Role Purpose
The BABCP is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards in Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies. Our independent panels play a crucial role in evaluating potential professional misconduct cases and voluntary self-disclosures across all membership categories.
We’re looking for dedicated professionals to join our Screening, Hearing, Health, or Appeals Panels to help uphold ethical practice and protect the public.
If you’re passionate about maintaining integrity in the field, consider becoming a Panel Member. Your contribution is vital to safeguarding standards and supporting ethical excellence.
The BABCP requires Panel Members to take part in a variety of independent panels to evaluate claims of potential misconduct or voluntary self-disclosure of wrongdoing involving all categories of BABCP members. The panel members may be required to sit on either the Screening, Hearing, Health or Appeals Panels.
Members of the panel are essential to the BABCP’s efforts to protect the public and uphold the highest standards of practice within the Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies.
Members of the panel need be able to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and the capacity to reach deliberative conclusions with consideration for others. They must be able to evaluate evidence with an open mind, whilst working co-operatively with others. Members will also need the ability to challenge and to be flexible and adaptive in their reasoning. They will need the capacity and attention to detail to sift through considerable documentation to be able to delineate the facts of the matter at hand. They will need an awareness of existing BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics. They will require outstanding communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with other members of the Panel, other Lay members and registrant members. The decision-making processes of the Panel Members could have significant ramifications for individual affected members complained against.
Panels are likely to meet using Microsoft Teams, but it is possible that hearings will take place either remotely or in person if necessary. The location of face-to-face meetings could vary across the country but please note that reasonable expenses are paid subject to BABCP’s expenses policy.
Remuneration
All Panel members will be appointed on a contract for service basis, initially for a three-year period. Fees are paid at varying rates for different types of panel hearing, with an hourly rate of £35. A maximum fee of £230 is paid for a full day hearing, and £115 per half day.
The BABCP is working to reduce the number of complaints received, so the number of days required will vary according to case numbers and panel availability. Consequently, no minimum number of days can be guaranteed.
Responsibilities
- To undertake all induction training, and any other training as required by BABCP.
- To actively participate in a range of disciplinary panels such as our Screening, Hearing, Health and Appeals Panel and to be effective, concise, equitable and consistent in all decisions made.
- To make sure that prior to the meeting or hearing, all of the evidence is thoroughly reviewed and carefully evaluated in preparation for any Panel Hearing.
- To ensure no discussion takes place regarding the substance of the complaint or disclosure prior to the Panel Hearing.
- To ensure there is absolute transparency in dealing with any disciplinary issues and ensuring that there is a full and frank disclosure of any actual or perceived conflict of interest in advance of the Hearing Panel meetings.
- To maintain the highest of confidentiality and discretion in all matters discussed.
- To ensure that all contributions to Panel Hearings are conducted in a sensitive and professional manner.
- To ensure all actions and comments are fully consistent with the principles of natural justice and in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
- To make clear and fair decisions and record those decisions in a report which can be understood by the parties and the public.
- To be able to provide a clear rationale for any decision made.
- To demonstrate equity, fairness and consistency in the application of BABCP’s procedures.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children a hope and a future. About the team
The Research Team works across Shelter to develop innovative research, analytics and insight to identify opportunities to influence, drive policy change and inform Shelter’s strategic direction.
The Research Team carries out a range of work to identify the nature and causes of housing and homelessness problems. This includes primary and secondary research, both conducted in-house and commissioned, into Shelter clients and the even greater number of people in housing need, many of which often don’t seek help. We also try to understand and anticipate future trends using analysis of government policy and economic data. All of this is combined to feed our policy influencing, public campaigning and service design and delivery.

About the role
Reporting to the Director of Young People, Volunteer & Business Support the postholder will provide our disbursed team of Growth & Development Workers with clear management, guidance, support and advice on growth, development, volunteer recruitment and retention. The role will coordinate and drive forward our work in these area, helping the Sea Cadets to make a difference to the lives of even more young people across the UK.

- Provide line management for the Project Coordinators, Growth & Development Team Leaders and through them the Growth & Development Workers.
- Providing both management support and technical advice on growth, development and volunteer recruitment, retention and support functions.
- Contribute to the strategic development and sustainable growth of The Sea Cadets nationally.
- Lead and manage the effective implementation of new and ongoing projects that support outreach, growth, development, volunteer and/or cadet recruitment and retention, including but not limited to externally funded projects, liaising with and reporting to funders as required
- Support and advise employees, volunteers and others on the growth and development of the Sea Cadets.

