About the role

As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing The Passage's Community Fundraising strategy, designed to inspire and engage both existing and new supporters, ultimately building a stable and sustainable income pipeline.

Main duties

• Help deliver the teams’ existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.
• Act as an ambassador for The Passage with community groups, personally delivering talks and presentations to build relationships and promote our work.
• Manage and oversee a programme of station and street collections, ensuring that volunteers are trained and equipped to represent The Passage with the public.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join SJA’s Bid Team, managing and producing tender responses across a variety of business areas including Commercial Training, First Aid and Health & Safety Supplies, Events, Urgent & Emergency Care, and other services. The role of the Bid Manager is to support the organisation in achieving revenue targets, business growth and strategic objectives through managing the Bid process and ensuring completion of high-quality tenders within the stipulated timeframes. You will maintain and develop a bid library, tender pipeline and supporting processes, sharing best practice and learnings from bids which are won and lost whilst also analysing trends from tenders and recommending improvements or change to optimise the number of bids for which we can tender.

About the Role 

Manage the Bid Management process, ensuring all bid documents meet deadlines and have undergone appropriate levels of scrutiny. Chairing and organising bid kick off meetings with internal stakeholders. You will need to feed the information into the Bid Writer in a timely and organised fashion and ensure all bids are of consistent high quality to meet the customer or commissioner’s expectations.

• You will also, where required, need to lead on writing, creating and preparing expressions of interest, prequalification questionnaires, ITT responses and standalone proposals and presentations working closely with operational/technical specialists within the organisation & ambulance operation to ensure excellence in quality, accuracy and presentation
• Lead on the creation and support bid presentations; including the preparation through to participation of delivery to key decision makers
• Maintain the Bid library working with functions and the operation to collate relevant, up to date supporting information for proposals, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility
• Complete the bid/no bid tool and agree with relevant key stakeholders to ensure any tenders are aligned with both the relevant departments strategy, operational capability e.g. skills, vehicles and capacity

About the Role

We are recruiting a new Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team. This is a mid-senior level position in the organisation, reporting to the Deputy Head of Business Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sustainable growth of our Equal Education (EE) and Green Economies and Infrastructure (GEI) Portfolios working closely with technical portfolio leads. We are seeking candidates with significant experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within the international development sector.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a Business Development Manager role (please see person specification below) within a cutting edge and growing international social development organisation. As a Business Development manager, you will identify and win new opportunities for the company. You will ensure and facilitate efficient bid development processes working closely with technical team colleagues, as well as finance, HR and programmes teams, to produce high-quality bids in a timely manner.

Business Development – Portfolio Management

· BD Lead on specific technical portfolios, acting as a liaison between the BD team and the technical team to proactively identify, track and win work in that technical area.

· Maintain accurate reporting of all sales activity.

· Manage a pipeline of opportunities.

· Attend donor market meetings (e.g. Early Market Engagement meetings) for relevant bids, engage in donor consultation and network with others as appropriate.

· Convene decision makers to make swift and informed decisions whether to bid or not.

· Lead on pre-positioning work to identify partners, team members and develop our approach (in collaboration with other colleagues) for new opportunities.

· Negotiate consortium roles on bids and develop a teaming agreement to reflect that.

· Lead on our response (with input from relevant colleagues) to direct approaches from clients to provide consultancy and research services.

· Regularly meet existing partners/clients to develop and maintain relationships and to proactively identify opportunities for further joint working.

· Develop relationships with potential new partners and clients.

· Play an active role in building and maintaining relationships with SDDirect’s Associates and network of consultants.

· Own and develop marketing materials that showcase portfolio work.

Bid Production

· Lead on and be responsible for technical and commercial proposal development (including budget), working closely with colleagues from our technical, project management and finance teams. For large bids, the technical and commercial roles may be performed by two people, though the technical lead will retain responsibility for the whole process.

· Produce job descriptions/terms of reference for specific roles on new programmes.

· Use company resources and networks as well as own contacts to identify and contract consultants.

· Agree and document all terms in-line with BD process.

· Ensure compliance requirements for each bid are in place, e.g. data protection, due diligence etc.

· Capture and share learning from tenders under areas of responsibility.

· Review contracts for work won against the contract checklist.

· Deliver handover to the Programmes Team for seamless mobilisation.

Communications

· Contribute to internal action to strengthen SDDirect as an organisation through participation in meetings, working groups and other fora.

System and Process 

· Support the continuous improvement of BD Team performance.

· Actively participate in development of the BD Team annual workplan and objectives, taking a lead on agreed sections.

· Actively contribute to the development of BD Team systems and processes, proactively improving them where necessary.

· Record own time as required on Kimble, SDDirect’s time management system. 

Are you  an experienced major donor fundraiser with a track record of achieving significant gifts from HNWI, corporates and trusts? This is a challenging and demanding role, bringing together all major gift sources. Supported by a fundraising assistant, you will be responsible for delivering ambitious income targets from HNWI, corporates, trust and legacies. You will need excellent communication and networking skills and be able to produce high quality, imaginative and compelling presentations, proposals, letters and pitches. You will also be responsible for our individual giving and fundraising in the community by directing and supporting the fundraising assistant. 

