Causeway Education is a charity supporting young people to overcome barriers in accessing Higher Education and apprenticeships. Overview
JOB TITLE: Programmes Officer
LOCATION: Home-based with bi-monthly team meetings in London. Some travel within the UK will be expected.
SALARY: £26,471- £28,683 (depending on skills and experience)

Main duties
Programme Support
-
Provide support across Causeway's broad portfolio of programmes, such as online mentoring, insight days, work experience weeks and university and employer outreach schemes

Organise programme-related events, such as workshops/webinars

Deliver online and in-person workshops to students and stakeholders, alongside other members of the Programmes Team

Look after our shared inboxes and share queries with relevant team members

Support the collection of information as part of programme reporting requirements

Support in the design and creation of new programme resources

Support other team members with management of external communications including the Causeway website, Twitter account and newsletters

This is a role within the charity with the purpose of developing our digital communications to increase awareness of our vital work with people with brain injuries and to grow our supporter/ donor base to help fund this work.
Main purpose of this role:
The focus of this new role will be on digital fundraising and communications initiatives and raising the profile of the charity across the Thames Valley. An important aspect of the role will be to contribute to the delivery of the digital fundraising strategy to diversify our income streams, creating regular online giving, increasing the donor base in a way that is long term and sustainable. The post holder will organise an agreed portfolio of events and campaigns – with a specific focus on digital initiatives and virtual events – to generate income and build more awareness which will enable Headway Thames Valley to support more people affected by brain injuries. The role will also help to develop consistent messaging to be used across the wider charity to raise awareness of our vital work and communicate our need for donations.

Principal tasks and accountabilities:
Organising Campaigns and Events
Devise engaging digital awareness raising campaigns to appeal to wide range of new and existing supporters.
Create content showcasing all Headway Thames Valley services.
Plan, deliver and manage fundraising events & campaigns, both online/ virtual and offline – to generate funds and raise awareness of Headway Thames Valley’s work.
Create compelling cases for support for use on digital platforms.
Draft and manage e-newsletters and email communications to individual supporters.
Ensure consistent communications messaging across all platforms for all stakeholders.
Co-ordinate the production of fundraising and other information materials.
Identify opportunities to market new and existing events outside the existing supporter base, for instance, social media and local media.
Manage virtual fundraising events and projects within timeframe and budget.
Develop good working relationships for Headway Thames Valley with relevant event promotion companies and other suppliers.
Development and Stewardship of supporters
Motivate supporters in their efforts to raise funds for Headway Thames Valley.
Attract new supporters and new audiences to engage with existing and new fundraising initiatives.
Assist supporters by providing suitable materials tailor made to their needs.
Maintain contact and do everything possible to ensure their experience is positive and that we retain them as supporters and for future events.
Be alert to potential clashes of interest or ethos which might be of a sensitive nature to Headway Thames Valley.
Planning
Investigate and implement new opportunities for digital fundraising initiatives.
Prioritise activities to maximise opportunities.
Contribute to the long term development plans as part of the wider team.
Maintain a diary of events and action points ensuring that others can see progress on any one event at any time.
Ensure that all fundraising for events complies with charity law, by asking for support from the wider team appropriately.

About the Role:
Based in the office, you will be the first point of contact for many children, young people and their families seeking counselling services. The Operations Volunteering Experience Coordinator helps people with sight loss live the life they choose by ensuring volunteers in Operations-based roles are set up for success by preparing and training them for their role. Once in their role, they will support a positive volunteering experience by working to retain, further utilize and develop our volunteers in their role and wider into the Guide Dog family and community. Street Paws is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 2016 with the aim of providing free and accessible veterinary care and support services to pets of homeless people in the UK. We strive to bridge the gap between animal and human welfare services. Ensuring that pets are not left behind in the fight against homelessness.

Context
The Fundraising Department exists to grow and deepen productive relationships with our amazing supporters. We are driven to raise the money and partnerships needed to deliver CAP’s vision to see transformed lives, thriving churches and an end to UK poverty. The Supporter Development team is made up of the Fundraising and Engagement Leads and Officer, and is led by the Supporter Development Manager. The team works alongside our Supporter Care and Connection teams, and Communications Department to deliver a fantastic and rewarding supporter experience. The team’s scope includes regular giving income, appeals, legacies, fundraising events, festivals, sponsored events, supporter campaigning and supporter experience. We have incredible and committed supporters including over 28,000 Life Changers, who give to us on a monthly basis.
Purpose
The Fundraising & Engagement Leads plan and deliver a portfolio of programmes and projects aimed at growing income and deepening relationships with our supporters. The Fundraising and Engagement Leads has strategic ownership for key areas of fundraising. They work with the Supporter Development Manager to set strategic direction for that area, creating annual plans that will deliver our objectives and key results, and monitoring and evaluating results. They work cross organisationally, creating strategies and projects that align with CAPs vision and integrated messaging. They manage projects from briefing and ideation, creation and delivery, to monitoring and evaluation, maintaining productive and professional cross-organisational working relationships. The Diocese of Guildford has an exciting part-time opportunity for a Community Lead to manage our Hear Here project.
The Hear Here Project is a community-focused initiative which involves collaboration between the Diocese, Parishes, NHS Audiology Departments and Sight for Surrey to assist those who wear an NHS-issued hearing aid with any technical issues at clinics run by trained hearing champions. The clinics helps to break the cycle of isolation often experienced by those with hearing loss.
The project, powered by volunteers, operates in parish churches and other community spaces, forming a key part of the diocese's "Growing Communities" strategy.
The role involves leading, managing, and ensuring the governance of Hear Here across the diocese. The Community Project Lead will work closely with volunteers, maintaining high clinic standards and fostering relationships with key partners to secure the project’s future and enhance its outreach potential.
Key Responsibilities include:
· Providing overall leadership and manage the daily activities of Hear Here.
· Promote the project across the diocese, ensuring it is recognised as a vital part of parish outreach and mission.
· Collect and analyse data from clinics for accurate and timely reporting.
· Respond to telephone and email enquiries, assisting new clients in accessing clinics and keep the online directory current.
· Identify, pursue, and secure ongoing funding to sustain and expand the project.
· Increase the visibility of Hear Here within the Diocese to expand the clinics and enhance their role in community outreach.
· Work with the NHS trusts to provide up-to-date training and support.
· Manage a team of volunteers to ensure clinics run consistently, safely, and according to required standards.
· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Administer and oversee project governance.
The successful candidate will need to hold a UK driving licence and have their own vehicle as the position requires travel around the diocese from time to time.

They will understand the importance of building positive engagement and relationships with the public and be committed to acting in the best interests of our charity partners.

About the role
Our dedicated team moderates our full-service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one-off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector.
This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9 am (or earlier), wrap up by 9 pm and adhere to our sub-three-hour response time.
Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third-sector comms experience.
As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

Managing your own time and work on own initiative

Working across a range of social media management tools

Responding/actioning to all comments and queries in under three hours

Maximising donations when required

Going above and beyond at all times to provide supporters with an incredible experience
Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday.
Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.
As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked.
Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

They will understand the importance of building positive engagement and relationships with the public and be committed to act in the best interests of our charity partners.
