Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

It is an exciting and important time to be joining us at Crisis. We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland, and Wales so they can leave homelessness behind for good. We have recently adapted the way our services work to maximise our impact in ending homelessness. We have increased our capacity to work with people one to one and strengthened our ability to support those people facing the most barriers to preventing or ending their homelessness. 

Location: Crisis Skylight Birmingham, 303 Rhubarb Building, 25 Heath Mill Lane, Digbeth, B9 4AE.

You will be able to work from home one day per week in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working Policy. You will be expected to travel around Birmingham and wider West Midlands on a regular basis to meet with partners and stakeholders. National travel i.e., to London Head Office or other Skylights will take place on average once every six weeks.

The Director of Crisis Skylight Birmingham will be responsible for leading and developing strategic partnerships across Birmingham and the West Midlands region. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the service into our new 10-year strategy, influencing key local and national political, community and business leaders, partners, and providers to drive forward our strategic priorities all with the aim of ending homelessness. You will play a key role as a decision marker on the Client Services Senior Leadership Team, along with your counterparts from across the different regions of the UK.

We are looking for an experienced, innovative, compassionate, bold, collaborative senior leader from the homelessness, health, safeguarding or associated sectors. You will have experience of building relationships with senior leaders to develop strategic partnerships with the aim of achieving strategic objectives including but not exclusively, in areas of change management, strategic development of services,.& leading collaborative partnerships that directly contribute to achieving performance targets  You will have the motivation, commitment, and vision, able to influence a range of audiences and able to articulate a compelling case for change to key decision makers across the West Midlands .  You will be a leader in your field, with experience of operational delivery, ensuring high quality and safe services to vulnerable adults, with the ability to provide clear leadership to your team.

The Development Coordinator is a new role created to enable the Worthing Theatres & Museum Development team to raise crucial funds that will support the organisation in achieving its ambitious goals.

WTM has recently undergone a significant fundraising review and a new strategy is now in place. This strategy reflects the organisation’s need to increase fundraised income over the next 3 years (2024 - 2027) to meet its ambitious creative and capital plans to deliver on its mission to offer transformative creative experiences for the community of Worthing.

The postholder will work closely with the Head of Development and Development Manager to deliver the ambitious fundraising strategy for WTM. They will be responsible for raising funds of up to £10,000 per application from primarily Trusts and Foundations and some local corporate partners, and supporting the team with operational tasks including financial processes, events and communications.

Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

Fundraising and Relationship Management

● Manage relationships with Trust and Foundation funders giving up to £10,000 per year including ongoing donor stewardship, reporting writing, crediting etc.

● Secure new income by applying for grants and funding of up to £10,000 to support a range of WTM projects from Trust and Foundations and from local businesses including researching trusts and businesses, identifying suitable projects within the WTM portfolio to apply for, writing bids etc.

Development Operations and Support

● Lead on supporter crediting for the department ensuring that all supporters are acknowledged in relevant digital and print materials across the year.

● Act as day-to-day point of contact for the Development team’s use of the Spektrix database ensuring best practice.

● Work with the Finance team to monitor Development income on a monthly basis and report back to the Head of Development and Development Manager.

What is the overall purpose of the role?

At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring boroughs, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present, and promote their ambitions for the future.

The Staying Connected project provides weekly one-to-one and group support for young people aged 11 - 19 years, facing multiple challenges. We are looking for a confident, established professional with extensive knowledge and networks across housing in Scotland, who is comfortable navigating faith spaces. You will be a project manager who is happy working independently and remotely, while achieving high quality deliverables.

About the role

We have recently received funding to explore expansion into Scotland for the Faith in Affordable Housing project. This will be a 15-month project with potential to expand, subject to funding.

The proposed project is to undertake a scoping exercise across Scotland, to ascertain the need for social and affordable housing, and the key stakeholders providing housing, as well as the potential presented by faith organisation-owned assets to meet housing need. The resulting feasibility study and business plan will then inform the potential next steps for Faith in Affordable Housing Scotland.

