About the role
The Finance Director (“FD”) will oversee the financial activities of the charity and will be responsible for overseeing the charity’s finances and finance team, driving financial planning and managing financial risks.
The FD will need to have the ability and confidence to apply judgement and leadership skills to make sure that the charity executes strategies and plans in a timely and thorough manner.
This is a 12-month contract starting Autumn 2024, ideally 20 hours/week, but we would consider other working patterns for the right candidate.
The permanent FD role is subject to a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian due to our ethos and the strategic nature of the role however, given the temporary nature of this appointment, we have removed the requirement, although still desirable. We instead are looking for a candidate who is sympathetic to the Christian faith and/or our ethos.
The salary for this role is £44,000-£50,000 (plus pension and expenses) full-time-equivalent, dependent on experience.
The role will be based at The King’s Centre in Osney Mead, Oxford, but will involve some travel around Oxfordshire and can also include some homeworking.
Key relationships
On a day-to-day basis, you will be working with a range of team leaders, including our chair of trustees, Executive Officer, Operations Director, church leaders, school principal, chair of The King’s Centre Limited, and the finance team.
You will attend the Strategic Oversight Group, comprising a handful of these team leaders, who work collaboratively on charity-wide goals and challenges.
Responsibilities
Financial
- Developing and controlling the operational budget, in conjunction with the Finance, Risk & Audit Committee.
- Overseeing and managing the Finance Team, empowering the finance team with the leadership and resources they need.
- Reviewing the efficiency of the charity’s financial processes and taking steps to improve them.
- Ensuring that the necessary funding has been resourced to facilitate operational growth.
- Ensuring that an effective remuneration system is in place for employees, in conjunction with the Operations Director and Remuneration Committee.
- Providing advice and support on financial matters to all operational areas of the charity and its subsidiaries.
Governance
- Acting as the charity’s main advisor on all issues relating to financial functions.
- Together with the Operations Director, supporting trustees in developing governance functions.
- Any other duties commensurate to the role as directed by the Executive Officer.

● Board of Trustees, Advisory Committees and Sub-Committees: Assist the Chair and Secretary in recruiting and onboarding new Trustees; ensure effective support for AH’s Board and Advisory and Sub-Committees; attend Board meetings and facilitate sound advice to the Management Committee, foster communication between Board and operational staff, and ensure the effective implementation of Board decisions.

This position is full-time, permanent, and based in the ADI office in London. Some international travel for several days at a time will be required. Remote or international applicants may be considered for this role depending on circumstances.

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.
Consists of working 5 days a week across all days, 8 hours shifts starting at either 8am or 2pm.

This is a critical senior role in the organisation, reporting to the CEO. The role is responsible for managing the organisation’s programmes across 3 locations in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia, managing 10 personnel. IBIS House MH Step Down & Crisis
Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need, and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be expected to undertake some duties as part of the management team which may include supporting the team with their responsibilities whilst working flexibly to respond to the needs of your own customer case load. Key Responsibilities

Respond to all safeguarding concerns and incidents, supporting victims and survivors, advising staff and volunteers, and overseeing safeguarding agreements. Be visible and accessible to cathedral staff and volunteers, helping them recognise, response, and properly record all concerns, and determining what referrals are necessary. Provide focussed support where there is frequent engagement with young people and vulnerable adults including:

To undertake casework as necessary, including:

Ambition Aspire Achieve was founded in 2016 by Kevin Jenkins OBE, because of a longstanding desire to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people. We deliver a wide range of projects and services based out of our youth hubs, the Terence Brown Arc in the Park in Canning Town and the Glyn Hopkin Abbey Hub in Stratford, and across local communities in Newham via a programme of detached outreach work. Starting early, we work with children as young as 5 years old, right up to 25 as young people transition into early adulthood. Reflecting our approach that every young child and person deserves the best chance in life, our work now reaches over 950 children and young people every year, including large numbers who are vulnerable and at-risk.
The Role
The role offers an exciting opportunity to join AAA’s management and coordination team, playing a key part in supporting vulnerable young people to reach their full potential, whilst making a significant contribution to the development of our youth programmes. Recruited on a full-time basis (with part time options considered), responsibilities include:
- Developing, overseeing and delivering youth projects and programmes based out of AAA’s youth hubs, ensuring project milestones, outputs and outcomes are met or exceeded in line with funding agreements.
- Monitoring and evaluating our targeted youth projects and programmes, providing reports to the Chief Executive, Board of Trustees and key funders as required.
- Leading and line managing a small team of youth workers, enabling the delivery of high-quality youth work programmes
- Taking a lead on developing youth voice and involvement and supporting peer leaders.
- Working collaboratively with key partners (e.g., schools, community stakeholders) to support the recruitment of young people and the effective delivery of provision.
- Developing mentoring activities for young people, and supporting the delivery of life-skills and personal development sessions.
- Assisting young people in identifying progression opportunities and providing on-going transition support.
- Liaising with parents/carers of young people participating in our projects, building strong relationships to support the development of service-users.
- Supporting the development of new youth programmes and promoting AAA’s youth offer via attending local youth forums, networking and funder events.
