We have two exciting opportunities for two Qualified and/ or Trainee Multidisciplinary Advocates to join our established and friendly Advocacy Team. Both positions are permanent, requiring commitment on weekdays between the hours of 9 and 5. The first is being offered as a full time 35-hour 5-day week post whilst the second requires a person who can work 28 hours over a 4 day week.

Rethink Devon and Torbay Advocacy is one of the Devon Advocacy Consortium (DAC) partners which means that we work across Devon and Torbay alongside other local organisations to provide specialist advocacy services for adults with a range of additional needs including learning disabilities, physical and sensory disabilities and mental health.

Our multidisciplinary advocates specialise in 3 different types of statutory advocacy namely Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA), Independent Care Act Advocacy (ICAA) and Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA). They support people, who have difficulty speaking for themselves, to express their views and wishes and understand their rights and entitlements.

How you will make a difference

As well as providing independent advocacy and holding a caseload, I will provide line management to a team of multi-disciplinary advocates within the service. I will provide leadership and management support to that team and be accountable for motivating them to deliver a high-quality service, whilst working to maintain the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark standards. I will support advocates to be accountable for managing the day-to-day delivery of advocacy to their clients, ensuring they take responsibility for managing their caseload and delivering positive outcomes for clients accessing the service. I will lead the team to ensure Rethink CARES is embedded in the service and in the delivery of the service to ensure a positive working culture is maintained.

This is a new role giving you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker and as a practical fundraiser. As head of fundraising you will work closely with the CEO to grow charitable income and philanthropic support from governments, individuals, trusts and foundations, corporate companies and other areas. You will have developed your portfolio of fundraising skills over time within charities that work for social good and can demonstrate experiene in securing fundraising income particularly in securing five and six figure grants/donations. Experience of securing statutory funding will be essential. You will have experience of line managing junior fundraising staff and will be keen to develop your managerial responsibility.

You will be a confident and capable leader who will work with colleagues towards supporting an annual programme of circa £3m. This role is crucial to building the charity's long-term sustainability, with a focus on exploring innovative opportunities.

Job Summary:

The Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director of Programmes will provide high-level administrative support, ensuring the efficient operation of the office and supporting the Deputy Director in managing their workload. 2. Project Coordination:

This pivotal new role will be responsible for securing high-value, seven-figure (financial and non-financial) partnerships with corporate entities that protect and empower refugees globally.

The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of strategic partnership prospecting, manage relationships with key corporate prospects, and line manage a Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer.

This role is an 18-month fixed-term contract.

• Develop and deliver a new comprehensive business development strategy that will lead to seven-figure, sustainable corporate partnerships, delivering both unrestricted and restricted income.
• Coordinate market research to identify potential high value, strategic corporate partners that can deliver income, visibility and shared value for UK for UNHCR and UNHCR.
• Proactively approach prospects for partnership discussions. 
• Develop stewardship plans for top prospects, ensuring full use of senior leadership, technical colleagues and established private sector network.
• Develop unique combined financial and non-financial partnership propositions that lead to transformational partnerships.
• Lead the prospecting cycle: from first meeting, through to opportunity development, through to negotiation and contracting.
• Supervise and mentor a Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer.
• Work closely with internal teams, including Philanthropy and Communications, to align partnership efforts with organisational priorities.
• Remain flexible and quickly respond to emergency situations, identifying and responding to fundraising opportunities at pace.
• Represent UK for UNHCR at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and build connections.

Key duties will include

• leading on the operationalization of the Economic Empowerment work as defined within our social inclusion strategy
• providing leadership across the organisation to ensure programme teams are working towards common objectives
• to lead the Economic Empowerment team providing oversight of the technical leadership and expertise in this area to guide the development and delivery of effective programmes

We have more than 12,000 individual members in the UK and worldwide. As a charity, we advocate for the key role of statistics and data in society and work to ensure that policy formulation and decision-making are informed by evidence for the public good. Members work with RSS staff to support areas such as policy development, education, training, statistical communication, and statistical literacy.

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention. 

Informed by an in-depth understanding of the needs of members and prospective members, the Director manages these activities strategically across the organisation, bringing relevant staff together within small teams working on defined goals that support our objectives, foster a sense of value and community for all members and ultimately lead to the growth in membership and impact of the Society. 

Pension and benefits: Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.

Location: The RSS office is in central London and currently open twice a week. We offer flexible working arrangements and office attendance is encouraged but not mandatory depending on the role. Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Job Purpose

· To manage an exciting, new programme in Southwark implementing a whole school approach (WSA) to food

· To promote, develop and deliver the programme across nurseries, primaries, secondaries and SEN schools in Southwark

· To ensure that the programme is delivered on time and on budget

Key Tasks include:

• Onboard and line-manage a Project Officer and volunteers to support delivery, providing training as required
• Conduct desk research to group schools and nurseries using a RAG rating, based on level of support required to achieve a WSA to food

• Support with the development of resources and training packages for schools
• Work with an early years’ consultant to tailor resources and training to nursery settings

PWS is a complex genetic disorder characterised by low muscle tone and failure to thrive at birth, and later evidence of short stature, intellectual disabilities, behavioural and psychiatric challenges and impaired satiety.

IPWSO is the international umbrella body for PWS associations around the world with 47 full paying country members and contacts in over 120 countries. We are committed to supporting people with PWS and their families whatever their needs and wherever they live.

We build communities between people with Prader-Willi syndrome, their families and the professionals who support them to share knowledge and expertise and improve outcomes for people with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families everywhere.
