Who will I be changing the lives of?
All of our learners have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and as a result all have some level of additional need. Some of the most common areas of need that we see are Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH), Autism (ASC), ADHD although we work with learners with a much broader range of needs.
We currently have projects in Rotherham, Barnsley, London and The Midlands.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver quality on-site youth work to help all our young people overcome multiple complex educational barriers.
- Responsible for the planning and delivery of Maths and/or English Functional Skills lessons in line with the NCFE curriculum
- To deliver and implement teaching and learning practices to raise student standards and progress
- To develop and deliver high quality teaching materials and schemes of learning that keep students engaged using creativity, differentiation and extension tasks
- Plan effectively to ensure pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential, taking account of the needs of pupils who are underachieving, those that are able and those that are excelling
- To meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and in collaboration with the SENCO to prepare, implement, monitor and review Individual Educational Packages.
- To provide a high-quality student experience that enables students to succeed beyond their expectations
- Promote Inclusion best practice and contribute to the aims and ethos of the college
- Working with students from Pre-Entry to Level 2
- Responsible for comprehensive marking and written and verbal feedback for students
- Working in conjunction with the Outstanding and Good criteria for OFSTED
- To participate in weekly group engagement activities such as bowling, nature walks, climbing, graffiti workshops etc to ensure you build a strong rapport with all students.

About the service
Children and young people who are looked after don’t always have a trusted adult that they can rely upon for support, with many young people not having someone that they can talk to or trust.
Our independent visitor service provides looked after children and young people with an adult volunteer who spends time with them, offering support and friendship whilst being a positive role model to enable young people to build on their confidence and self-esteem, whilst helping learn new skills and raise their aspirations.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic IV Coordinator who will be responsible for the day to day running of the independent visitor service in Solihull and Bedford, splitting your time between these two services working 27 hours for Solihull and 8 hours for Bedford.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a pool of volunteers which includes the recruitment, training, and induction of new volunteers to become volunteer independent visitors, before matching them with a young person who has been referred to the service.
You will provide continuous support to volunteers to ensure that the service is being delivered to a high standard, and that children and young people are safeguarded at all times.
You will also be responsible for monitoring volunteer visits, budgets and ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken as required, whilst acting as a link between NYAS and the local authority by liaising with social workers, carers and other professionals.

Your primary role will be to support the development of good quality voluntary provision for children, young people and families. As part of a countywide team, you will be expected to actively support the planning of countywide programmes/events with your colleagues, providing opportunities and training on SCVYS objectives.
The key purpose of the Service Impact & Youth Engagement Manager role is to proactively support the delivery of a range of service functions that meet the needs of and promote growth within the voluntary and community sector in Staffordshire, specifically services focused on children, young people and families. 1. Support the SCVYS team to work to agreed key performance indicators including outcomes aligned to the SCVYS Strategic Plan and various contract delivery plans. Utilising the Lamplight Case Management System aligned to the Value of Infrastructure Programme functions.
2. Regularly reporting on all relevant performance information to a variety of funders including Staffordshire County Council, the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, the Young Foundation and the Integrated Care Board in line with agreed timescales and contract monitoring requirements.
3. Alongside SCVYS managers support and contribute to all elements of internal Quality Assurance ensuring SCVYS remains committed to excellence across everything we do and all we say about what we do.
4. Line management of the Youth Engagement team including an exciting portfolio of programmes including UK Youth Parliament, Young Community Researchers, elected Countywide Youth Council, Summer War Graves project and any other pieces of commissioned work, alongside partners including Staffordshire University, Staffordshire County Council and the German War Graves Commission (Volksbund).
5. Contribute where required to any additional externally commissioned work that includes research, consultation and evaluation elements as and when required within capacity limitations.
6. Take a lead in designing the look and content of publications such as the Annual Report, Social Value Report, etc. and supporting the updating of the State of the Sector report published approximately every 4-5 years.
