This is a really exciting time to work for an official NHS charity at Southmead Hospital. You will be joining an ambitious and successful team with exciting plans to impact more patients and increase support for our staff across the Trust.

The Corporate Partnerships Officer will support the Charity’s fundraising team, leading the charity’s corporate fundraising, as well as supporting the Philanthropy and Partnerships team to develop the individual and mid-level donor programmes and legacy stewardship.

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of all areas of fundraising, but we are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience in corporate fundraising or business development roles. With an outgoing and tenacious personality, you’ll have the ability to identify influential contacts both internally and externally, spot opportunities and deliver mutually beneficial partnerships for the Charity and our funding partners.

Working closely with the data, marketing and communications, impact and senior management teams you’ll help to ensure the Charity delivers a proactive and donor-centric supporter journey, using data insight to drive acquisition and first-class donor stewardship to deliver sustainable income. The role works collaboratively with other members of the fundraising team to maximise income for the charity, working to acquire new partnerships, diversify and upgrade giving behaviour and deepen supporter relationships for long-term value.

About the role  

We are seeking a Head of Development and Partnerships to join our Senior Management Team alongside the CEO, Head of Programmes and Head of Finance and Operations. 

You will drive income generation and partnerships development with funders and prime contractors within primarily the UK public and international development sectors, ensuring that our programmes, courses and consultancy offerings meet market needs and are financially sustainable.

You will lead on activities generating over £1m annually through grants, tenders, contracts, partnerships, and strategic communications contributing to The Human Edge's financial growth and brand development. 

As the key member dedicated to income generation, you will shape and expand our funding streams, driving the growth of our services while serving as a charismatic external ambassador and effective communicator and influencer.

Role Summary

ProVeg International works to normalise and advance the protein transition and adoption of plant-rich diets through influencing the food industry, with the end goal of transforming the food selection in supermarkets and on menus to be more in line with healthy, sustainable diets.

Working closely with the Director of Partnerships and Institutional Engagement, you will build a strategy to encourage pre-competitive collaboration between food companies to drive forward progress on the protein transition. You will be responsible for cultivating relationships with UK food companies (particularly retailers and foodservice providers), positioning ProVeg as a trusted partner, strategy adviser and solutions provider on healthy, sustainable diets and protein diversification. You will also own and maintain our International Corporate Engagement toolkit, and provide corporate engagement support to the ProVeg network as needed (e.g., planning and running events and webinars).

With a thorough understanding of how food businesses operate, and a demonstrable background in effecting change within the food industry, you’ll be an experienced relationship builder, a driven and enthusiastic self-starter, and an excellent project manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead international corporate engagement, with a particular focus on retail and foodservice providers.
• Work closely with the Director of Partnerships and Institutional Engagement, develop a creative 3-year international corporate engagement strategy and draft annual and quarterly objectives and key results.
• Plan and run corporate engagements events (e.g., roundtables, webinars) in collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
• Develop and maintain relationships with UK food companies.
• Identify where ProVeg can add value to existing coalitions and programmes focused on the protein transition.
• Represent ProVeg International at B2B events focused on healthy, sustainable diets, food systems transformation, and protein transition.
• Manage communications with corporate partners and stakeholders, working closely with the B2B comms lead.
• Contribute to bids for funding (corporate, institutional) led by the International and UK Development teams.
• Work closely with the research team, contribute to insight generation (surveys, reports, etc.) for corporate engagement activities.
• Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning and Research team to develop tools and assessments to monitor the UK and international protein transition progress against objectives.
• Keep an eye on relevant food policy and regulations, together with the UK and EU Policy Managers, and incorporate advice and actions into the Corporate Engagement strategy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in or with the food industry.
• A track record of working to bring about change within food businesses.
• Experience organising and facilitating engaging and impactful online and in-person events for food companies.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills with the ability to lead and work collaboratively.
• Significant experience in developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Strategic and impact-driven.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective listening, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including confident demeanour and experience in engaging with a diverse range of food industry stakeholders. 
• Willingness to travel nationally, and within Europe where required (estimated once every 1-2 months).

Preferred:

• Existing network within the UK food industry.
• Previous experience of facilitating pre-competitive collaboration between food companies.

The Philanthropy Manager will be a driven individual with a background in securing five-, six-, and sevenfigure gifts from charitable funders, corporate organisations, and/or Major Donors. • Demonstrable experience of developing and managing significant budgets and operating plans, setting and achieving fundraising target.
• Demonstrable understanding of a broad range of corporate fundraising mechanisms and current trends in social responsibility.
• Knowledge of charity legislation and in relation to corporate fundraising.
• Excellent communication including presentation, negotiation and influencing skills with ability to build relationships at all levels including senior management.

Frazzled Cafe is a small mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE, that provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where people who are feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life can meet on a regular basis to talk and share their personal stories. 

We run our free meetings online every single day of the year for anyone who needs them, and anyone can book and be included to talk, share, listen and to feel heard.

