As Camden Short Breaks Coordinator, you will be responsible for our delivery of person-centred home- based and community-based outreach support for children and young people living in the borough, ensuring that our service is of the highest quality and meets all CQC standards and contract requirements.

This role involves line managing a team of support workers and positive behavioural support (PBS) workers, liaising with the local authority and local schools, working in partnership with family carers and children and young people to deliver a high-quality service .

You would be joining us at a time when we have launched our new identity as the Leadership Skills Foundation (previously Sports Leaders) in August 2023, alongside building a new 5-year ‘Evolve’ strategy. Having navigated the challenges of the pandemic, the organisation has naturally placed an emphasis in recent years on retaining and sustaining the existing relationships we have with the 2,500 organisations (centres) that deliver our programmes.

Looking ahead, with new programmes and partnerships emerging, this role will now play a significant part in helping us understand the needs of young people, allow more centres to be able to deliver Leadership Skills Foundation programmes, and broaden the audiences we reach. Over the next few years, we aim to create an adaptable leadership skill offer that will increase our reach to more young people, fully establishing the Leadership Skills Foundation as the trusted voice for essential leadership skills development.

Having recently secured a strategic partnership with Sport England, this role will play a key part in conducting the research activities that are required to inform the Leadership Skills Foundation, and the wider sector, to empower a more diverse range of young people with opportunities to develop essential leadership and life skills, regardless of their background.

You will be a valued Research Executive within the ‘Programme Delivery’ team and support the Research Manager to develop future accessible and inclusive essential leadership programmes. A key focus for the research will be to understand the needs, barriers, and opportunities to support underserved and/or under-represented communities and individuals into sport leadership opportunities and into the workforce.

This role will require positive and proactive internal working relationships to be created with other teams and colleagues to support organisational objectives and goals.

Main duties and responsibilities 

• Support the research requirements of the Programme Delivery team’s strategic goals, and support research work across the organisation as required. This may include scheduling, conducting and transcribing interviews, cleaning data, coordinating focus groups, developing research tools and related tasks.
• Help develop research approaches appropriate to address strategic goals.
• Conduct both primary and secondary research using a range of methodologies.
• Support the presentation of research findings, by helping develop clear, actionable recommendations, and compelling presentations.
• Support the identification of new research and evaluation projects and approaches which address gaps in our current evidence base.
• Foster collaborative internal relationships to drive a culture of research driven decisions throughout the organisation.
• Support the building of relationships with external partners and funders and the communication of key findings where required.

Skills, experience and knowledge

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and committed Assistant Headteacher SENDCo at OA-North View, a new 30-place AP SEMH provision in Tilbury, Essex, planned to open in September 2025. Our ideal candidate would be an experienced teacher who will support whole-school SEND practice, developing partnerships with external agencies and parents/carers in supporting pupils with SEND.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the setup of the new provision, working with the Head of School, Executive Headteacher and other trust leaders to build a team, and plan and run a transition programme to support pupils and their families. Once open, you will support the day-to-day management and leadership of OA - North View by ensuring the vision and values of the trust are embedded and achieved. You will play a vital part in the school as a leader ensuring it is a beacon of best practice in the education and care of pupils who have experienced considerable difficulty in a mainstream school so that they can re-engage with education, make good progress, achieve academically, and, wherever possible, return to a mainstream education

You will be responsible for leading our external and internal communications, including our engagement with the education sector and the media, fundraising campaigns and communications with our volunteers and supporters. You will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that more schools, teachers, supporters and young people than ever are aware of, connected to, and supportive of our work.

The Private Sector Partnerships Division (PSP) sits within the Office of Partnerships, Advocacy and Communications under the overall oversight of the Director General. The PAGE Systems and Data team currently comprises a Head, Data Manager, Technical Analyst, Reporting & Data Analyst, Data Officer, two Data Assistants, and a Business Analyst. The existing PAGE CRM (Advance) has been in place for 20 years and no longer meets requirements. A project to replace the current CRM with Salesforce Education Cloud is now entering the implementation phase.

The Interim Head of Systems and Data will provide stable leadership and ensure business continuity during the implementation of the new CRM, while the permanent Head of Systems and Data, the Data Manager, the Technical Analyst, and the Business Analyst are seconded to this project. About the opportunity

The Birmingham Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to seven partner schools, attending and coordinating weekly tutoring sessions, developing relationships with pupils, school staff and volunteer tutors and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This role plays a crucial part in overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring sessions to ensure effective and impactful programme delivery.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage and effectively communicate with all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; leading weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of both face to face and online tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers.
• Update and maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and end of programme surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators.

Community Fundraising Officer, South 

Hours: Part-time – 21 hours per week

Location: Hybrid Working with a minimum of one day a week working from Head Office (based near the city in London)

Reports to: Community Fundraising Manager

Role purpose: To fundraise for The Sick Children’s Trust through varied community fundraising activities, including supporting family fundraising and third-party events in the south such as but not limited to The Royal Parks Half Marathon. The postholder will be required to forge and develop new fundraising opportunities and relationships with local businesses, community organisations and schools. Ensuring a sensitive and effective supporter journey for new and existing supporters.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Ø  To cultivate and recruit new and existing supporters and volunteers to participate in a range of third-party events including The Royal Parks Half Marathon and ‘run your own’ fundraising events. To uplift supporter value, steward and retain through the delivery of brilliant supporter care whilst being respectful of potential sensitivities particularly when working with families who are fundraising in memory

Ø  Build and develop trusted relationships when appropriate with families to support fundraising, storytelling and volunteering. Work sensitively and empathetically with this core audience group engendering their long-term support and advocacy of the Charity’s work.

Ø  Maintain contact with and work alongside the House Teams in London with a view to occasional working from the houses. Ensuring the House Teams are aware of any potential volunteering opportunities.

Ø   To work closely and collaboratively with the other two Community Fundraising Officer’s - one based in the south, one based in the north and the Fundraising Assistant based in the south.

Ø  To proactively target independent businesses (outside of corporate partnerships) and schools by going out regularly in the local Community to secure annual income targets set by the Head of Fundraising.

Ø  To develop and forge new and existing relationships with local clubs and associations to secure their support both financially and in raising awareness of the charity.

Ø  Leading on Supermarket charitable schemes, including research, support with copy and applications to reach targets set for this area of income.

Ø  Accurately record and monitor income and expenditure budgets for your area, spotting gaps in income and finding other ways to reach target set

Ø  Create and maintain supporter fundraising information on our Donorflex database to ensure it is up to date and accurate.

Ø   Communicate and work collaboratively with our Communications and Marketing team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for The Sick Children’s Trust Community Fundraising activities.

Ø   To work collaboratively with other fundraising departments and the Communications and Marketing team for effective integration of campaigns and activities.

Ø   To represent the charity as and when required to schools, local businesses and community groups in the South, including speaking at events when necessary.

Ø   Carry out office and general duties and tasks to ensure the effectiveness and smooth running of the post holder’s work, team and organisation.

The facilitator role is a freelance position. We offer flexible hours with delivery taking place during school hours/term time in schools, partner offices or community event spaces. 

Our priority areas for delivery are:

• Scotland
• Blackpool
• East of England (Norfolk, Peterborough)
• Liverpool 

This is due to demand from our schools network. Please only apply if you can reasonably travel within these locations to deliver workshops.

Safeguarding

The facilitator's responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young person’s for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the relevant Talent Foundry Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Procedures at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the role, the facilitator identifies any instance that a child is suffering or likely to suffer significant harm either at school or at home, they must report this in line with the Safeguarding policy. 

The facilitator will be subject to ID checks, enhanced DBS and criminal record checks.