This is an exciting new role to both support the coordination of existing ‘leaders in advocacy network’ and to coordinate and lead the project developing a membership body for the group to transition to. The postholder will work with the Advocacy Programme Lead, members of the leader’s network and other key stakeholders to understand what is most needed from a membership/professional body for advocacy providers, develop and launch that offer.
Our nationally recognised advocacy programme seeks to support best practice in the commissioning and delivery of independent advocacy, so that people who draw on advocacy get the support they want and need, in the way they want and need it, when they want and need it.
The role is a 12 month fixed-term contact and there will be a review at the end of 12 months to review the feasibility of continuation of the contract.
Role descriptions
Project Coordination
- Update and deliver project plan putting in place effective project management systems and processes
- Report on progress, risk and issues and work with the Advocacy Programme Lead to address
- Work with Advocacy programme Lead to coordinate and manage the project as a whole, working with network members and other stakeholders to develop and deliver against project plan
- Proactively plan and attend network meeting programme, and task and finish groups, working with partners and stakeholders including agenda setting and note taking
- Set up and maintain a members and stakeholders contact list (CRM system)
- Provide constructive and regular communications to network members and Partner organisations
- Actively seek to improve key programme business processes, seeking innovative solutions, updating and streamlining on an ongoing basis to make them more accessible and realise efficiencies
- Ensure the safe and secure handling of personal or sensitive data, making sure arrangements are always compliant with NDTi’s policies and the Data Protection Act (GDPR). Update Data Sharing Agreements with Partners and ensure the relevance and accuracy of Privacy Policies for network members. You will be the key contact for compliance and breach reporting, escalating to the nominated Data Controller where necessary
- Coordinate additional meetings and conferences as required
Relationship management and representation
- Build and maintain relationships with core advocacy leader network members
- Act as key point of contact for the project with advocacy providers and stakeholders
- Develop new relationships across the sector with leaders, policy experts and wider stakeholders
- Lead on regular communications and transparency across network
- Manage stakeholder expectations being aware of potential areas of conflict or differences in opinion
- Attend and contribute to external meetings with various partners, influencing processes, capturing and completing actions
- Create a range of documents, resources, and systems, negotiating deadlines and responsibilities.
- Work in ways that ensure the project maintains a reputation for high quality delivery and support
- Set up and manage a member’s online space
Research and Feasibility
In partnership with the advocacy Programme Lead design and carry out an options appraisal to understand and present options and associated costs and methodologies for delivery of an advocacy membership body. This will include, but not be limited to:
- Exploring different models of membership bodies

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team’s core purpose is to provide support, guidance, and assurance of the delivery of the National Fire Chiefs Council’s (NFCC) national programmes and projects by providing specialist expertise, knowledge, and facilitation across the portfolio. The team ensures proper governance procedures are in place and that project/programme methodologies are embedded and adhered to.
The PMO is also the central point of contact for the Project/Programme Managers, assisting with the management of their projects as well as acting as a critical friend to challenge and scrutinise to ensure that they are adhering to processes and providing information in a timely manner for internal and external reporting to internal boards and the Home Office.
As Portfolio Co-Ordinator you will be responsible for the administration needs of the Portfolio Office and providing additional ad hoc admin support to Programme teams.
You will be responsible for dairy management and event organisation for the PMO for workshops and training sessions, this will involve booking travel and accommodation.
The post-holder will provide support to the Head of Portfolio and Planning with secretariat support, providing support with the PMO reporting and monitoring function to all programmes and Portfolio administrative tasks.
Key responsibilities:
Provide direct secretarial support to Head of Portfolio and Planning including drafting of correspondence, diary management and co-ordination, administrative tasks.

Research and compiling data for portfolio and projects ad-hoc, liaising with key stakeholders internal and external.
Managing documents and files in the SharePoint environment ensuring the Information Management framework is implemented.
The successful candidate will:
Have a keen understanding and use of o365, SharePoint and Microsoft Suite, Excel and Word in particular.
Be able to demonstrate high levels of literacy, numeracy, accuracy, communication and writing skills with a strong attention to detail.

Overall Duties of the Commercial Bid Writer & Fundraiser will include:
- Taking the lead in identifying, coordinating, and managing tendering opportunities, processes, and contracts for TACT.

The post holder will provide high quality support and safety planning to survivors and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. This includes enabling survivors to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.
The Floating Support Worker (FSW) will carry a caseload of survivors of domestic abuse to enable them to provide a more holistic and intensive support package. They will work closely with survivors from the point of crisis through to move on from the emergency accommodation. FSWs will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the whole range of survivors’ needs are met.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