As part of our exciting plans for growth, we are seeking a Development Manager to lead on the organisation’s fundraising and communications to fulfil our mission and play a key role in supporting the next phase of Frazzled Cafe’s growth and development.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy with a range of fundraising activities focusing primarily on trusts and foundations but also individual donors, corporate partners and fundraising campaigns. You will also lead on creating a communications strategy to significantly grow our reach, brand and impact. Working with our Training and Programmes Manager, you will support our plans to expand our network of fantastic Volunteer Facilitators. 

This is an exciting, creative and flexible opportunity for the right person. The ideal candidate is someone with a demonstrable successful track record in fundraising, alongside the skills of a talented and persuasive communicator and relationship builder. They will be creative, solution focussed, willing to get stuck in and have good humour.

MAIN TASKS

Fundraising

● Lead on developing and delivering an annual fundraising strategy to support our ambitious plans for growth, securing a minimum of £250k per year from Trusts and Foundations, individual donors, fundraising events and campaigns, and corporate partnerships.

● Research and generate a pipeline of funding applications, including multi-year grant opportunities from Trusts and Foundations

● Lead on writing compelling applications and conversations with funders, talking persuasively and informatively about Frazzled Cafe’s work and impact

● Work with the CEO and trustees to develop new relationships with individual donors and strengthen partnerships with existing supporters

● Work with the CEO and Head of Training and Programmes to develop new opportunities for corporate sponsorship and partnerships

● Lead on organising fundraising events such as dinners with major funders and initiate and develop other opportunities for fundraising.

● Lead on Frazzled Cafe’s annual Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign and identify any other fundraising campaign opportunities throughout the year, with support from the Project Support and Administration Officer

● Prepare regular reports and updates for our funders, engaging them with our work and the impact of their support

● Ensure that Frazzled Cafe’s fundraising work is GDPR compliant and meets best practice standards.

Marketing and Communications

● Lead on the development of Frazzled Cafe’s first communications strategy to drive awareness and demand, grow our audiences and scale our impact.

● Work with the Project Support and Administration Officer to manage Frazzled Cafe’s socials, newsletters and website, growing engagement across all our channels

● Work with the Head of Training and Programmes to develop a communications strategy to attract and recruit more Volunteer Facilitators and attendees for our programme

● Help deliver Frazzled Cafe’s rebrand with external agency and lead on ensuring consistency in messaging across the organisation

● Lead on developing a suite of resources and materials that can be used to promote our services

● Work with and support the Project Support and Administrative Officer to capture and interpret data from our communications to maximise impact

● Bring innovative ideas to promote the charity externally to develop a national brand and awareness of what Frazzled Cafe offers.

Other:

● Work with and support the Project Support and Administrative Officer in relevant fundraising and communications tasks, delegating where appropriate.

Person Specification:

● Proven experience of successfully developing and implementing a fundraising strategy

● Demonstrable experience in a communications, or similar, role

● A demonstrable track record in writing successful funding applications and securing funds, including multi-year grants, from grant-making organisations

● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills demonstrating ability to produce persuasive and compelling copy and content

● A natural relationship builder with ability to influence and negotiate at all levels

● Competence and knowledge using communication tools and platforms  (Frazzled Cafe currently uses X, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn; Canva, Squarespace and Mailchimp)

Context and background: 
 
There are 1.5 million children and young people with a disability (CYPD) in the UK.  Over 3/4 cannot access regular leisure facilities which massively impacts their health and well-being. Furthermore, the impact of living with a disability can have a significant impact on the wider family, with over 72% of parents reporting mental health challenges and over two thirds saying they feel isolated some or all of the time.  
 
Gympanzees’ mission is simple. We want all children and young people living with any disability to have access to high-quality, fully inclusive leisure facilities so that they can enjoy fun, fitness, and friendships and support their families out of isolation.  
 
Sounds simple, but it’s a huge task.  There is nowhere in the UK like this. Anywhere. At all.  But we’re changing that, and we want you to join us! 
 
Since 2018 we’ve been hosting Pop Up’s during easter and summer months, across Bristol, in various special schools which has seen us welcome over 23,500 visitors.  Each one has helped hone and improve our delivery model, and longer-term plans.  These Pop Ups have seen some incredible firsts, including: 

• A 6-year-old taking their first steps 

• A 12-year-old sleeping through the night for the first time 

• A 3-year-old having his first laugh 

• An 18-year-old standing independently for the first time 

Families have travelled from all over the country to enjoy the Pop Ups, some covering 6-hour journeys just for their afternoon of fun! 

During COVID we quickly adapted our offer to include a Lending Library which continues to this day, offering nearly 300 items of specialist equipment, free of charge. 

In 2023 we purchased a new site to develop into a permanent home which will open in summer 2026.  Redevelopment is underway, and so too is an £8 million campaign to support this extraordinary project.

Gympanzees is a growing team which currently consists of 16 people.  The fundraising team consists of 6 people.  This role is a crucial member of the fundraising team and will be delivering on a vital income stream that is both financially and strategically significant for the capital project.  Overseeing a total income budget in the region of £1.4m across Corporate, Events and Groups fundraising, this role will lead and deliver on the strategy to identify, engage and steward key supporters from across these income streams, with a heavy focus on our corporate partnerships. 

