PURPOSE OF ROLE

Leadership of the fundraising function at Caudwell Youth. You will be responsible for our fundraising strategy, working with the CEO. You will take a personal lead on high value giving from Corporate and Major Donors.

Responsible as part of the Senior Leadership Team for the overall leadership of Caudwell Youth. Promoting the mission, vision and values of the charity, and the development and implementation of our strategic plan.

CORPORATE LEADERSHIP

• As part of the Senior Leadership Team work with the Board of Trustees to: develop and progress the organisation’s strategy, set and manage the organisation’s budget and ensure risks are managed effectively
• Lead by example, instilling a values-led and inclusive culture
• As part of the SLT work with and for young people to ensure Caudwell Youth makes the greatest possible difference to their lives.

FUNDRAISING LEADERSHIP

• Lead the development of the fundraising strategy to grow and diversify the charity’s income, with support from the CEO.
• Evolve our fundraising function to maximise benefit to the charity; developing additional or existing income streams as set out in the fundraising strategy, with support from the CEO
• Lead the implementation of the fundraising strategy, setting annual plans, income targets and budgets
• Establish and grow an effective, high-performing fundraising function. Provide effective leadership for the team (Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Assistant). Nurture and develop colleagues to achieve their potential.
• Ensure systems and processes are in place for effective management and development of the fundraising function, including compliance with the Fundraising Regulator and our policies.
• Manage the fundraising budget, reforecasting income and expenditure throughout the year and reporting progress to the SLT and the Board of Trustees.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities and adapt plans where appropriate.
• Be an ambassador for Caudwell Youth and support the CEO in this role
• Involve young people in fundraising developments and activities as appropriate, championing a collaborative and participatory culture.

HIGH VALUE GIVING

• Responsible for leading the development, and managing the delivery, of our major donor and corporate fundraising strategies
• Identify and engage potential new donors
• Ensure effective stewardship is in place to develop relationships with donors
• Be the lead contact with John Caudwell’s Charity Pioneer, supporting the recruitment and engagement of Life Changer Circle members.
• Support the CEO to develop and maintain the charity’s relationship with our founder, John Caudwell.
• Carry out due diligence on new funder relationships; being mindful of any risks to John Caudwell’s reputation in the course of fundraising activities and the wider charity’s work.
• Deliver sustainable income growth through a focus on development of a varied range of corporate partnerships.
• Responsible for proposal and application development for potential Corporate donors, taking a lead in pitches and negotiations with potential partners, coordinating input from colleagues.
• Work with Operations team and wider colleagues to develop engagement opportunities for Corporate Partners which are of mutual benefit.

TRUSTS, FOUNDATIONS AND INDIVIDUAL GIVING

• Support the Grants Manager to develop strategy and plans to maximise ROI from Trusts and Foundations.
• Oversee the grants pipeline, application process and procedures to ensure quality and compliance with financial and legal requirements.
• Work with Marketing team to support positive fundraising messaging through CY communications
• Work with Marketing team to support active challenge and community fundraising, ensuring that all our fundraisers are thanked and have appropriate donor journeys
• Support the Operations Director to grow income from statutory sources

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential skills and experience

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in fundraising, including a track record of securing high-value gifts of six figures.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering fundraising strategies, including corporate partnerships, major gifts, trusts, and foundations.
• Sound leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve targets. The Fundraising Director will manage a team of two within a wider organisation of 25 staff.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with donors, corporate sponsors, grant-making bodies, and stakeholders, including grassroots and volunteer-driven fundraising efforts.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience in budget management, financial forecasting, and reporting on fundraising performance, with a focus on KPIs and success metrics.
• Ability to set and achieve clear fundraising growth targets, ensuring alignment between current income portfolios and projected expansion.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft compelling fundraising proposals and cases for support.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations, data protection laws (GDPR), and ethical fundraising best practices.
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively with senior leadership teams to align fundraising activities with the charity’s mission and objectives.
• Knowledge of donor stewardship best practices, ensuring structured donor engagement journeys and retention initiatives.
• Experience of involving beneficiaries in fundraising strategy and activities

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of education. We need to inspire and connect with education leaders across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities

We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around education to reduce violence, including launching our new Education, Children and Violence Guidance in May 2024 which provides school, college and alternative provision leaders with five evidence-based recommendations to help prevent children’s involvement in violence. We also have our Toolkit, annual Children, Violence and Vulnerability Report and new implementation resources due next year. But the big risk is that we publish these resources and nothing changes. That’s where you come in.

Your role is to help us ensure more senior education leaders within schools, colleges and alternative provision settings use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:

• Developing great relationships and partnerships with executive and senior leaders in education, making connections and building credibility and trust with the sector.   
• Managing our new online digital self-assessment tool for sector leaders, driving awareness and engagement with education leaders and refining and optimising the system in collaboration with the software developers. 
• Synthesizing and analysing data from the self-assessment tool, using findings to produce value insights reports for YEF and the sector. 
• Creating implementation resources which respond to need and support education leaders to put evidence into practice. 
• Continuing to develop a strong understanding of education practice and policy across England and Wales. 
• Working out other effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then making those things happen, from regular virtual learning events to presentations.

You must have this sort of experience 

• Delivering positive change within education: You have significant experience of working with education leaders to support the development and improvement or practice.
• Working as a senior leader within the education sector, preferably in a role/setting specifically working with young people who are vulnerable to or involved in violence.