Project Manager

Location: Head office (Victoria) with time spent at Sydenham Hill Wood and Dulwich Wood, plus roughly 2 days home working
Tenure: This is a 3 year fixed term position.

We’re proud to have recently been given funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to complete the next phase of our ‘Reuniting Sydenham Hill Wood & Dulwich Wood’ project. 

The project will focus on 27.4 hectares of ancient woodland habitat in the largest remining tract of the Great North Wood in South London. This natural heritage is a vital resource for the local community – the Woods saw an unprecedented 81% increase in footfall during the height of the pandemic, with visitor numbers increasing from 189,645 in 2019 to 343,385 in 2020. Only fragments of the ancient Great North Wood landscape remain; this project will help to ensure the long-term protection of the largest area of remaining Woodland. 

As Project Manager, you can expect to:

• Oversee all work, ensuring that all project work is completed on time and to budget as described in the delivery phase, holding quarterly meetings to ensure we’re on track
• liaise and further develop relationships with relevant partners and funders
• oversee procurement and management of contractors in the capital works programme for the Woods, this includes the installation footpaths, conservation fencing, boundary railings, and improved entranceways
• oversee and coordinate the Woodland Activity programme which will be delivered by the Senior Officer - Sydenham Hill Wood & Dulwich Wood & the Learning & Engagement Officer along with volunteers
• to implement a signage & interpretation strategy for Dulwich Wood to enable greater, physical and intellectual access
• liaise with the Trust’s Ecologist & manage Ecology Consultants as required. To oversee the implementation of surveys

John Lyon’s Charity is delighted to be recruiting for a Grants Manager to join its dynamic Grants Team. This is an exciting time to join the Charity as it embarks on a new chapter of our strategic objectives in grant giving. The Grants Manager will be responsible for their own portfolio of grants as well as supporting the Grants Directorate with the development and execution of the Charity’s strategic objectives to maximise the benefit of the Charity’s funding.

The Grants Manager will be responsible for end-to-end grant-making; assessing applications, making recommendations and monitoring of a portfolio of grants. The grants will be broad in range from smaller, single year grants under the School Holiday Activity Fund to multi-year, large grants within the Open Grants Programme. The role holder will work closely with other members of the Grants Team, including the Directors, to support learning, develop special initiatives and contribute to the creation of policy and processes. The role will suit someone with previous grant-making experience who is seeking to develop their expertise in place-based grant-making and/or the CYP sector. Given the nature of the existing portfolio, experience of working with cultural organisations and education settings would be a particular benefit.

· To lead on a review of the charity’s existing programme of events aimed at improving return on investment and delivering a programme of events in line with wider strategic objectives

Person Specification:

· Excellent experience with a successful track record of charity fundraising across a broad range of disciplines including events and legacy giving

· A thorough understanding of GDPR, ICO and Fundraising Regulator guidelines and legislation around prospect and donor development

· Successful track record of recruiting and stewarding event participants

· Able to manage expectations of a number of stakeholders with competing priorities

· Proven ability to successfully influence and engage with a range of audiences and stakeholders

· Able to communicate with empathy to patients and their families, and with passion and influence to potential supporters

Join the National Portrait's Gallery’s Development team as Fundraising Manager, Grants. You'll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager to support the delivery of an ambitious and exciting fundraising programme and raise income through grant-giving bodies, including Trusts and Foundations, statutory funders, and corporate foundations.

The postholder will seek to secure critical support for budget-relieving activity taking place across the Gallery, including learning and engagement and exhibitions, as well as support for acquisitions, special projects, and capital works. They will make a significant contribution to ensuring exemplary relationships with grant-makers and their representatives, and actively cultivate prospects to increase support for the Gallery.

The Fundraising Manager, Grants will work with the Senior Fundraising Manager, Grants and Legacy Giving to develop and implement a strategy for grants fundraising and support ongoing stewardship of funder relationships.

The postholder will also support the Gallery’s ambition to grow legacy giving as part of the wider team objectives.

Key Experience, Skills and Criteria:

Essential

• Proven track record of soliciting donations from Trusts and Foundations, and statutory funders.
• Experience of engaging a wide range of stakeholders and excellent relationship management skills.
• High level of proficiency working with standard business software including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of CRM databases such as Tessitura.

Desirable

• Experience of working within an arts/heritage environment.
• Experience of working on/knowledge of an acquisition campaign and/or National Lottery Heritage Fund application.

Skills

• Excellent written skills, with the capacity to produce clear and accurate documentation.
• Ability to craft compelling cases for support and to communicate effectively through face-to face meetings and written proposals
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility and good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to accuracy and detail in all aspects of work.
• An ability to plan and manage own workload, adapting to changing conditions when necessary. 
• An interest in and commitment to the long-term success and development of the Gallery.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
• Demonstrates passion and approaches work in a positive, enthusiastic way.
