The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead MOVE Against Cancer in its next phase of growth, ensuring that our programmes continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those living with and beyond cancer. The CEO will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy to ensure the organisation’s financial growth, programmatic excellence, and alignment with its mission. This role will require a visionary leader with experience in charity management, HR, fundraising, strategic planning, and navigating the dynamic landscape of cancer support.

CEO - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Income Generation & Financial Responsibility

Lead the development and execution of MOVE Against Cancer’s income generation strategy across a diverse range of funders, including trusts and foundations, business partnerships, individual and community fundraising. Create and manage a realistic, achievable annual budget, ensuring that all financial performance aligns with organisational goals. Monitor and report on the organisation’s financial performance, providing regular, accurate updates to the Trustees. Develop relationships with current and potential funders, reporting back on the impact of their donations and securing further financial support. Identify new opportunities to diversify and maximise income streams to support organisational growth, ensuring that the charity can meet its long-term goals. Oversee compliance with fundraising regulations, ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Ensure monthly financial reporting and performance tracking, reviewing risks, and taking corrective actions as necessary.

Strategy

Lead the sustainable growth of MOVE Against Cancer, ensuring that the organisation adapts to the evolving landscape of cancer support and related sectors. Work with the Board to regularly review and refine the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains responsive to external changes and opportunities.

HR, Compliance & Infrastructure Management

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements, including health and safety, Charity Commission guidance, safeguarding, and fundraising regulations. Oversee data protection policies, ensuring that MOVE Against Cancer meets all General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy laws. Develop and review organisational policies and procedures at appropriate intervals to ensure best practices and compliance with regulations. Establish a continuous improvement framework, gathering feedback and data to guide the organisation’s strategic direction and operational excellence. Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure that all services meet or exceed the expectations of funders, partners, and beneficiaries.

Stakeholder Relationships

Protect and enhance the reputation of MOVE Against Cancer by acting as the organisation’s spokesperson Actively seek collaborations and partnerships with other charities, NHS Trusts, and relevant statutory bodies to strengthen MOVE Against Cancers impact.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications & Experience

Significant experience in growing and leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, with a proven track record of success in expanding reach and impact. Previous experience leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, including strategic planning, governance, and financial management. Demonstrated experience in leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including managing major donor relationships, grants, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising campaigns. In-depth knowledge and experience of cancer support services and the challenges faced by people living with and beyond cancer, including their families. Strong track record of working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationshipbuilding skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders including funders, healthcare professionals, and the public.

MOVE Benefits

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Director, preferably with experience in training or education, to take our income-generating training and events programmes to the next level and develop new products and services that meet the needs of our growing membership and wider community.

The annual RSS conference is going from strength to strength, and our training programme is particularly popular with organisations who want to provide high quality bespoke training for their staff. With the growth in the analysis and visualisation of data across business and industry and the increasing popularity of careers across sectors in statistics, data science and AI, you will also work with wider RSS and our expert members to identify gaps in the market and design new ways to meet needs while also providing a return for the Society that we can invest in our charitable activities.

The Director of Commercial has responsibilities for setting the strategic direction of our commercial activities, developing new products and services to enable growth, and ensuring that our plans and activities are aligned with our charitable purpose and strategic objectives. They work across the society to ensure that opportunities are effectively marketed and support colleagues to generate the budgeted revenue.

Job purpose

To lead the RSS’s commercial activities and develop new products and services that meet the needs of our growing membership and wider community.

Key responsibilities

Understanding needs and the changing external environment

• Develop understanding of the preferences and needs of statisticians and data professionals, and others interested in data and statistics, at an individual and organisational level, to evolve our products and services and align our commercial activities to those preferences and needs
• Undertake research to identify new target markets for commercial products and services
• Undertake research to understand competitors and benchmark RSS products and services
• Monitor and respond to developments and emerging trends in charities, membership organisations and other learned societies, and in statistics/data science/AI to ensure that our commercial offerings remain timely and relevant
• Provide robust analysis of client behaviours and feedback to inform future planning.

Development of strategies and plans

• Drawing input from across the organisation, develop strategies for sales and marketing across commercial products and services that support the organisation’s objectives, including training and conferences and events
• Oversee staff responsible for business development to capitalise on opportunities
• Lead the creation and delivery of fully-costed and resourced business plans for commercial products and services that align with key strategic goals

Programme management and delivery

• Deliver programmes of commercial products and services which meet the needs of target markets including training, advertising, sponsorship and venue hire

• Work with colleagues to identify and develop sponsorship opportunities, and support colleagues in sales meetings with potential sponsors

Regulatory and compliance

• Act as a Director of RSS (Services) Limited, overseeing its governance and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and legislation.

Training

• Develop the portfolio of training courses, creating and launching new courses in response to user needs
• Expand the training programme by targeting both statisticians and data professionals and non-professionals and widening our geographic reach
• Establish and manage effective systems and processes to develop and deliver all training products, including identifying new training topics and trainers (with input from our statistical membership community)
• Ensure high standards of quality and customer service by evaluating feedback and managing the quality assurance process
• Ensure the effective promotion and marketing of training courses.

Conferences and events

• Oversee the development and operation of the RSS conferences and events programme
• Lead the conference and events team in the delivery of RSS conferences and events.

Interfaces with other teams and groups

• Convene and lead cross-RSS groups to develop, share and review plans and activities and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration
• Work with heads-of and other teams across the organisation to support related objectives
• Ensure effective working relationships are maintained and contractual requirements are met with our trainers, partners, assessors etc. including developing and agreeing terms & conditions (including intellectual property agreements and contracts) with clients
• Identify relevant experts within the RSS membership and engage them in programmes, formalising a network of volunteers and providing support and advice

Working for the RSS

Pension and benefits

Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.