About the team

Part of an award-winning Communication & Policy Department, our Scottish Empty Homes Partnership (SEHP) is a Scottish Government funded project aimed at enabling private sector empty homes to be brought back into use across Scotland. The Partnership achieves this via a mix of policy work, capacity building, training, best practice sharing and awareness raising with councils, community groups and others.

It’s also home to the national Empty Homes Advice Service - a public facing advice line that anyone can call for help or to report an empty home.

The Consultant role will support the Director and Mobilise team to coordinate and  deliver a range of projects supporting our clients. This new and exciting role is well suited to an individual that enjoys building new connections, working with and supporting people and organisations to learn and develop, values working to a high standard and wants to bring about change. • Experience of designing and delivering successful training or coaching sessions to successfully build the capacity of NFP organisations in person and virtually 

• Developed tools and resources for NFP sector organisations

• Experience or involvement in civil society – working with communities, volunteering,  fundraising, community organising etc 

• Expertise in data analysis, IT systems

• Knowledge or experience of digital engagement tools, social media, and/or AI as pertinent to the role

• Strong analytical skills

• Experience in creating and analysing surveys

Key Terms 

• Salary Range: £27,500-£38,000 (FTE), depending on experience 

• Negotiable full or part time hours – (minimum of 0.6 FTE). The role is open to compressed working in accordance with the needs of the job 

• Home and remote working with one day or more per week at a shared office

• Some travel required within London and England which may include overnight stays according to the needs of contracts (anticipated travel days 2-3 days per month)

• Occasional evening / weekend work required 

• 25 days paid leave per year plus bank holidays (pro rata) 

• Statutory sick leave & pension contributions

• Probationary period applies (3 months) 

• Notice period 2 months (1 month during probation)

We are currently looking for a Young Person's Resilience Worker to be part of our Newham Rise children and young people’s team. This role involves delivering targeted interventions, focusing on drug and alcohol awareness, education, and prevention for young people. You will also work closely with the MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime) youth-to-adult (Y2A) hub, providing support to young adults aged 18-25 who are also connected to probation services.

About the Role

• Support young people and young adults (18-25) from the point they engage with the service, through their entire journey.
• Work alongside the MOPAC Y2A hub, specifically supporting young adults involved with probation services.
• Provide screening, assessments, psychosocial interventions, care planning, and post-treatment support, ensuring seamless transitions in care.
• Respond effectively to safeguarding issues, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individuals you work with.
• Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm, helping create healthier communities.
• Advocate for access to relevant services, ensuring holistic outcomes in relation to health and well-being.
• Promote positive outcomes that enable young people to lead safer, healthier, and more purposeful lives, building resilience and reducing risks.

About You

• Experience working with young people, with a good understanding of the issues they face.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices, particularly concerning children and young people, including the Fraser Competence framework.
• Strong understanding of drug and alcohol-related issues and experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of best practices in substance misuse treatment services, especially in relation to young people.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a high level of IT proficiency.
• Team-oriented with a cooperative, supportive approach to achieving service objectives.

As we develop our next five-year strategy we are looking to refine our campaigning and organising practice and grow our membership base to secure long lasting victories in our campaigns for health justice. 

About the role 

The new Executive Director will be responsible for leading the organisation in developing a new strategy to guide us through the next phase growth, while leading the team through an new political climate.

Grants fundraising is of particular importance to the role, and the successful candidate will be the lead person responsible for securing funding for our campaigning and organising work and maintaining strong relationships with donors. 

Our Executive Director will lead an experienced team and an organisation that deeply values collaborative working, consultative decision making, and a commitment to transparency. 

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about addressing health, climate, racial and economic injustice and the health impacts of conflict and militarisation, and who understands the vital role that health professionals have in making the connections between these issues and working for peace, to make the world a better, fairer and safer place.

You will have an understanding of the national and international framework within which Medact operates, and you will be able to demonstrate that your values and politics align with those of our organisation. Ideally you will have experience of working in health or with health workers, so that you have an appreciation of the culture within which they work and the potential of their contribution.

You will have strong leadership skills so that, valuing the collaborative approach of our team and respecting varying views, you are able to arrive at clear decisions. You will also have a track record in fundraising in similar fields and a good knowledge of a range of potential supporters.
