We are looking for a Communications Coordinator.

Help us make more happen at one of the UK’s leading universities, UCL. We’re looking for someone to take our digital communications forward, grow our social media channels, and keep us at the cutting edge of content and trends. You’ll run the day-to-day operation of our primary digital channels, including social media, and support other teams across the charity to use their digital channels effectively, making sure our communication is consistent and high-quality.

This is a full time and permanent role. This role is also a hybrid working role, where 40% of the role will be on campus based.

Join our successful Philanthropy fundraising team and make a real impact. We're seeking an exceptional Philanthropy Executive to join our established team. In this role you’ll engage small to medium sized trusts and major donors, connecting them to the difference they can make to thousands of men and their families facing prostate cancer.

Together with the Senior Philanthropy Executive, and Philanthropy Managers, you will liaise with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that you put together high-quality funding proposals, that will inspire supporters to make four and five figure gifts, which will significantly improve the lives of men facing prostate cancer.

The successful candidate will need to work closely with their peers to ensure that CRUK has the maximum impact across all their audiences to improve cancer outcomes.

About the team

The Health Information team work to inform and engage the public with information on cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening. We do this using evidence and look for opportunities to reach those who need it most. We use our knowledge and communications expertise to guide and shape activity across the charity including policy, partnerships and fundraising.

What will I be doing?

• Oversee the provision of high quality, accessible and evidence-based health information including maintaining a good understanding of best practice

• Provide strategic direction for CRUK's health information priority topics to maximise impact across public facing channels including but not limited to health marketing, communications and partnerships

• Act as a senior subject matter expert on health information and use of evidence, advising senior internal and external stakeholders (Executive Board, other charities, researchers)

• Act as a senior media spokesperson and provide expert sign-off for health information content used in a range of external channels (including press and policy influencing)

• Provide functional leadership to the health information team, ensuring that their time is prioritised effectively to focus on the areas of greatest impact - including balancing proactive workload and support for other teams.

• Responsible for managing the team budgets to ensure activity and services are delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

• Build effective relationships with other evidence teams and policy to minimise duplication of effort, ensure consistency of messaging, and maximise our impact on a range of topics in support of CRUK and PIC's wider influencing and engagement strategy

What skills are we looking for?

• Excellent judgement of sound research methods, ability to critically appraise qualitative and quantitative evidence and research

• Experience in translation of evidence into targeted, relevant and accessible public information

• A good understanding of either cancer prevention or early detection with the ability to develop expertise in both of these areas

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team, and prioritise workload in a complex matrix environment

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to sign off health information positions and represent this internally and externally

• Experience of setting strategies and overall team direction that align with department and organisation objectives

• Ability to balance risks and opportunities and advise peers and senior stakeholders appropriately in decision making.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus and instil confidence and credibility of advice and decision making with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to constructively challenge and push back, whilst maintaining good working relationships

Responsibilities

Attend UK Community Foundations (UKCF) Marcomms meetings.

Preparing for meetings: prep of papers, managing dates and availability; minute taking and general administration for Board level members under clear and strict requirements around confidentiality.

Regular updating of requirements of Board incl: EDI data and references; annual Conflict of Interest; DBS and other requirements.

Supporting Chair of Trustee in their role as required and in an administrative support.

Support general office administration such as maintenance of equipment inventories and training records and PAT testing schedules and others task to ensure smooth running of the main office.

Organize events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.

• Working with wider BSG team to support communication of key projects and initiatives across all channels

• Understand and use core functionality on the website to a high standard, and play a role in maintaining and improving processes and their documentation

Position Summary/ Objective

A new role within our European region, the Paid Social Media Specialist will be working closely with our Senior Digital Marketing Lead (UK) to deliver world-class paid media campaigns on multiple digital platforms in multiple countries.

This role will work across IFAW’s four fundraising markets in Europe: France, Germany, Netherlands and the UK to grow our paid media revenue. The role will focus on Social and Search advertising but also to experiment with new emerging platforms.

Directly reporting to the Senior Digital Marking Lead in the UK, this role will coordinate and plan new paid social campaigns and content, working closely with the Digital Leads, and the Senior Fundraising and Marketing Manager, to roll these out across our markets.  You will work across a variety of channels such as Meta/Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, Bing, Google, YouTube, Pinterest, Spotify and more.

Role and Responsibilities

Working with the Digital Marketing Lead in each country (France, Germany, Netherlands and UK), the role will:

- Coordinate, develop, execute, and optimize paid digital campaigns from conception to launch and completion across EU fundraising markets.

- Building out media buys for various ad platforms and overseeing the day-to-day execution of paid media to support each market.

- Work closely with Digital Marketing Leads to agree on campaigns, budget allocation and spend, ad grouping and audience targeting.

- Support and contribute to the creative process of building advertising campaigns. Including video creation specifically for advertising.

- Conduct in-depth keyword and website research, and suggest landing pages optimization.

- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies.

- Working cross-departmentally, specifically with the Content team.

- Identify and suggest new emerging platforms and avenues for digital outreach.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

- 5+ years’ experience with digital paid media, specifically with Meta and Google advertising.

- Excellent understanding of creating and implementing paid media campaigns with prior campaign examples (across multiple countries/markets a plus). 

- Ideally completed advertising certifications (for example, Meta Certified Media Buying Professional, Google Analytics 4).

- Extensive experience in creating digital ad assets and copy, including video.  

- Video creation skills specifically for advertising, experience working with Adobe Creative Suite tools.

- Fluency in working with analytics platforms, for example Looker Studio.

- Goal driven, extremely analytical, with the ability to make data-based decisions and conclusions.

- Excellent communication skills to present the results of campaign performance verbally, as well as provide clear and concise reports.

- Fluent English (spoken French, German or Dutch is a plus).

- Interest in IFAW’s programmatic work and global wildlife conservation issues.

- Self-starter with ability to jump into a hectic situation to provide support.

- Highly organised and self-motivated; able to manage and prioritize multiple projects, desire and capability to work in agile, fast-paced and demanding environment.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a regional team under tight deadlines.

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

· providing a public rescue, rehabilitation, and release service for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife.

· providing a learning and outreach programme, public education, and access to a unique wildlife experience.

To maximise the potential funding available for Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR), particularly through obtaining grants from trusts, foundations, local authorities and other sources.

This role will also be responsible for enhancing the reach and value of legacy fundraising at SWWR and building strong relationships with corporate supporters to help secure the financial sustainability of the Charity. 

Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. The post holder takes care of medium- to long-term activities,  budgeting, planning and strategy, as well as being responsive to emerging opportunities and adapting to change. The Fundraising Manager is also the main point of contact for new and existing supporters, providing support and stewardship to the amazing individuals and organisations who want to help wildlife.

Alongside the above, the Fundraising Manager will also provide support to the current fundraising personnel and activities at SWWR, coordinating and supporting a range of tasks and functions to aid in the smooth running of the Charity. 

Fundraising is integrated into every part of SWWR’s operations. The Fundraising Manager works closely with colleagues in Education, Retail, Events, Finance, Volunteering, and Wildlife Care to understand their needs and provide support to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.

SWWR’s annual operational costs are approximately £900,000. The majority of funding is raised through supporter donations, fundraising events, trading activities and legacies.

About the role:

We are seeking a new Head of Business and Operations to play a crucial role in supporting the Head to review and drive continuous improvement.

The key responsibilities in the role will include:

1. Finances: You will oversee and manage all finances and a multi million pound budget for the school.
2. Human Resources: This will include leading on people strategy, workforce planning and performance management including evaluating the schools operational model.