Location

The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with on average two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meetings is required (including all staff/team meetings and governance/committee meetings that take place in person). Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Working hours

35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered.

Holidays

25 days per annum, plus bank holidays and an additional shut down between Christmas and New Year.

The Role

• Coordinate the efficient day to day management of the organisation’s rental income, for approximately 250 tenants/units.

About Global Health Partnerships GHP

GHP is a global health charity working in partnership with governments, health institutions, and international bodies to train health workers and strengthen health systems across 31 countries.

We do this through grants management and capacity building, alongside research, convening and advocacy towards the goal of Universal Health Coverage. The team and role overview 

Reporting lines: Main point of contact will be the Chair of Board when agreeing Board minutes/other tasks but will regularly liaise directly with Ben Simms (CEO) and/or Saf Rahbour (COO) when agreeing Board minutes/other tasks.

2-4 consulting days per month, within the period of April 2025 to March 2026 taking into account the Consultant’s prior commitments. Please note there will be a degree of flexibility within this, with some weeks requiring more capacity, others much less. The timing of deliverables will always be agreed in advance with the Consultant. 

The contract is for 36 days maximum over a 12-month period. The Consultant will receive a daily rate (£250-£350) dependent upon experience and qualifications. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable and will cover all expenses apart from project-related travel and communication expenses. Where reasonable travel and communications expenses are incurred, the Consultant will be remunerated following the submission of timely and accurate receipts. 

Receipts must be kept, where possible, in order to claim for support costs. Consultants will not be expected to use their own funds to cover project-related costs.

Invoices must be submitted monthly in £ GBP and the HRMC exchange rate used to calculate any support costs expenses. The monthly exchange rate to be used should match the month the costs were made (and the month should match the receipt).

NEON is a capacity and infrastructure building organisation that exists to accelerate the transition to a new economy by building the power of social movements in the UK. This role is all about leading the charge on fundraising to power NEON’s exciting 2025-2029 strategy. You’ll work closely with the ED: Strategy & Fundraising to shape and roll out a bold new approach, keeping our mission front and centre, as well as our Head of Finance to revolutionise our fundraising management systems internally. We are looking for an enthusiastic Events Assistant with excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills to support our busy programme of workshops, webinars, conferences and bespoke events. You will work closely with our Learning Programme Officer and liaise with our partners and associates to organise online workshops and events. You will act as the first point of contact for our participants, ensuring that their details are accurately recorded in our events database and manage all communication with them so they receive accurate event information. Hosting online events and managing the evaluation and post event communications. Experience in using video conferencing platforms is essential.  

Key accountabilities:

• Supporting the administration and setting up of online meetings, webinars, seminars and conferences (for up to 1000 participants). 
• Supporting the successful delivery of meetings and events through effective administration and hosting using online platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams and Zoom). 
• Communicating with facilitators, participants and senior staff, in a positive and professional manner. 
• Updating customer and events databases; providing reports and information using these. 
• Producing, collating and reporting online feedback. 
• Working as part of a wider team, supporting colleagues to deliver events administration and hosting. 
• Providing administrative support to the wider team, including formatting of PowerPoint presentations and proofreading documents. 
• Supporting the production, update, distribution and quality assurance of workshop materials. 
• Attending local and national events and providing on the day event support.

We work with clients across England and Wales from our main office in Devon, and a satellite office in Sheffield. Key Responsibilities:

• Project Design and Management: Lead the full process of developing the GH5050 Gender & Finance report, policy briefs, case studies, and other outputs aligned with GH5050’s strategic goals. Oversee production processes, research coordination, and consultant management while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. Work closely with the Finance Manager on budgeting and financial reporting and prepare reports for Trustees and funders.
• Research and Data Analysis: Oversee and conduct research on gender equality in finance, managing large-scale data collection, validation, and analysis. Ensure rigorous quality assurance processes and compliance with research ethics and data protection standards, including GDPR.
• Stakeholder and Partnership Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations, research consultants, advisory groups, and other stakeholders. Act as the main point of contact for organisations featured in the reports, managing communications, data validation processes, and external engagement.
• Consultant Recruitment and Team Leadership: Recruit, onboard, and manage a dynamic team of external research consultants, providing training, capacity strengthening, and quality control of their outputs. Ensure effective internal communication, project planning, and risk management.
• Report Production and Dissemination: Develop compelling, evidence-based reports in collaboration with professional writers, data visualisation experts, and designers. Work with the communications team to create and implement impactful dissemination strategies, including policy briefs, presentations, public events, and media engagement.

1. Administrative Support:

Main purpose of the role:

The HR Coordinator would lead HR functions in L’Arche London, overseeing all HR aspects, managing a small team, and coordinating with L’Arche UK for HR support, recruitment, and payroll administration. 
You will play an integral part in the leadership of L’Arche London and will help shape its future development.

The HR Coordinator is responsible for:

Working closely with the Head of Research Funding, the Trusts & Foundations Lead will identify new opportunities for funding and manage Trust and Foundation applications end-to-end. This varied role will include managing a pipeline of opportunities, researching and liaising with healthcare professionals such as clinicians, researchers, and other key stakeholders to develop compelling requests for support and funding.

The role holder will be a confident self-starter with demonstrable evidence of raising funds from corporates, grant making trusts and foundations, company foundations, public sector funders and lottery bodies. A key aspect of the role will be establishing and maintaining positive relationships with smaller funders (£10k-£100k), ensuring all obligations under grant agreements, such as updates and reporting, are fulfilled in an engaging and timely manner.