Hybrid Working

Are you a Solicitor with experience of housing and homelessness law and Legal Aid? If so then consider a move to Shelter you could soon be making a real difference to people affected by the housing emergency.

About the role

Using your legal expertise, you will play a key role in tackling housing in justice and unfair housing practices. You will be working under our Legal Aid contract, delivering legal advice and representing tenants at court where needed. Delivering systemic change through legal challenge to prevent homeless will also be a considerable part of the role. You will also work with the team in the Hub to help make sure people in the community are aware of their housing rights and how to enforce them, as well as providing support to Trainee Solicitors and Legal Advisers, ensuring good practice and compliance.

About You

Qualified as a Solicitor with at least three years post qualifying experience, you will have a strong knowledge of housing law and substantial experience of managing a wide range of housing cases. You have strong skills in court advocacy, litigation, report writing, file reviews and are able to meet financial targets. You will be able to meet the 2018 SQM supervisor standard in housing and be able to demonstrate experience of working under a legal aid contract.

About The Team

Our Legal Service provides specialist legal knowledge across Shelter through four teams covering Community Legal advice, Strategic Litigation, the National Legal Team and Legal Support Team. You will be part of our Community Legal Team, who are based across our 11 hub locations and work alongside hub colleagues every day to fight housing injustice and deliver systemic change relating to housing practice in our local communities.

Shelter Sheffield has a housing legal contract as well as a contract to deliver the County Court Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service at Sheffield and Doncaster. You will be based in the Sheffield community hub which has the overall aim of preventing homelessness and improving homelessness services for the people of South Yorkshire.

The advice and support team in Sheffield has been established for over 20 years, taking a holistic approach and focuses on emergency homelessness, support for children, families and people experiencing domestic abuse, as well as those with multiple and complex needs.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an Health Advocate Educator supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. 

The Health Advocate Educator will train and provide ongoing support to GP practices and other health professionals to enable primary and secondary care staff to be able to effectively talk to their patients about domestic violence and abuse (DVA), provide early identification and offer appropriate care pathways for female, male and non-binary survivors of domestic violence and abuse, aged 16 years and over and their children.

The post holder will work in partnership with the local ICB and the service manager to proactively develop and maintain links with health providers in the local area.The post-holder will work within a defined locality, either Stratford-upon-Avon District; North Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth, or Warwick District and Rugby borough; building links with health professionals and support agencies.  

Travel around Warwickshire for client appointments essential to role, therefore use of a car essential.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Safeguarding: 

The role-holder will have experience working according to ethical and good practice safeguarding principles. How Will you Make a Difference?  

The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide high-level administrative support to Amna’s CEO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board of Trustees. This includes administrative help such as managing calendars, drafting communications and briefings, planning, and organising meetings, inbox support, travel, office administration and personal assistance. It also includes working on and managing special projects including research, data analysis, preparation for public speaking, writing and research. 

This dynamic and creative position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills including strong written and verbal skills, the ability to work with little supervision, and manage simultaneous priorities within the leadership team.

Key areas of responsibilities: 

CEO/SLT Support 

• Work closely with the CEO to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Act as a "barometer", staying attuned to the internal and external environment and keeping the CEO updated on relevant issues. 

• Anticipate the needs of the CEO and SLT in advance of meetings, conferences, and public appearances.

About the role

As an Engagement Worker, you will be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of a new Housing First team in South Tyneside, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. As the team is new you will need to form links with partner organisations and agencies and your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First, supporting five clients at any one time.

About you

You will need experience of support work, a proven ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, especially substance misuse services, health and probation and people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have an awareness of working in a trauma informed, strengths based approach to help people with multiple disadvantage, as well as having experience of writing and implementing person centred support plans and writing detailed case-notes.  Also, you have flexible time management skills and are comfortable collaborating with people from other teams and organisations.

EduSpots is a dynamic, community-driven UK and Ghana-registered charity that connects, trains, and equips volunteer community educators (known as ‘Catalysts’) to drive grassroots educational change. About the Role

EduSpots is seeking a Global Philanthropy Manager—an engaging, dynamic, and proven fundraising specialist who will play a key part in our next phase of growth. As we continue to expand, we need an individual with a track record of securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally at the 5- to 6-figure level (GBP), and the ability to cultivate new funding partnerships.

In the past two years, we have doubled our income and expanded our programmes significantly. This exciting role will develop and bring together our policy and public affairs work from across all four nations of the UK to drive better understanding and action on public mental health.

What does the role involve?​

• Working with our Head of Policy and Heads of Nations to design and help implement our UK policy and public affairs programme.
• Working collaboratively with teams across the UK to align our policy goals, taking into account different contexts in each of the nations.
• Influence and inform policy-makers, opinion-formers, professional bodies and politicians to support and promote public mental health.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?​

• Strong intellectual, analysis and influencing skills.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker and Deputy Team Manager to join our Support Team. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring the highest quality of service delivery in line with Baca's vision, mission, and values. This role involves supporting the team manager in day-to-day operations, decision-making, and problem-solving to achieve key outcomes for young people. These include improved physical and emotional wellbeing, increased engagement with education, employment, and training, social engagement, and personal safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the support team to deliver high-quality services to young people.
• Support the team manager in daily operations and decision-making.
• Organise and coordinate meetings to achieve desired outcomes.
• Lead decision-making about young people's progress and transitions.
