinical lead in England to lead their regional network in London.

In September 2024, the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network (PEN) moved to a new regional model in England and introduced the 7 newly-formed PEN regions in England, with the boundaries aligned to the 7 NHS England regions. Click here to read more about the new model.

The regional model in the devolved nations remains the same: there are 3 regions in Scotland, 2 in Wales and 1 region in Northern Ireland.

Last year we began gradually recruiting the consultancy services of regional clinical leads in each of the 7 regions in England, to help us deliver this new model.

By the end of 2024, we were delighted to have appointed 4 regional clinical leads. We welcomed Antonella Macerollo and Sarah Fraser in the north west and north east and Yorkshire, respectively. You can find out more about Antonella and Sarah here.

We are now recruiting for the final regional clinical lead vacancy in England to lead their regional network in London.

Who can apply?

Any UK-based healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with an interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills is welcome to apply. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged.

You’ll have a good understanding of the landscape of health and care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

Time commitment: 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.

Remuneration: monthly rate based on skills and experience.

Term of consultancy services: 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend for a further 3 years. You can then re-apply for the role if you wish.

Policy, Influencing and Change
 

· Strategic leadership of IoUH Policy and Influencing: Delivering and evolving Policy & Influencing strategy that embeds policy, influencing into all IoUH’s programmes and work, overseeing effective execution of the strategy by the Policy & Influencing Team.
 

· Strategic leadership of IoUH Change function: Responsible for a strategic approach to partnerships focussed on scaling and sustaining what we know works. Overseeing delivery of a select portfolio of projects that are operating at scale and being replicated, particularly with a view to influencing local and national policy making and co-funding partnerships.
 

· Impact delivery: Overseeing the development and delivery of Policy and Influencing and Change strategies to support IoUH to achieve strategic aims and stated impact goals, including influencing decision making, policy debate and the policy and practice of key stakeholders.
 

· Stakeholder engagement and thought leadership: Working with the Director of Comms to manage IoUH’s external presence. Coordinating Policy, Influencing & Change stakeholder relations ensuring that IoUH has strong relationships with key stakeholders that support
scaling of effective approaches and enables wider policy and practice changes, with priority given to Government, Parliament, Lambeth and Southwark Councils, the Greater London Authority, other funders and policy influencing organisations. Main Responsibilities:

Our FOOD (Food On Our Doorstep) programme aims to: provide regular access to a sustainable supply of food to people at risk of food insecurity; encourage families to access local support services and be signposted to other agencies; increase disposable income for local families to improve life chances and wellbeing; reduce the amount of food being sent to landfill in the UK by utilising surplus food. 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day running of the programme to ensure the clubs have high standards of service delivery.

2. Supporting the FOOD Club Coordinator to carry out regular compliance checks to ensure the quality and safety of the service, in order to protect service users and Family Action. 

3. Ensuring all aspects of the role are carried out in line with food safety/hygiene standards.

4. Ensure volunteers are using up-to-date allergies forms to prevent any risk to service users.

5. Support the FOOD Club Coordinator with financial checks, stock control, recruitment, induction and training of volunteers.

6. Recording accurate data to enable the FOOD Club Coordinator to report on KPIs, including uptake of the scheme, service user income, and the positive financial impact on families. 

7. Encourage regular attendance at FOOD Clubs to ensure income is maintained and to prevent food wastage. 

8. Provide regular feedback to the FOOD Club Coordinator on the quality of food and resources from suppliers.
