We are seeking an experienced fundraiser to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives. The post-holder will lead on growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling operational duties, such as overseeing a fit-for-purpose database.

This is a new role with a significant input into our plans and strategies for the future. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and oversee most fundraising income generation.

The Fundraiser will build positive relationships to secure significant income, develop links specifically with churches and individuals and bring in regular/targeted income through recurring donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Churches, Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating campaigns). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we serve.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work with Senior Leadership Team to develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for Pecan.
• Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to Pecan’s supporters.
• Assist with setting up a CRM database with responsibility and maintaining appropriate data capture for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
• Work with Senior Leadership to develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
• Pioneer and develop a broad range of relationships with churches, organisations, and denominations across Southwark, with support from the CEO.

Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):

• Experience of all fundraising methods

• Experience working on either eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce or Donorfy CRM systems

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans and strategies to achieve revenue targets and support the Flint House strategic plan and mission.

Qualifications and Experience

• Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, business administration, marketing, or a related field (master's degree preferred). Membership with the Institute of Fundraising.
• Significant experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or related field, with a proven track record of success in meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts -  annual fundraising income of upward of £1 million.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate the charity's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising appeals, grant proposals, and other donor communications.
• Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in donor management software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant fundraising tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices, ethical guidelines, and regulations governing charitable organisations.
• Working knowledge of marketing communications strategy and donor engagement.
• Proven line manager and demonstrated ability to work across all levels within Flint House to support and drive our fundraising efforts.

The Magpie Project supports women with preschool children who are living in temporary or insecure accommodation in Newham and other London boroughs. We provide stay-and-play sessions alongside casework around housing, immigration, and other related issues, plus healthy home-made food, a baby bank, and a focus on high-quality play and creativity for mums and minis to foster a sense of joy and belonging.
We advocate and campaign, alongside our mums, on the issues which have the greatest impact on their lives. We have grown quickly since our birth in 2017, and we now support over 500 families a year with 11 members of staff and a turnover of approximately £500,000 pa.

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Office Administrator to join our team. Tenebrae is one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles, renowned for its core values of passion and precision. Since the choir began in 2001, we have aimed to move and inspire audiences all over the world through dramatic programming and immersive experiences. 

The choir performs around 60 concerts each year across the UK, Europe, the US and further afield, including at some of the world’s most prestigious concert venues and festivals. Alongside its busy concert and recording schedule, the ensemble delivers a rapidly growing Learning & Connection programme, working with hundreds of children, young people and amateur singers across schools and other community settings. In the past 5 years Tenebrae’s programme of activities has grown considerably, but in order to maintain this we now need to grow all areas of our fundraising. For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to make a transformational difference to Tenebrae’s artistic scope and financial sustainability as we approach our 25th anniversary in the 2026-27 season.

The Development Manager will be responsible for:

• Working with the CEO to refresh and implement our 3-year fundraising strategy;
• Fundraising from Trusts, Foundations, individuals and corporates to support the charity’s core costs as well as artistic and educational initiatives;

Location 

After an initial period of office-based training, we are happy to consider flexible and remote working in order to facilitate other commitments such as caring responsibilities, although ideally you will be based in our office in Hammersmith for at least 2 days per week.

Hours

We are advertising this as a full-time position at 35 hours per week plus a one-hour lunch break each day. The role sits within the BSSS office in the School of Water, Energy and Environment.

About You

Educated to degree level or equivalent you will be an established Policy and Public Affairs professional, with good attention to detail, agile in approach with excellent communication and influencing skills. 

Passionate about the natural environment you will place the Society at the centre of debate, advocating best practice around soil science and land use management across government departments and cross sector actors. 

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of coordinating and delivering policy responses, working with internal and external stakeholders in the development of policy and projects, and raising awareness of an organisation’s profile with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers.

You must have the ability to assimilate complex policy topics quickly, a solid understanding of political and policy processes, and be an excellent communicator.

The ideal person will also have sound research and project management skills, along with experience working for a membership body, an established network and relevant knowledge of environment policy led issues.

The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) was founded in 1947 by eminent British soil scientists with the aims of advancing the study of soil; being open to membership from all those with an interest in the study and uses of soil; and issuing an annual publication.

Nowadays BSSS is an established international membership organisation and charity committed to the study of soil in its widest aspects. With over 900 members, it is funded primarily through income from publications and subscriptions. The Society acts as a forum for the exchange of ideas and provides a framework for representing the views of soil scientists to other organisations and decision-making bodies. It promotes research by organising several events and conferences each year and by the publication of its two scientific journals, the European Journal of Soil Science (EJSS), and Soil Use and Management (SUM), in partnership with Wiley. The Society has a regular and varied programme of scientific conferences on a wide range of soil-related issues and hosted the World Congress of Soil Science in 2022, Glasgow on behalf of the International Union of Soil Sciences.

About the role

Project Scotland, part of the national charity Volunteering Matters, supports young people to get on in life through the power of volunteering.  Brighter futures work with pupils (aged 13-16), we offer disadvantaged pupils struggling to engage with the regular school curriculum the opportunity to undertake a volunteering placement as well as the option of having a mentor.  We support and empower pupils to gain skills and confidence in a new environment within the wider community, promoting a sense of belonging, whilst extending horizons and aspirations.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and compassionate Youth Engagement Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values.

This role will be working in partnership with St Thomas of Aquins R.C High School, we have been delivering Brighter Futures here for two years and have funding till June 2025.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities

• To build relationships with secondary school pupils, particularly those on flexible timetables, who have complex and challenging barriers, acting in a non-judgemental way to support them through their Brighter Futures journey
   
• Consistently role modelling and displaying Volunteering Matters organisational values

• Deliver and develop the Brighter Futures Schools programme within in St Thomas of Aquins R.C High School, meeting ambitious targets and milestones, ensuring all young people engaged achieve positive outcome.

• Provide pre and post volunteering practical and emotional support to each pupil, helping to build their confidence and identify achievable goals as well support the pupil to complete awards and qualifications linked to their volunteering.

• Engaging with current charity partners, not for profit organisations and social enterprises and developing new ones in line with our Best Practice for under 16’s volunteering. 

• Develop diverse, high quality and bespoke volunteer placements with third sector partners that reflect the needs and interests of pupils.

• Effective recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing support of a diverse pool of talented and dedicated volunteer mentors from a wide cross-section of the community

• To maintain Volunteering Matters standards around quality and effective Volunteer Management

• To manage all elements of a young person’s experience, from referral to completion of their journey, including managing the match with their mentor.

• To manage the risk assessment, safeguarding, quality assurance and audit processes as appropriate

• Ensure monitoring, impact and evaluation information is collected and that Brighter Futures meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.

• Administration tasks including maintaining effective and accessible records, the use of Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom and other software such as Canva (use to develop relevant promotional material and information)