Job description 

As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital income from across the corporate partnerships funding stream, whilst leading a small team to maximise their own fundraising efforts from across small events and group fundraising.  
 
This position is ideal for someone with proven experience delivering the above and especially those with capital campaign experience, but this is not a pre-requisite.  The main focus is on developing new business through corporate relationships. 
 
You'll be tasked with distilling complex information into compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and objectives while aligning with a corporate partners CSR and ESG strategy.  Energy, confidence and excellent communication skills are essential.  
 
To do this you will need to use your experiences of identifying, developing and winning new corporate support utilising and developing our Corporate Champion scheme, Charity of The Year as well as commercial & strategic opportunities. 

Your approach will be highly organised and methodical to ensure effective and efficient processes lead to meaningful corporate partnerships.

Main Responsibilities - include but are not limited to. 

• Utilising your expertise and corporate partnerships knowledge to identify, develop, engage and win corporate partnerships to help deliver Gympanzees mission.

• To be accountable for meeting and exceeding annual income targets and key performance indicators. 

• To monitor and evaluate income against budget, taking corrective action as required.

• To develop a fully researched and engaged prospect pipeline of five, six and seven figure prospects for short, medium and long term opportunities. 

• To help maintain a comprehensive Charity of the Year Calendar. 

• To play a key role in maximising income for Gympanzees from existing commercial partnerships and relationships, with high quality proactive support and development.

• To work collaboratively across Gympanzees to maximise the potential value of corporate support, such as assisting Gift in Kind and budget alleviating opportunities relating to the redevelopment of the permanent site. 

• Line management and support of one corporate & events fundraising officer who stewards our corporate partners and oversee a small events calendar.

• Line management and support of one fundraising administrator who provides admin support across fundraising, Just Giving reporting, direct comms with groups and individual supporters, whilst also delivering discrete projects such as pieces of research.  

• Ensure that our database and supporter information systems are updated on a regular basis in line with Data Protection legislation and Gympanzees policy and procedures to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate. 

Please demonstrate to us you are, or have: 

1. Experience of researching and engaging with key decision makers within a corporate environment including but not limited to C-suit and CSR/ESG leads. 

1. Experience of working with and through senior volunteers and committee members. 

1. Experience of success in delivering five, six and seven figure relationships. 

1. Experience of account management or partnership management within charity or private sector. 

1. Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied and competing workload using initiative and creativity to problem solve and deliver success.

1. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to analyse, interpret and present complex information in a clear and persuasive way for a wide range of audiences (including senior) to inspire support. 

1. Proficiency in using Windows based software packages, MS Teams, and CRM databases. 

1. An independent, outgoing, and confident individual, who is results orientated, working on their own initiative, whilst also being a compassionate and supportive line manager who can create the environment for their team to thrive and deliver.

1. Proven ability in accurate financial record keeping and assimilating and presenting data in a clear and accessible format. 

1. Strong business acumen and understanding of how different sectors and organisation might want to engage with a charity.

• Lead the development and delivery of TastEd’s fundraising in line with our existing 5-year strategy (2024-2029).

• Ensure the charity is financially secure and can generate consistent income to support the charity's growth by developing a range of fundraising income streams

Key Responsibilities include:

• Fundraising Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for 2024-2029, encompassing trusts and foundations, individual giving, major donors, and corporate partnerships.

• Diversifying TastEd’s funding streams through some of the following: 

  • Trusts and Foundations: Lead the identification, application, and reporting processes for grant funding opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with grant funders to secure year-on-year grants and new grant funding.

  • Individual Giving: Develop and execute strategies to grow TastEd’s pool of individual supporters, including campaigns to increase one-off and regular donations. Engage with existing and potential donors through personalised communication and stewardship programs.

  • Corporate Partnerships: Work closely with the Director to identify and secure corporate partnerships that align with TastEd’s values. Develop proposals and manage relationships to gain corporate support through sponsorships, donations, and collaborative initiatives.

  • Major Donor Cultivation: Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors. Develop tailored engagement plans to deepen relationships with high-net-worth individuals and secure significant gifts to support TastEd’s mission.

• Communication: Effectively communicate TastEd’s work and the vital need for our charity to a diverse audience, including donors, partners, stakeholders, and the wider public. You will craft compelling narratives that highlight our impact, engaging and inspiring potential supporters.

• Impact Measurement: Support the development of our impact measurement strategy, strengthening our monitoring, evaluation, and impact systems to ensure effective data collection that demonstrates our impact to funders and stakeholders.

• Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure effective systems, processes and legal requirements for fundraising are in place and adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice and Fundraising Regulator requirements.

• Reporting: Regularly report progress to the Director and Board of Trustees. Prepare written papers, policies, and reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.

The role of the Operations Manager is to support the delivery and growth of the Award through provision of guidance and support to a cohort of existing Operators – a network of local, regional and national organisations around the world, licensed directly by the Foundation to deliver or manage the Award.
