About the role
It’s an exciting time to join CXK as we continue to expand our reach and launch our new 5-year strategy. We are searching for a dynamic Director of Services to drive operational excellence and quality across our diverse portfolio of services.
The Director of Services will lead CXK’s full suite of operational services to young people and adults across diverse contracts, including the National Careers Service, targeted support programmes, and employability initiatives.
This role is crucial in driving high-quality delivery, managing performance against contract KPIs, and ensuring that all services meet CXK’s standards and have a real impact on our beneficiaries.
The Director will oversee two Assistant Directors, empowering their teams to deliver consistently excellent service.
Representing CXK as a visible and proactive leader, the Director will strengthen relationships with commissioners, local authorities, and other key stakeholders, ensuring CXK’s reputation remains strong.
Additionally, this role involves overseeing compliance, safeguarding, and health and safety across all services. The Director will also be responsible for mobilising new contracts and collaborating closely with the Director of Business Development to drive growth and innovation in CXK’s provision and services.
Who we are looking for
You’ll be a visible, resilient and passionate leader, able to engage teams and provide strong oversight on quality, financial sustainability, safeguarding, and compliance across all service areas.
The ideal candidate will bring senior-level operational leadership experience, ideally within services for young people, adults or vulnerable groups, a strategic vision, and the ability to inspire and lead geographically dispersed teams.
You will have a strong track record of managing complex, multi-service staff teams and programmes across the charity, education, or government sectors, deep understanding of government contracts and performance-driven programmes and stellar relationship-building skills.
Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and strategic financial planning are essential to ensure sustainability and growth.

As a Family Separation Mentor, you will be providing emotional support and guidance to dads who are going through family separation, navigating child-arrangements within the family court system and need support with their mental well-being; especially those who may be experiencing suicidal ideation.
You will manage a caseload of clients and offer guidance with goal setting, communication skills, understanding their situation, planning child arrangements and preparing for family court proceedings, as well as building a positive co-parenting relationship.

About the role
As Strengths and Assets Coach, you will work alongside people who have experienced homelessness to develop their personal Strengths and Assets. The goal of the work is to create a sustainable housing situation by promoting strong community links, access to training and development, employment, leisure, and volunteering opportunities.
You will use and develop a range of coaching and learning skills and techniques to facilitate person centred progression plans, using a psychologically informed approach that leads to positive change. You will work with members to build their confidence and capacity to access wider community resources and become active citizens. You will also develop and deliver a range of engaging formal and informal learning, that is person centred in employability, volunteering, tenancy skills and personal development.
The role is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in the development of Strengths and Assets Services at Crisis Edinburgh Skylight. This will involve working with partners across a range of sectors to develop learning and participation activities.
Skills, knowledge and experience vital to succeeding in this role:
- Experience in community education, tenancy skills development, volunteering, training, tenancy sustainment, or group work.
- Experience of working alongside marginalised groups and individuals using a coaching approach to develop strengths and assets.

Development and Renumeration
We are committed to the development of our staff and there are plenty of opportunities for growth at Hampton Trust, our roles range from a Band 6 (entry level) to Band 1 (Chief Executive) and we offer continuous training to support you in your development.
This role is a Band 6 and is offered on a part time basis of 22.5 hours across 3 days and requires a minimum of two days in either our Ashurst office in Southampton or at one of our co-location venues across Hampshire.

The NSPCC’s purpose is to prevent child abuse and neglect of children across the UK and Channel Islands. We have been fighting for childhood for the last 130 years and our organisational strategy for 2021-2031 is enabling the NSPCC to achieve greater change for children and inspiring others to join us in the fight for childhood.
Our services help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening. We work directly with children and families through our national and regional hubs across the UK and Channel Islands. We also give support to thousands of adults and young people in need through the NSPCC Helpline and Childline. We work with schools up and down the country through our Speak Out Stay Safe programme, helping children to keep themselves safe. And our projects such as Together for Childhood help children who’ve experienced abuse, support parents and work to transform the way communities come together to prevent child cruelty.
The NSPCC is delivering our Letting the Future In service within The Lighthouse in Camden, the UK’s first Child House. This multi-disciplinary innovative service provides physical and emotional health assessment, criminal justice and advocacy support and a range of therapeutic interventions to children and young people, following the disclosure of sexual abuse.
Letting the Future In includes: -
·An Assessment of Therapeutic Need
·Intervention to the child or young person who has been sexually abused, where appropriate
·Work with parents/carers to support children though their interventions
·Bespoke interventions with siblings who have been impacted by their sister/brother’s abuse.
·This whole family approach reflects the impact that child sexual abuse can have within a family.

Provide direct services to children, families, carers or adults working in an inter-agency context where activities will be complex and where there is a requirement to take considerable responsibility and work autonomously.

Main duties and responsibilities
·Provide direct services (on an individual or group work basis) for children, their families, carers and adults maintaining professional practice standards as outlined in legislation, guidance and consistent with NSPCC practice standards and guidance.
·Hold case accountability for a number of cases most of which will be complex, ensuring all safeguarding practice and case recording conforms to NSPCC practice standards and guidance. Provide professional advice to internal and external enquires.
·Liaise and work positively with partner agencies and respectfully challenge where necessary in order to promote the best interest of children.
·Involve service users in planning, decision making and evaluation and promote the participation of Children and Young People.
·Plan and deliver services and contribute to their evaluation and ensure that issues of diversity and inclusion are identified and addressed in accordance with equal opportunity practices.
·Develop and maintain professional relationships and work in partnership with other agencies in order to deliver effective services and attend a range of internal and external meetings as required.
·Actively prepare for and participate in supervision, team meetings, briefings and training events and contribute to the development of learning materials or other resources.

Person specification
1. A recognised social work qualification and registration with the relevant social care county within the UK.
2. Experience of direct prevention work with children and their families and proven ability in identifying risk and initiating child protection interventions, informed by a good knowledge of best practice, research and legislation.
3. Experience and proven ability of working in a way that reflects a child centered approach and an understanding of children’s rights, participation, needs, best interests and safeguarding practice.
4. Ability to plan appropriate direct work and evaluate effectiveness.
5. Evidence of an ability to develop and maintain professional relationships including with other child protection agencies and supporters and experience of effective multi-agency working.
6. Experience and proven ability to champion equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and the ability to present the NSPCC to internal and external audiences.
